asuustrike1:
they do preach them except that you have not listen to all the preachers or you focus on some group of preachers.all the ages in the Bible are important and are preached through the leading of the holy ghost. for example Amos 3:3 , Micah 2:1,Micah 7:8-9, Nahum 3:1-19,Jonah 2,3,4, Obadiah 1:17,.study these ages and see if you haven't hear them in one way or another.
@asuustrike1, why Pastors don't use or refer to Mohameed when preaching? Or is Mohameed not in the Holy Bible. Please, answer this question.

thorpido: You don't understand spiritual things. You can't follow logical reasoning with spiritual things. It doesn't work that way.I understand you want the logical but it doesn't mix with the spiritual. It's like saying liquid flows and solid must flow too.

The jews do not believe because they turned in disobedience to God and that makes wisdom foolishness to them. It's not about being smart.Earthly smartness does not work with God.
@thorpido. Why we Africans are so crazy about religion? Before Christianity and Islam in this continent, we are all Idol Worshippers and the whole World at large. Let me use Nigeria as a case study; we all worship idols. And during those day, there's trust, children obey their parents, we are contended and okay with what we have, we eat healthy foods and take natural fruits, no AIDS, STD, Ebola, etc. Those days, anybody that commits adultery would be stoned to death so the rate of commiting adultery is minimal. Food Sellers would leave their foods in junctions and put the exact amount they want to sell it. People will get there and eat and leave their money on the table for the Food Seller. When the Food Seller get to the junction in the evening, she will pack her plates and her money. Thesame procedure is also applicable to all the Commodity Seller. Now, what is happening with that trust? It has been lost. Rate of commiting adultery now is very high. Sugar mummies and Sugar daddies everywhere include Sugar sons. They will post that stupid offer on the internet like this; My name is Mrs. Lagbaja, I am looking for a young guy that is good in bed and satisfy my sexual want. Thesame thing goes for the sugar daddies and sugar sons, too. I'm not through yet. But I will continue by tomorrow.

franconian: Thank you very much for the effort you put into typing all that!

CCNA: I can/will go for that. But for an OND in CS, CE, or any other related course, how do I possibly get this? I actually wanted to go for PGD in IT offered by NOUN (National Open Unive...), the form is currently on sale. Can this be a substitute for the OND stuff? Considering that OND will take 2 years and this will take just 1 year.

smiley smiley grin grin grin

Yeah Boss, I do.

I am actually searching for a mentor. I will prefer to send it via email. How about that?
Evening Bros, you can go for PGD in IT at NOUN; it's even good like that. About the Professional Course, focus on one aspect because focusing on many aspects of it will result to zero. I know what I'm talking about; I still had a little experience of it some times ago. About the ideas of application development, sending it to your e-mail address is not a problem. But I need to talk to you first. Try to make it your business to post your number here on this platform so that I will be able to call you and talk. Some of the businesses you can also consider in the IT Industry include printing and selling of recharge cards in wholesales, Call Cenre Agency, bulk SMS business, online data entry jobs, etc. But for the application development ideas, I need to talk to you first. Let's brainstorm together and bring out something meaningful. Waiting to see your number here on this platform...

franconian:

Bro thank you very much!

I will look up those certificate courses you talked about.

I have a good laptop n all those basic stuffs. I know basic html and CSS as well. I was learning php and java with the videos I got from thenewboston.org but I ran into problems when my "XAMPP control pane" and "eclipse" started misbehaving - I am trying to fix them. The problem is when I have problems with my softwares, I have no one to help me out. I enrolled for some courses on coursera but many of those courses require at least a basic knowledge of Java.

That aside, I was told that for people (companies) to take me serious in the IT world, I will need a masters degree in addition to my many certificates along side work experiences.

As for a masters degree, what is your take on this?

As for the work experience, how do I get this? Where should I start from?

