Leave Senator Natasha H. Akpoti Alone, ers Warn Federal Government Over Targeted Harassment

Nigerians across various regions and backgrounds are rallying behind Senator Natasha Hadiza Akpoti-Uduaghan, the distinguished Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District. Amidst recent political turbulence, Senator Natasha has been at the center of what many are calling politically motivated attacks, prompting her ers to issue a firm and public warning to the Nigerian federal government: Leave Senator Natasha Akpoti alone.

Senator Natasha H. Akpoti is not just another politician; she is a trailblazer. Rising from a background rooted in public service, law and advocacy, Natasha first gained national attention as a fearless advocate for marginalized communities and transparent governance. Her steady commitment to justice, women’s empowerment and regional development set her apart long before her historic election victory.

In 2023, she made history by becoming the first female senator from Kogi Central, a region often overshadowed in national politics. Her victory was more than symbolic; it represented the voice of the people, women, youth and the underrepresented, claiming their rightful place in governance. However, with that victory has come intense scrutiny, obstacles, and recently, what many describe as an orchestrated campaign to tarnish her name and undermine her authority.

Over the past months, Senator Natasha Akpoti has faced a slew of legal hurdles, invasive investigations, and public smear campaigns. While governments have a duty to uphold the law and ensure public ability, many observers believe the level of attention directed at the senator goes far beyond routine scrutiny.

From spurious accusations to attempts to delegitimize her electoral mandate, Natasha’s political journey has been marred by a series of obstacles seemingly aimed at silencing her vibrant and dissenting voice. Her ers argue that these actions are not only unjustified but also dangerous for Nigeria’s democracy.

“Natasha has faced a lot recently. It’s as if her political success has become a threat to the establishment,” said Musa Abdulrahman, a youth leader in Okene. “We are sending a clear message to the federal government: Stop the harassment. Leave Senator Natasha H. Akpoti alone.”

Many believe that Senator Natasha’s resilience in the face of adversity has only further endeared her to the public. Her continued advocacy for healthcare, education, infrastructure and gender inclusion has not gone unnoticed. Despite facing legal threats and political opposition, she remains committed to delivering on her campaign promises.

“She is one of the few who actually go back to their communities and listen to the people,” said Michael Samuel Idoko, a political activist based in Abuja . “She is the people’s senator and any attempt to silence her is an attempt to silence all the Nigerian women .”

Democracies thrive on diversity of thought, robust debate, and ability. Attempts to sideline or silence individuals like Senator Natasha set a dangerous precedent. It discourages competent individuals, especially women, from stepping into public service. It sends a chilling message that dissent or independence from political orthodoxy will not be tolerated.

The international community is also beginning to take notice. Several diplomatic observers and human rights organizations have called for transparency and fairness in all investigations involving public officials, emphasizing that political rivalry should not be disguised as legal ability.

In light of the ongoing challenges facing Senator Natasha Akpoti, her ers are urging the federal government to exercise restraint, uphold democratic principles and focus on issues that truly matter to Nigerians: security, education, infrastructure and economic stability.

“Enough is enough,” said a coalition of youth leaders in Kogi State. “We won’t stand by and watch one of our best leaders be bullied out of office. We are watching, and we will not be silent.”

Senator Natasha H. Akpoti represents hope for a new Nigeria one where competence, integrity and courage are celebrated rather than punished. As she continues to navigate the treacherous waters of Nigerian politics, it is imperative that the federal government heeds the calls of the people and upholds the rule of law without bias or political manipulation.

Leave Senator Natasha Akpoti alone. Her constituents stand firmly behind her and so do millions of Nigerians who believe in fairness, justice and true democracy.

Abure’s Actions Expose Him as APC Mole - Group

...Hails Otti as Nigeria’s Top Governor

A socio-political group, Abia Concerned Citizens, has strongly criticized Julius Abure, the former National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), accusing him of being a "mole" planted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to destabilize the party.

