Okay guys. I am the one that posted that “Can you use Lagos DS160 in Abuja” — the answer is Yes, you can because my brother did that today.

He interviewed in Abuja with the DS160 that he filled for Lagos. His visa was denied though because he mentioned that he has a brother in the US (Same school). I am currently doing a PhD in the same school that he is coming. The only question he got asked is *Do you have anyone in the US and where are they* which he answered truthfully as advised. He got his own 70% scholarship and we have a strong bank statement but was still denied.

I think its because I am in the same school, do you guys think he should reapply for the visa or what can he change?

Did you select Lagos as your appointment centre when you started the application on the portal initially?

Yes, I selected Lagos initially from the beginning. But when its time to select a slot, only Abuja went through😹😹. I am tired

No, they didnt prompt me to my I-20, it was stuck on preapproval request proccessing until yesterday I started seeing dates in Lagos and Abuja, lagos kept saying “something went wrong”, Abuja worked

Yes, I used the new portal, I paid on August 26th, and I was only able to select Abuja today even though my original location was Lagos that is why I am confused, my appointment is on tueday September 10.

I filled the DS160 and selected Lagos as the interview location, but when I went to the new appointment website, lagos was not working as it was say "something went wrong try later". I tried to see if its the same for Abuja and I clicked a date in Abuja now they have scheduled me for Abuja. I am unable to see where to put new Abuja DS160 Barcode number..

My question is can I use the DS160 for Lagos to interview in Abuja?

Oh my, they sent this to me too. It's called DS5535. This is why they always say you must what you put in your DS160. I think you can put year of work only if you don't know exact date. Sure they will what you answer with what's on your ds160. Be as truthful as possible

I just got a mail from the embassy. They attached a form that requires my info, including bio data, work experience, addresses lived in the last 15 years, social media handles, email addresses and phone numbers used in the last five yrs, and also names and date of birth fo all my siblings.

For a reason I don't know, I was not able to my ds-160 form after completion. Immediately I clicked to , I was logged out, and when I logged in, I couldn't access it again. I had the options (till date) of ing only the confirmation page ( I don't know if anyone has experienced such).

My issue now is, particularly in work experience, my dates where not accurate. The only two jobs I filled in are my undergraduate trainee and an online freelance editing jobs, of which there was no official termination. Hmece, I just chose random dates. Now, bcus I can't access my ds-160 form, I can't the exact dates I filled in. Could this have detrimental implications? I'm just confused. Please help if you can

It could be as a result of your degree major or travel history, or a name hit. I was placed on istrative Processing because I studied Biotechnology in Russia for my MSc. It will only take some time but you will eventually get your visa, if you do everything they ask you to do right. I had to wait for 60 days in my case.

I v been following this page, and it was indeed helpful in my preparation for F1 visa interview, which held just some hours ago. However, I have an issue, which I wish to know if anyone has encountered.

I was served a yellow paper, instead of white or blue. The section ticked by the VO reads "your application requires istrative processing. You will be sent supplementary questions by email. Please complete the form and return to [email protected]".

Please, what does this mean? Do I still have a chance? Or is it a denial?

My conditions:
I'm going for a funded PhD program with a deficit if $2600, which my sister will be taking care of. For the interview, the transcript is as follows:

Vo: good morning and please me your port and i-20.

Me: good morning (es the docs).

Vo: I can see you are going to xx school.

Me: yes sir.

Vo: why xx?
Me: because I found a faculty, Dr. ... who does whose research is perfect in line with mine. Dr. .... (I explained further his research work).

Vo: (nodes) what's your plan after studies?
Me: I will return to Nigeria to take up a job in a research institute, where I ll utilize my accumulated knowledge in solving Nigeria's energy problem.

Vo: (nodes and started typing) i can see your sister will sponsor the deficit.

Me: yes sir.

Vo: what does she do?
Me: she works with Bleep company.
Vo: (nodes, brought out a yellow paper and tucked on it) your visa application cannot be concluded kow. We will send you a mail inq couple of days requesting additional info. Quickly reply to the mail, we will get back to you.

Me: thank you sir.

Please, where could the 'coma' originate from?

You just need to wait. I was under istrative processing for more than 2 months. I was supposed to resume in August but had to defer till January. I think there is still a lot of time. You will still get it.

I got approved for my F1 visa last week, but when I went to pick up my port, the DHL attendant said it’s under “istrative processing”. I checked the visa status myself and it says the same thing. My school resumes first week of January. I’m confused because the consular officer approved my visa during the interview. Please who has any experience with this issue.

I think you should just chill, if they need anything they will you. It's a game of wait.

Okay bro. My visa got approved almost two weeks ago but I have not gotten my port back yet. My CEAC status is presently showing istrative processing and my case status was last updated on the date of the interview. No document requested yet too. So I am a bit confused.

No, it was never updated. It later changed from "Refused" to "istrative processing" when they called that they were ready to Issue Visa

Hello bro. Please all through your 60 days wait back then, was your case status on the Ceac tracker updated at anytime in between the wait or it was only updated when your visa was finally approved?

I think it's normal. My CGI portal remained the same for like 2 weeks after I was refused under section 221g and my port given back to me, it disappeared later. The best way to check your case status is to use the Ceac tracker

Fill a new ds160 entirely, go to your CGI portal and update it by inserting your new DS160 confirmation code

Update: It took 60 days, then my visa was approved. They requested for alot of documents for their background checks and all. They asked for travel history too. Funniest thing is that school has already started. So I was deffered to Spring 2022.

The VO went away for like 20mins and she came back and told me that she was checking about my course. After another five minutes she hand me the 221g form for istrative processing that they need more time to research about my course in Russia (It happens that Biotechnology and some other STEM courses are on the technology Alert list).

Who has been in this situation and how did you solve it?

The fact that you studied Biotechnology in Rusaai is a reg flag . US is very careful with anything that has to do with Russia, North Korea and China