Bros, don't let anyone to feed you with you with wrong info. Though, some Companies require Masters Degree for some positions, but not all. Bros, let me tell you something; if you are a Computer Guru or Wizard, and know what you are doing very well, they will gladly welcome you into their Company. For instance, if you have Cisco Certified Network Associate(CCNA) and Ordinary National Diploma(OND) with discipline in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any other related course, you will be receiving at least three hundred thousand naira(N300,000.00) per month from any Telecommunication Companies in Nigeria. If at all you will be cheated to the last core, you will be receiving at least two hundred thousand naira(N200,000.00) per month; though the CCNA Certificate must come direct from CISCO in U.K by enrolling for the international exam. If you the international exam, CISCO will issue you a Certificate direct from their Head Office in U.K; with this and the OND, you are entitle to receive that substantial amount from any Telecommunication Companies in Nigeria. But without the certification from U.K, just forget about that. Can you see now that Masters Degree is that important in the IT Industry, but it will be a plus for you. But if they insist, you just leave them and concentrate on something important to you; which is your Future Partner or Girl Friend by catching fun with her(laughs, laughs,...) because they are not ready for business. If they are ready, they will pay you your worth. Going for Masters Degree Program now will costs you at least a million naira. Why can't you use that a million naira for business? I'm sorry for saying this; I don't know may be you are from a rich family. I'm just trying to raise a suggestion. If you wanted to go into business, you can also do business in the IT Industry. There are series of businesses there. You can start web deg for corporate bodies, software for corporate bodies, application developing, etc. If you want ideas on application development, tell me here on this platform. You can equally post your number here, so that I will be able to call you and talk. But if you don't want, no qualm about that. I am just trying to help my fellow Nairalander and Nigerian. that the richest man in the World , Bill Gates is the Owner of Microsoft and Microsoft is worth several billions of dollars annually and Bill Gates is a Drop-Out University. Facebook Owner, Mark Zugarbark is a Drop-Out University and Facebook makes him the Youngest Billionaire in the World. Also 2go and Whatapp worth billions of dollars annually. So think and re-think over your Masters Degree Program because education does not make one rich, it is the work of the brain by being an Entrepreneur. If you don't have anything to fall back on after your Masters Degree Program, there is a problem and the problem is where you will be getting your daily bread. Enough said...

At franconian, you are a man. Don't let anybody decide for you or dictate for. Leave the toga and do whatever sails your boat because you are going to put food on the table for your family; nobody else will help you with that. Now, if you want to take a career in IT, it's very easy and simple. All you have to do is to get a good Laptop, smart phone with high sophisticated features, a good modem or broadband and some little cash in your pocket. If you don't know anything about Computer before, take a course in Computer Appreciation from any Computer Training Centre around your area, or better still a free manual on the internet. If you can't, tell someone to do it for you for a measly fee. This option will come cheaper for you than enrolling yourself in a Computer Training Centre. Because you will learn at your own convinient space and time. After completing the Computer Appreciation stage, from there you can move on to any level you want in IT. You learn programming, Comptia N+ i.e networking, Comptia A+ i.e engineering. There are different organizations that are offering professional courses in the IT Industry. Some of them are Microsoft, Oracle, ISACA, CISCO, etc. There are many courses you can go for under these organizations. For ISACA, I don't know know much about because they're still a new Company in the IT Industry. But I know they offer Certified Internal System Auditor(CISA); this CISA is a very fine course, you can go for it because it is still new in the IT Industry. You can google them and find more about them. For Oracle, you can go for Oracle Certified Associate(OCA), Oracle Certified Professional(O), etc. For CISCO, you can go for CCNA, CCNP, CCVP, CCIP, etc. You have many options to choose from to become an IT Expert or Consultant. To cap it all, know how to design a website, because it is an hot cake in town now. And also, you should also learn hacking, software development. The sky is your limit. Welcome to the IT World...

Good evening every Nairalanders on this thread. Baba11, I'm sorry for not have been following you on this thread: it was due to the megabytes I didn't have on my phone. Now, I'm back again... The main point on this thread is to be an Entrepreneur, right? You can be an Entrepreneur if you have the following criteria; without these criteria, just forget to be an Entrepreneur. The criteria are 1. Have a good mindset to be an Entrepreneur 2. Have a sales skills 3. Know the best avenue(s) to your products or services in order to generate much profits for your business 4. Know how to raise capital to start a business 5. Know how to retain your existing Customers and how to make them happy. By having all these five criteria, you are good to go. I want you to know one fact that business is not learnt in School: it is learnt on the Street. If you want to confirm my fact, just ask any Student of Business istration of any Tertiary School about how to start a business: what you will get as an answer will not be useful in the business world because the Lecturers and Professors that are teaching them business are not Business Owners. They don't know how to start a business from scratch, grow a business, let the business stand test of time. They just based on theory, read textbooks and lecture the Students in the Lecture Room/Theatre/Hall for about one or two hours twice in a month. Tell me, would these Students know anything about business? Even in the Business School, what they taught are not useful. If you want to be a successful Entrepreneur, learn from successful Entrepreneurs, learn from people that always take risks in business. Because if you don't take risks in business, you cannot be successful. Now let's look at some business ideas people have come across and the person should tell us the ins and outs of the business; I mean how to start the business, how to grow the business to become a giant Company in the future, the steps involved in starting the business. Please, the person should give us these information for free because there are many Nigerians outside there like me that are living and still living in poverty. Let's share business tips together on this thread so that people like me will be from poverty. Thanks a lot, we will be looking forward to see some business ideas with its info. I'm still with you on this thread. I'll come back by tomorrow...