The statement came through the former LP National Secretary, Alh. Umar Faruk at the heels of a growing leadership crisis within the LP, where Abure has sought intervention from President Bola Tinubu, raising alarm over his safety.

The group’s Director-General, ..................... in a press statement on Wednesday, stressed the need for unity within the party while praising Governor Alex Otti of Abia State as the best-performing governor in Nigeria.

She stated, "Otti has transformed Abia State, leading in key sectors such as energy, security, and education."

Challenging Abure’s authority, she asked, "What steps did he take when Labour Party National Assembly defected to the APC? Isn’t this the same Abure who had the audacity to claim the party suspended the best performing governor in Nigeria, the best governor in the history of the Southeast? Alex Otti has become a model for good governance in Nigeria, transforming Abia State across the energy sector, economy, industrialization, security, education, and more."

The group urged Abure and Umar Faruk to return to their home states and destabilise the ruling party there with their divisive tendencies.
She further advised them to humbly accept the fact that their tenure has long since ended as ruled by the Supreme Court on 4th April, 2025.

"We Abians can no longer allow these APC agents to continue to denigrate the people's Governor with their unguarded statements," she asserted, emphasising that such rhetoric only served to create further confusion among the of party.

They also highlighted the absurdity of Abure calling on President Bola Tinubu of the APC for intervention in a Labour Party matter.

The group raised concerns about Abure's threats to lead NWC to suspend influential party figures, including the female Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Ireti Kingibe and the highly revered Peter Obi. While reaffirming their unwavering for Governor Otti, they are insisting that unity and strong leadership which Abure lacks are essential for the party's future success.

Nigerian Socialite Michael Samuel Idoko Demands Resignation of JAMB Registrar Over UTME Fiasco

Lagos, Nigeria – May 14, 2025 – Nigerian socialite and outspoken public commentator, Michael Samuel Idoko, has called for the immediate resignation of Professor Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar of the t issions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), describing his leadership as “grossly incompetent” and unworthy of the trust of the Nigerian people.

This bold statement comes in the wake of a dramatic and emotional public apology rendered by Prof. Oloyede on Wednesday, following the widespread controversy surrounding the conduct of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The JAMB boss overcome with emotion, broke into tears while addressing the media about technical errors that affected hundreds of thousands of candidates, especially in the South-East region and Lagos.

“Despite our best efforts, we are human and not perfect,” Prof. Oloyede stated during the press conference. He also announced that fresh examinations will be conducted for 379,997 candidates across five South-Eastern states and Lagos, beginning May 15. He assured the public that affected candidates will receive text messages with details of their rescheduled exams.

However, this public display of contrition has not gone down well with Idoko, who has lambasted the Registrar’s apology as a “global embarrassment” and a reflection of deeper systemic failure in Nigeria’s educational istration.

“It is shameful and utterly unacceptable that over 300,000 students, our future leaders have had their academic destinies tampered with due to the incompetence of JAMB,” Idoko said in a statement released on Thursday. “The emotional theatrics and crocodile tears of Prof. Oloyede are not what Nigerians need. What we need is ability.”

Idoko further asserted that the debacle has undermined the integrity of the entire examination process and cast Nigeria in a poor light on the global stage.

“This is not just a national issue; it is a global embarrassment. Parents, stakeholders and the international academic community are watching. JAMB is one of the key gateways to higher education in Nigeria and its failure reflects poorly on the country as a whole,” he added.

The socialite, who has gained popularity for his unfiltered critiques of public institutions, urged President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Ministry of Education to take immediate action by launching an independent probe into the matter and appointing a new competent Registrar to restore public confidence.

“This is not about politics or personal vendetta,” Idoko said. “This is about the lives and futures of nearly 400,000 young Nigerians who prepared tirelessly for an exam, only to be met with chaos and confusion. Someone must be held responsible.”

Public reaction to the JAMB mishap has been swift and divided. While some have praised Prof. Oloyede for owning up to the mistakes and taking steps to rectify them, others, like Idoko believe that apologies are not enough and that concrete leadership changes are needed to prevent future occurrences.

