Good evening all,
I need help urgently please and I will appreciate if someone can put me through.
I have completed my profile and been confirmed eligible.
However, some days ago I saw that the IRCC has updated settlement fund and requested applicants to do same before July 15th.
My husband and I have tried to edit and update my profile, but we can't see where to change the figure.
Please someone should put me through.

This is the link where we saw the information

I kinda disagree. It has been clearly stated here:

https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=394

If your IT was remunerated and you can find an appropriate NOC, it would count.

Prettiepearlz:

Yes, you can use your NYSC experience but not your IT as a student. Are you above the age of 30?

The first question that came to my mind was "why not apply from China". The visa application abroad is usually pretty straightforward, especially as a funded student. I had to read your post again and I felt you are back in the country already. Congrats on your award to USask and Miss. S&T wink . Like @Fratermathy said, keep the application simple and indicate clearly that you are fully funded. You would be perfectly fine. Goodluck

gbadeolu1:
Greetings gurus and angels in the house. Please, help me with suggestions that can make my application good.

Issue 1:
I'm to embark on PhD program, and I got CAD 21k scholarship (my tuition is 7k, so i have 14k for expenses), but my naira has almost nothing because within 2018 to August 2020, I was in China for my MSc. However, I received a scholarship there in USD and had some cash savings to the tone of #2 million naira.

QUESTION: Will it be a good idea to lodge this N2m into my naira and explain how the money came about in a LOE, backing it up with my MSc scholarship award letter? I discussed this with a friend before who said since I'm no longer on that scholarship, I should not the award letter. How then do I explain where a sudden 2 million came from?

Issue 2:
I am married (for 5 years) and now have a 6-month old child. My wife is self employed (does sales) but with no CAC registration.

QUESTION: How can I show that my wife can the family at my absence?

Issue 3: Is just a survey plan enough for a landed property that's been developed/built to a level?

Issue 4: Is it possible to use a non-relation as a 3rd-party sponsor? Say a family friend, a politician or public office holder?

I will be glad to hear your informed suggestions. Thank you.

Btw, my SOP is written and I will be glad if can get someone to vet it for me. God bless!

Hello my people, I need your opinion please. So I got a conditionally accepted for PhD, the requirement yet to be met is copies official copy Bsc university transcripts and certificate from my university. Problem is Uni is on lockdown and there is no sign of reopening as a result of the Covid-19 wahala. I have talked with the University in Canada and they’ve asked I can send electronic copy but still my Naija Uni say e nor possible.

I also applied to a different university and I had submitted all official documents there and haven’t gotten any decision at this moment.

My Question: Is it possible to cancel my application at this university I have not gotten any response and ask them to send these official documents I have sent to the other Uni where I have ission.

I’m also open to any other suggestions that could help.

Thanks

Not possible to ask a school to transfer your transcripts to another. The transcript must be sent directly from your home university. It's just a pity that some of our Nigerian Universities still love their archaic style and refuse to go digital. The only thing is to write a mail to the Grad. coordinator and explain your COVID situation. Tell them to extend the deadline to submit these documents. They are flexible and can always make concessions. May I ask, what program and university are you heading to?

For Interested and Motivated Applicants.

Post picked up from Victor Ogunmola's (A Geoscientist at Exxon Mobil, USA) Linkedin page through his I-scholars initiative

Are you a Nigerian Graduate? How self-driven are you? Do you desire to pursue a graduate study abroad especially in the USA? Are you prepared to write the required exams? Have you got the aptitude but limited by the requisite resource?

If your answers are yes to all these questions, then read on.

This year, i-Scholar Initiative (ISI) plans to sponsor as many possible well qualified candidates for one or a combination of two of the three required tests for foreign grad school programs; Graduate Records Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management ission Test (GMAT) and Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

In Scope
Each selected candidate will be sponsored for a GRE or GMAT depending on their choice of grad programs.
To be sponsored for a TOEFL, the following conditions apply:
GRE candidates- a minimum of 300 cumulative scores in GRE will automatically qualify a candidate for TOEFL sponsorship.
GMAT Candidates: a minimum of 720 cumulative scores in GMAT will automatically qualify a candidate for TOEFL sponsorship.
If you qualify for a TOEFL, you must be prepared and ready to write the exam latest 6 weeks after your GRE or GMAT exam.

Requirements
Provide a 1-2 page statement of purpose demonstrating your self drive and clarity of your academic pursuit and career goals.
A graduate from a Nigerian accredited university with a minimum of Bachelor Degree; Second Class Upper Division or Higher.
Provide a clear plan on your preparation and strategy for writing and ing the exam(s) with excellent results if selected. Your draft plan must also include the specific time you wish to write the exams and begin to apply for foreign grad programs.
A letter of recommendation from a University Professor/Don who has a direct knowledge of your aptitude, academic records and leadership/volunteer involvements.
In addition to all the documentary evidences of the above identified requirements, also attach the most recent resume and academic records including copies of your FIRST DEGREE transcripts.

Successful candidates should be prepared and ready to write the exam(s) latest by August 2020.

How to Apply
Send application through an email to : [email protected]
Make GRE or GMAT the Subject of your Email based on the exam sponsorship you are applying for.
You should and must assemble ALL your required documents and send everything together as an attachment(s) in a SINGLE email. In other words, your application would be assessed based on the contents of your first email.
Where possible, send all attachments in .pdf format.

