I walked up to the lady at the main entrance and said to her I have got a baby with me and that it so windy and cold; and she said I should just walk in..... so I didn't have to the queue. 9.20am I was right in front of the V.O V.O - morning ! port please. Me: morning, how are you today? V.O - Not too bad. Where are you visiting and for how long ? Me: Chicago/4days V.O- where do you work ? And your wife Me- blah blah V.O - how long have you been living in the UK? Me: 7years V.O- your visa approved ! [quote author=KaptainAfrika post=55912242]This is complicated as calculus. First, you have to apply in the country of primary residence. Second you will need to have strong ties in that country. But this one that you came to study and ended up staying albeit legally in the UK or is it Canada, will probably make the VO suspect that you wish to do the same in the US. But damnnnnnn! [Thanks Kaptain] I. I was sponsored by a company in the Uk after studying. So I have got a work permit. Definitely, UK is my country of permanent residence(I'm applying in London). 2. I have the right to remain in Canada if I want, but I can't leave my job in the Uk 3. I've got a fair travel history looking at the last 4 years; I have visited 5 European countries and all was sponsored by my company. Please let me know if I need to be clear on specific points. thanks once again. |

Hi Everyone, Please, I need a quick guide on my application. 1. I applied 5years ago when I was studying in the Uk, and I was denied. (I guess I couldn’t convince the VO the reason for my visit then) 2. This time I believe my situation isn’t the same – Now I’m married, with a kid. I still live and work legally in the UK (valid till the year 2020). Spouse and I have both lived here for 7years. 3. We recently just got a permanent residency in Canada, and have been issued an initial visa until the end of June 2017. We would get a PR upon arrival in Canada in May. We have planned to do a soft landing and explore the land for 2weeks. 4. However, we do not want to start staying in Canada yet as we both still enjoy our job in the UK. We like to visit the US for 4days within the 2 weeks period; we plan to fly from Toronto to Chicago Please kindly advise on things we should watch out for when explaining to the VO. Thanks. |

An Ideal reference letter: 1. Written on company letterhead 2. Signed by the responsible officers/supervisor 3. Have the printed name and job title of the responsible officer/supervisor beneath the signature 4. Show the company’s full address, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail and website addresses 5. Stamped with the company’s official seal (if applicable) 6. Ideally, the Business card of the person g it should be attached to the letter The letter must include 5 things: 1. Your job title 2. The dates of your employment (ideal format: DD/MM/YYYYY) 3. Your salary per year 4. Your average hours/week 5. A detailed list of your employment duties : In order to be successful with your application the visa officer needs to feel that the duties and responsibilities indicated in your letter of reference are some worth related to that of the NOC you are claiming. - http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/OccupationIndex.aspx What if I can’t get a letter of reference to these specifications? If you really can’t provide an official letter of reference to the specifications mentioned above then you can try supplementary documentation but this is never as good as an official letter of reference. Keep in mind that the final decision regarding your employment documentation is always at the discretion of the visa officer. Some examples of supplementary documentation: • Employment contracts • Promotion letters • Visa petition letters • Payslips • Sworn declarations from previous colleagues Thought this might help someone, please feel free to add your opinion. olurotimi1: Thanks for responding. 1. A 2-member family (applicant inclusive) 2. ECA (masters degree) done by both 3. I put a wrong Pof of $15,000 instead of $15,318 (I'd definitely correct this) 4. Note: we didn't put any details of other academic background (except for the master's degree) - Do we have to include (first Degree info and secondary school ?). I'm certain it is not necessary to do ECA this. but do we still need to put the details on EE-Profile. 5. I'm having a go at the IELTS again 30th/APR. I believe it's wise to still go ahead with the EE profile whilst I wait for the second IELTS. Many Thanks Olurotimi. |

dupyshoo: Thanks for the quick response. Just a couple of info. 1. We have only done ECA for our masters degree (we didn't include any other academic profile when filling the EE apart from the masters) Is it compulsory to put secondary school and first degree details ) ? 2. I put $15,000 for PoF, instead of $15,413 - ( I'm suspecting this could be the reason) and lastly , Congrats ! |