Baba 11, you've really opened a good thread: a thread that has meaning and really make sense. Though our Government has not done good in the area of job employmem, if I want to view it from my own perspective. Wha I think about this qualm is that our population is increasing everyday. Nigeria is presently over two hundred million and Lagos is taking the highest of the populatio. Lagos is now over twenty million. Increasing in our population has caused the problem of unemployment in Nigeria because everybody want to go to School. Every year, millions of students are graduating from Universities, Polytechnics, College of Educations. Tell me, if these millions were employed this year, would next year million Graduates be employed too? What of the upper year? Or the employed ones last year will be sacked because of this year fresh Graduates? Let us think and re-think about this situation on ground. It's not only Nigeria that has this problem of unemloyment. It happens in America England, , , Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Canada, Egypt, Ghana, India, and the rest of the World. Now, this my advice. Let us look for a problem and then look for the solution to the problem you have identified or you should feel a need for people: that is the secret of doing business. The problem of our Graduates is that they want to engage themselves in blue-collar jobs or dirty work. They want to be engaged in white-collar jobs or neat work. Most of them want to work in Banks, MTN, glo, airtel, P & G, Nestle, Cadbury,Glaxosmithkline, Emzor, Orange drugs, Larfage, Dangote, AP, Mobil, Con oil, Forte oil, Famfa oil, Chevron, etc not knowing that it is not easy like that. Some know how to start a business while some don't. Those that know how to start lack fund, like me. Those that don't kow how to start is not their fault. It is either they lack useful information or don't know anything at all due to the education they had in their various Tertiary Institutions. Those that built those giants or gigantic Companies don't have education. Those that had did it in a part-time way when they become successful. So think and re-think. I'll keep inspiring my fellow Nairalanders and Nigerians at a whole. I'm coming, I want to take my cup of coffee. Wanna me? Okay, let's go...

Good evening my fellow Nairalanders. I've been on this thread since its inception, but I have not been participating for a while now due to the minor qualms I had on my mobile phone. Mr. Newacca, here's my e-mail address; [email protected]. You can send me the precise date we will meet for meeting in person again to this e-mail address and I will be very happy if you can do that for me. Please, I'm not on BBM neither Whatsapp. I'll like to be part of the next meeting so that I can share some ideas and equally gain some. I know that this thread will bring out something meaningful and it will grow beyond our expectations. Thanks...

Thanks newacca. There are series of businesses one can venture into. Nigeria is blessed with a lot of business opportunities and business industry/sectors. The industry include; food, media, real estate, technology, transportation, education, sport, oil and gas, importation/exportation, tourism, health/medical, clothing, etc. Anyone that has one, two, or more business ideas in any of industries mentioned above should share it with us on this thread; the tips, information about the business mentioned, etc. We're waiting to see new business ideas here from kind people.

Thanks bros, I really appreciate your courage. Young Entrepreneurs like us have been sharing ideas, thoughts, etc in major Cities like Abuja, Lagos, Calabar, Port-Harcourt, etc but Abeokuta was exempted. This idea you brought online have been burning in my heart for a while now, and I'm very happy to come across this thread today. I'm Babatunde Ibrahim from Abeokuta(a typical Egba man). I stayed in Ifo now, though. I'm planning to start a business in Abeokuta by August but I'm short of fund. The business is in the food industry and it is a serviced-based business. Bros, how can you help me with my short of fund? Any help will be fully appreciated. Thanks.