The Process/What to Expect
Application remains opened until March 31st midnight CST.
Received applications will be assessed and reviewed in April- A representative of ISI may candidates to conduct interviews if/where/when necessary.
Successful candidates will be announced in May
ISI will connect every successful scholar with seasoned mentors to help navigate ission processes.
In June, ISI will engage with and do the exam(s) registration on behalf of the successful candidates directly with the Educational Testing Services (ETS).
All scholars are required to keep their mentors in the loop of progress including but not limited to important milestones such as exam scores, ission applications/funding offers etc.
Each successful scholar would be required to accept and sign a perjury oath/agreement accepting a liability if discovered that he/she has misrepresented any material facts during or after the selection process.

What is not Promised/Out of Scope
We are unable to provide full Scholarships to study abroad- but your good performance in GRE or GMAT and TOEFL could potentially get you fully funded grad programs with the university of your choice. We would work with you in navigating the ission process.
GRE/GMAT/TOEFL- each of the exams provides an opportunity to freely and directly send your exams scores to a certain number of schools you indicate during registration. However, you would have to personally pay the application fees for any additional schools you might want to apply to after this.
Best Practices
It is important to read very carefully and follow all the instructions highlighted above.
You don't need to personally know any of the ISI representatives for a success or otherwise of your application.
Use only the email provided as the standard communication medium for all enquiries. Allow the process to run its natural course- no undue personal inbox messages would be entertained.
If you must ask a necessary question on this thread, allow at least 24 hours for a response. And please first endeavor to check through previous responses- your question might have been answered already.
You need no special permission to share this announcement with your networks.

Question to the house, my sister applied for 4 programs instead of the stipulated 3, does she have any chance of still getting the scholarship?

If she could still withdraw one application, she should do it right away. If she eventually get selected for one, it would be nullified by the EACEA (approval/funding agency) as she has applied to more than the 3 stipulated programs.

FAME+ applicants can reach out to the Erasmus Mundus Facebook Page for interview tips from previously selected scholars..

Also, selected/awarded applicants can also reach out to the page. From last year, all selected applicants were linked together.

Good luck to everyone...

Please do you know if one can still submit the legalized documents after march1

The only correct answer to this will be obtained by shooting an email to the program coordinator or the secretary. The secretary would be better as he/she handles all correspondence. If your legalized documents reaches Belgium in time, I think you can still be considered...

I guess your program is sinrem. If yes then it's one of the risk you have to take. I personally don't like their process. Bit I think you can go for if you're willing.

I think in his situation, no ranking has been done yet. If I'm correct.... The program deadline (IMSOGLO) is still weeks away, March 1st to be precise...

If he doesn't send it, I fear he might not even be considered when they starts drawing up the rankings...

I think someone was placed under the same condition last year. He eventually got the scholarship, but it can only be valid once he sends his legalised docs.

If they say you're still under scholarship consideration, it is an open statement.

I will advise you to them, and ask for your ranking on the consideration list.

If you're replied to be on a high ranking, then legalising your docs should follow.

I wish you all the best Bro...

Which program is that?

Can you share the house your profile?

hello, please do i still have chances of getting a scholarship if I do not legalize my document? am ready to legalize if i get a scholarship first... please advise thanks

It's not a guarantee bro.....the rule is that you send in your legalized documents. If the consortium doesn't have it, there is no way they can confirm it's authenticity...Because of Fraud issues...

It's a risk bro...No one here can tell you if you would get the scholarship or not.

For more clarifications...shoot a mail to the coordinator/secretary.

EMJMD....One of the best and juiciest scholarship in the world. smiley wink ......Let me go ahead

List of old programs currently offered (some may be removed by Sept/Oct 2018).

https://eacea.ec.europa.eu/erasmus-plus/library/emjmd-catalogue_en

New 45 programs opening up in September/October 2018. This new 45 programs would be added to the ones left behind from the old list. In all, 110 programs would be funded by the EACEA for 2018/2019.

https://eacea.ec.europa.eu/sites/eacea-site/files/2018_emjmd_selection_results_-final.pdf

Go through both links and select three programs that you would apply to when the call for applications begins. Each program has its specific opening and deadline dates.

Use your search engine and find the website of the three programs you have selected for application. Note: the programs you've selected must be in tandem with your academic/work/research background. Even if you have the best result, picking a wrong program can affect your selection.

Hence, read through each program's website. Take your time and digest it's contents. Look out for documents required : Copy of your Transcript, Certificate, No/Type of Referees, TOEFL/IELTS scores, Motivation letter/Essay prompts, CV( Prepare one according to the Euro Format. "Google this"wink etc

Meanwhile, get an Intl port if you don't have one as this is required in ing for the TOEFL/IELTS exam. It's important you write either of this test as it would give you more opportunities in of applications. You'll be able to apply, not only for the Erasmus Mundus program, but to other scholarships around the world.

Your motivation letter is very important. It has to tell a story. Connect dots from your past experiences with what you hope to achieve going forward. You'll be doing a lot of drafting, editing, proof reading and the likes. Prepare your mind for this. Start brainstorming on how you wanna shapen this letter. It is very crucial in the application process. You must be able to sell yourself

Your referees should be the ones that are accessible. They should be internet savvy and also possess a bit of online presence. They should be able to write top-notch reference letters on your behalf  and not the "cliché" type. So choose your refeeres wisely. Referees with institutional email are preferable.

Your CGPA is not only the deciding factor here. If your CGPA is average, other aspects of the application has to be water tight ( e.g relevant work experience, publication, volunteer experience, leadership e.t.c). Seunbunmi won this scholarship in the past with a 2.1 CGPA(3.8 .So don't let that deter you.

The journey to selection and  Sept. 2019 entry is a tough one. However, it is doable. I want y'all to prepare your mind towards it.

If you have specific questions, feel free to ask. However, that should be after you've made efforts to make research on your own.

Bonne Chance à tous!

I'm Erasmus for Life!!