A mother of one of the affected candidates in Enugu, Mrs. Adaeze Okeke, expressed frustration: “My son traveled miles to write his exam only to face technical issues. We cannot continue like this.”

The Board has faced numerous challenges in recent years, ranging from technical glitches to issues of examination malpractice. While Prof. Oloyede is credited with implementing reforms that have improved transparency in many areas, critics argue that operational failures continue to plague the system under his leadership.

As the Board scrambles to regain control and ensure a smooth re-examination process starting May 15, many eyes remain fixed on Aso Rock, waiting to see whether the Tinubu istration will heed calls for decisive action or offer continued to the embattled JAMB Registrar.

Until then, one thing remains clear: the 2025 UTME crisis has sparked a national reckoning, and Nigerians, especially their youth, are demanding better.

Michael Samuel Idoko Blasts Kogi State Government Over ₦100 Billion Lokoja Waterworks Revitalization Plan

In a sharp rebuke that has stirred widespread conversation across Kogi State and beyond, renowned public commentator and grassroots development advocate, Michael Samuel Idoko has condemned the Kogi State Government’s decision to allocate a staggering ₦100 billion for the revitalization of the Lokoja Waterworks project. The announcement made by the Kogi State Commissioner for Water Resources on May 13, 2025, has generated mixed reactions but none as forceful and pointed as Idoko’s.

Speaking with Naija Reality News on Tuesday evening, Idoko did not mince words, calling the proposed spending “an irresponsible misallocation of public funds” and “a slap in the face of the suffering masses who still struggle daily with poor healthcare, broken schools, unemployment and unsafe roads.”

According to the Commissioner, the ₦100 billion revitalization plan aims to overhaul and modernize the aging Lokoja Waterworks, a facility originally constructed decades ago to provide potable water to the state capital and surrounding communities. The Commissioner claimed that the project would include laying new pipelines, upgrading treatment facilities, and introducing smart metering systems to ensure ability and sustainable use of water resources.

But Idoko who has a long history of advocating for fiscal transparency and pro-poor budgeting has questioned the scale, timing and integrity of the project.

“While revitalizing water infrastructure is important, spending ₦100 billion on a single project in a state where basic hospitals lack gloves and syringes is an insult to the intelligence of the people,” he stated. “This is not just an excessive figure, it reeks of over-invoicing, inflated contracts and misplaced priorities.”

Idoko demanded that the state government publish a full breakdown of the proposed expenditure, including contracts, timelines and independent oversight mechanisms. He also challenged the Water Resources Ministry to explain why such a massive sum is being committed without public consultation, legislative scrutiny or an environmental impact assessment available to the public.

He further questioned the urgency and motives behind the sudden announcement, noting that “this government has not been known for prioritizing water infrastructure until now. Why now? Why so much?”

Residents of Lokoja, many of whom have long endured erratic water supply, expressed cautious optimism about the project but shared similar reservations about the cost. “We want water, but we also want honesty,” said Murtala Ismail, a trader at the Kpata Market. “If they will spend ₦100 billion, they must show us what exactly it is for.”

Michael Samuel Idoko also warned that this could become another white elephant project like several others in the past, where large sums were budgeted and released but results were nowhere to be found.

He called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (IC) to closely monitor the disbursement of funds related to the Lokoja Waterworks project, stressing that such a huge sum must not disappear under the guise of public works.

“We have seen time and again how projects become channels of looting rather than tools for transformation,” he said. “The people of Kogi deserve better. They deserve water, yes but they also deserve the truth, fairness and real value for money.”

A sources close to the Ministry of Water Resources insist the project is a “necessary investment” in the state’s future. However, with growing public scrutiny, the government may now face pressure to open up its books, justify its budgeting and prove that the ₦100 billion investment is not just ambitious but able.

Michael Samuel Idoko has vowed to continue engaging the public and using civic platforms to demand transparency, probity and equity in the use of public funds, especially in a state where every naira counts for millions living below the poverty line.

