A few weeks ago, my phone had a serious software meltdown. It froze completely, and nothing worked. I had no choice but to flash it, wiping everything clean. After the flashing, I tried to recover my WhatsApp chats, but that’s when things got weird.

When I attempted to restore my chats, I was hit with an unusual error message:

" with the previous number ending with 05."

The problem?
I HAVE NEVER used or owned any number ending with 05 on my WhatsApp—ever!

I’ve only been using my two official numbers for WhatsApp Messenger and WhatsApp Business for years. There’s no trace of any other number.

I followed all the usual troubleshooting steps—clearing cache, reinstalling the app, switching networks, even trying backup solutions like MobileTrans—but nothing works. WhatsApp keeps insisting on this mysterious 05 number that I have no connection with.

WhatsApp Is Tired of Me!
I’ve been exchanging emails with WhatsApp for over two weeks now. They’ve given me every solution under the sun, but nothing works. It’s like they’ve hit a wall—because now, they’ve stopped replying to my emails altogether.

The Federal government has declared Friday, May 27, as a work-free day to mark Children's day celebration.