INEC Under Fire, Leaked Document Exposes Alleged Forgery in Kogi Central Senator's Recall Petition

A leaked document has exposed allegations of forged signatures in a recall petition against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central. The petition, purportedly backed by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, ex-Governor Yahaya Bello, and Ododo, aims to remove Akpoti-Uduaghan from office.

Akpoti-Uduaghan's legal team, led by Victor Giwa, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police and the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, alleging forgery of signatures. The legal team claims that over 250,000 signatures submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were forged, and only a forensic examination can the authenticity of the signatures.

INEC confirmed receiving the petition but noted that it lacked essential details such as addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses of the petitioners. After correcting these details, INEC announced plans to the signatures at each polling unit in the constituency. However, Akpoti-Uduaghan's legal team insists that the forgery allegations must be addressed before proceeding with the verification exercise.

The Ebira People's Association has condemned the recall process, describing it as a "politically motivated gang-up" designed to undermine democracy. The association accused INEC of facilitating an illegitimate recall effort and urged the commission to resist being used as a tool to subvert the people's mandate.

A related case is still pending in court, and Akpoti-Uduaghan's legal team is determined to prosecute the alleged forgery. The outcome of this case will likely determine the fate of the recall petition and Akpoti-Uduaghan's political career.

If the allegations of forgery are proven true, it would not only invalidate the recall petition but also undermine the credibility of INEC. The commission's handling of this situation will be closely watched, as it may set a precedent for future recall petitions. As the situation unfolds, one thing is certain – the fate of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan hangs precariously in the balance

The Rise of Natashalism: A Revolutionary Ideology for People-Centric Leadership By Prince Adavi

In a world where politics is often characterized by self-interest and power struggles, a new ideology is emerging to challenge the status quo. Meet Natashalism, a bold and courageous movement that seeks to reform the politics and leadership style that have long neglected the key interests of the people.

At the heart of Natashalism is Senator Natasha Akpo-Uduaghan, a visionary leader who embodies the spirit of this revolutionary ideology. As she aptly puts it, "I am Natasha, and we are Natasha" – a declaration that underscores the collective ownership and shared values that define Natashalism.

So, what is Natashalism, and how does it aim to transform the political landscape? At its core, Natashalism is a people-centric ideology that prioritizes the needs, aspirations, and welfare of the citizens above all else. It is a call to action, urging leaders to adopt a more comionate, inclusive, and responsive approach to governance.

Natashalism is built on the principles of empathy, ability, and transparency. It recognizes that leadership is not about personal aggrandizement or power consolidation, but about serving the greater good. By putting the people at the forefront of decision-making, Natashalism seeks to create a more just, equitable, and prosperous society.

The implications of Natashalism are far-reaching. It challenges the traditional notion of leadership as a privilege reserved for the few, instead advocating for a more participatory and collaborative approach to governance. By empowering citizens and amplifying their voices, Natashalism has the potential to revolutionize the way we think about politics and leadership.

As Senator Natasha Akpo-Uduaghan and her followers continue to champion the cause of Natashalism, they are inspiring a new generation of leaders and citizens to rethink their role in shaping the future. By embracing the values of empathy, ability, and transparency, we can create a world that is more just, more equitable, and more responsive to the needs of all people.

The rise of Natashalism is a beacon of hope in a world that often seems dominated by self-interest and cynicism. As we look to the future, we would do well to heed the call of Natashalism and strive for a world that is more comionate, more inclusive, and more just for all.

Justice Egwuatu Recuses Self from Sen. Natasha's Case Amid Allegations of Threats and Corruption

Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court in Abuja has recused himself from the case involving Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan's suspension. The ruling, which was expected to overturn the senator's suspension, was highly anticipated. However, Justice Egwuatu's decision to withdraw from the case has raised eyebrows.

According to reports, Justice Egwuatu's life and career were threatened, forcing him to recuse himself from the case ¹. This development comes after Akpabio's lawyers allegedly attempted to corrupt Justice Egwuatu, but he maintained his integrity. Two petitions were also filed against his character in an attempt to have the court changed, but these were rejected.

The controversy surrounding Senator Natasha's suspension began when she accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment and abuse of office. The Senate subsequently suspended her for six months for misconduct. Senator Natasha then approached the court, seeking an injunction to stop the Senate and its ethics committee from conducting disciplinary proceedings against her.

Justice Egwuatu had earlier granted an ex-parte order restraining the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions from taking disciplinary action against Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan. However, with his recusal from the case, the matter will now be reassigned to another judge.

The recusal of Justice Egwuatu has sparked concerns about the integrity of the judiciary and the rule of law in Nigeria. The incident highlights the challenges faced by judges in the country, who often come under pressure from powerful individuals and groups.

As the case continues, many will be watching to see how the new judge handles the matter. Will Senator Natasha's suspension be overturned, or will she be forced to serve out her six-month suspension? Only time will tell.

2027: Beware of Orji Kalu, Group warns Tinubu

...says APC will lose Abia North with him on ballot

Grassroot Ambassadors for Tinubu 2027 (GAFT) has advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be wary of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu if he wants to poll substantial votes from the South East geopolitical zone in the 2027 general election.

The advise came afte the pioneer leader of Arewa Summit International, Dr. Bashir Lamido suggested that with men like Uzor Kalu, Tinubu would win his reelection.

Reacting to the report, the group said that Uzor Kalu, a former Governor of Abia State currently representing Abia North in the Senate cannot be trusted.

According to a statement issued by its national coordinator, Basil Igbokwe in Abuja, Uzor Kalu has never liked or ed the Tinubu presidency, noting that he didn't vote for him in the last 2023 general elections.

The statement read thus: "The fact remains that OUK didn't vote his excellency, Distinguished Senator Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the last general election. He voted for himself in Senate without a mistake, voted for Obidogo of Labour In House of Reps without making a mistake, then voided the President's vote.

"Then on March 25th Gubernatorial/House of Assembly Elections, he voted for his younger brother, Dr. Mascot Uzor Kalu of APP and Oziomachi of PDP. What A Betrayer!

"Now he's running up and down at Aso Villa, looking for favours, forgetting that the internet never forgets."

The group however stated that it believes that President Tinubu is a smart politician and master strategist who knows Kalu's political gimmicks and eye service.

It chided Kalu for bragging about rejecting calls from a group asking him to run for president in 2027.

The GAFT noted that Kalu is notorious with such propaganda where he will always jump out to publicly deny it to curry favours, stressing that his old tricks will not fetch him anything this time.

The group urged President to recognize his genuine ers who have resolved to make the necessary sacrifices for his second term, assuring him of resounding victory in the South East geopolitical zone.

"With men like Orji Kalu, President Tinubu will fail woefully. He will and has never suppored him. Orji Kalu and his eye service will not deceive President Tinubu. Even with the Judas Iscarot hugs in Lagos, the hate in his heart is still as vibrant as ever.

"A man who believed Tinubu was his mate and cannot be seen doing better than him. A man who believed that he was jailed by President Tinubu so that he won’t able to run for presidential elections then and so, vowed to pay back at the right time? A man who deliberately gave Tinubu a voided vote and boldly showed it to the world to prove he didn’t Tinubu is the man that will make Tinubu win?

"By depending on characters like Orji Kalu, Tinubu is planning his own down fall but gladly the president has sufficient intelligence to play along and plan more strategically.

"Tinubu is very old in the game to know that Orji Kalu any day is more in bed with his opponents than anyone from the south west or south south or south east and will not look back to revenge on the President whom he publicly told any one that visited in jail that it was Tinubu that put me here.

"Other men may be sincere with Tinubu but not Orji Kalu, a man who believed he ought to have been the Senate President but Tinubu denied him?

"Where will he deliver President Tinubu? In South East where Orji Kalu has no political value because many have seen him as a self centered politician? What will he be telling the people of the South East? A man with zero credibility will not win any one’s heart in the south east. His glory of 1999 has departed unlike Asiwaju who has sustained his over the years by lifting men across Nigeria. Who did Orji Kalu lift in south east or other part of Nigerian politically that will now come to help him win elections?

"How can a man who struggled to win his senatorial election be thinking of winning the presidency? Ohafia and Abiriba people will respond to him if APC makes the mistake of giving him ticket again for the senate. APC will lose Abia North with Orji Kalu on the ballot paper but Asiwaju will win for the obvious work he is doing for the Igbos currently.

"Mr. President should ignore this character or he will fail. He will sell you out any day for his selfish aspirations. He has betrayed you so many times even before your election as President. He will fail you again because he has not changed.

"Your second tenure is guaranteed. You are in great hands and soon will see the impact of your grassroot soldiers who sincerely believe in you and do not need anything from you to return you to finish the good job you have started", the statement added.

The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s request to stop the Senate from investigating her over alleged misconduct. The Senate Ethics Committee had raised concerns about her actions during a plenary session on February 20, 2025.

On March 4, 2025, the court issued an interim injunction halting the investigation. The court also allowed Akpoti-Uduaghan to serve legal documents to the Senate and its officials through alternative means, such as posting them at the National Assembly or publishing them in national newspapers.

The court’s ruling temporarily blocks the investigation. It also requires the Senate and its officials to explain why they should be allowed to continue the investigation. Akpoti-Uduaghan contends that the process is unfair and infringes on her rights under the Constitution and Senate rules.

This ruling gives her temporary relief, and the case will continue to be watched closely.

AKPABIO VS. NATASHA: POLITICAL SEXISM OR IS THE SENATE A CULT?

I have worked in the National Assembly though in the Green Chambers as an aide earlier on. I have seen power games played in their rawest form. so I understand how the game is played. The National Assembly is not a debating society where lawmakers sip tea and exchange polite arguments.

It is a political war zone not for the weak but where lawmakers have been known to throw insults like free akara and rip agbadas like WWE wrestlers to assert dominance.

What happened to Senator Natasha H Akpoti -Uduaghan was not an accident. It was a deliberate act of political suppression disguised as Senate procedure.

If we are being honest, Nigerian lawmakers hardly follow procedure. They shout over each other, climb chairs, and in extreme cases, physical blows settle matters faster than parliamentary rules.

In this same Senate, a senator once jumped over tables to grab the mace like an action film hero. Nobody declared him “out of order.”

So, who are we fooling?

Natasha’s real offense was not breaking Senate rules; it was speaking with the kind of confidence the system does not tolerate from women. She did not lower her voice. She did not wait for permission. She did not beg.

For that, she had to be reminded of her place.

Akpabio, who now plays the role of Senate Heaster, was once a student of political hooliganism himself.

When he opposed Bukola Saraki’s leadership in the Senate, he disrupted, challenged, and broke every so-called “rule” to assert his position.

Nobody told him he was “out of order” when he threw his weight around. Nobody switched off his microphone when he flexed his influence.

Now, the same Akpabio wants to lecture Natasha on “respect”? Somebody help me understand this selective amnesia.

The message is clear:

Men in power can be loud and aggressive, but women must be quiet and submissive.

Women in power must not challenge the men, otherwise it’s labelled “disrespectful.”

Women in the Senate must clap, nod, and play backup singers while men take the lead.

The Senate allows men to play rough, but expects women to behave like obedient kitchen wives.

Natasha refused to follow that script, and Akpabio’s Senate is punishing her for it.

Natasha’s seat change was not a coincidence; it is a message and a Political Attack.

For those who don’t understand how the National Assembly politics works, let me educate you.

Where you sit in plenary matters. The further back you are, the less visible and important you become. Cameras don’t pick you up easily. If you raise your hand, it’s like you don’t exist.

The presiding officer conveniently “doesn’t see your hand.”The system gradually silences you without needing to say a word.

First, they moved Natasha’s seat to the far end, near the exit. As if waiting for her to walk herself out.

She sat there. Still, that was not enough for them.

Now, they have moved her seat AGAIN!

They have pushed her to the far end corner of the plenary, the burial ground for lawmakers who don’t talk, don’t think, don’t contribute!

That place is for the benchwarmers, the ones who come, sign attendance, eat money, shout “Aye!” and “Nay!” like programmed robots, then vanish!

Natasha is NOT a benchwarmer. She is not a political errand girl. So why are they trying to bury her voice?

If the Senate follows rules, why was Natasha not informed before her seat was changed?

She woke up one morning, came to plenary, and suddenly… bam! She was told to move. Why?

Why?

Since when did they start moving senators around like chess pieces?

Since when did they start treating elected lawmakers like secondary school students being punished for noise-making?

This is deliberate sidelining. She has been excluded from international engagements, forced to fund her own travels while her male colleagues enjoy first-class treatment.

When she dares to raise her voice?
Her microphone is killed like an unwanted radio station.

Is this a democracy or a boys’ cult?

I have worked with lawmakers. I have sat behind the scenes. I have seen how the game is played.

Nigerian politics is not about truth or debate. It is about who can intimidate who into silence.

Akpabio’s “you are out of order” was not just a procedural statement, it was an attempt to put Natasha in her place.

To remind her that no matter how educated, outspoken, or intelligent she is, she is still a woman in a system built by men, designed for men.

That is the strategy. That is the game.

What Happened to Immunity? Or Does It Only Work for Men?

Senators have immunity for whatever they say on the floor of the House.

That is the law. That is the rule.

Yet, somehow, Akpabio treated Natasha like an errant schoolgirl, as if she was breaking some sacred commandment.

The real question is:

Would Akpabio have done the same if Natasha were a man?

Would he have cut off the microphone of a male senator mid-sentence in that same manner?

We know the answer.

Natasha represents something Nigerian politics is not used to; an outspoken woman who does not wait to be given permission to speak.

The system is playing a dirty game: if we can’t stop her from speaking, they will make sure nobody sees her.

That is why this gbas gbos was different.

This is not about rules.
This is about power.

That is the real game.

The Nigerian Senate has never been a quiet place. It has never been a place where emotions are checked at the door.

It is a battleground where policies, positions, and political futures are fought for.

So why is it that the same Senate that tolerates male aggression cannot handle female confidence?

The Nigerian Senate has always been a boys’ club. Women in the Red Chambers are expected to sit quietly, nod obediently, and the men.

Natasha refused. And now, they are making her pay for it.

Senator Natasha did what every senator is elected to do. She had every right to push back.

The job of a senator is to speak, debate and challenge issues, not to sit down and watch like a guest at a wedding reception.

If that is now considered “out of order,” then perhaps the entire system needs to be reset.

If a lawmaker cannot express themselves, then what exactly are they doing in the Senate? What is their purpose?

Akpabio, as Senate President, has a duty to manage the house.

Leadership is not about silencing people; it is about managing power, balancing authority with fairness without being threatened by it.

Switching off a senator’s microphone is not leadership; it is dictatorship in disguise.

This was not about rules, this was about maintaining control.

What happened in the Red Chambers was bigger than one argument. It was a reminder that power in Nigeria is still a carefully guarded boys’ club.

A place where women are expected to be seen, not hear

This is not just about Natasha. It is about every woman in power who has been bullied into silence and deliberately made invisible in a room where she deserves to stand tall.

This is about a political culture that calls male assertiveness “leadership” but labels female boldness “disrespect.”

This is about a system that is comfortable with male chaos but afraid of female confidence.

The National Assembly is not a church. It is not a royal palace. It is a political arena. Senators should be allowed to speak, regardless of gender.

Call me ILUO-OGHENE but i remain ILUO DePOET and indeed, i have seen with my own eyes.👀

Oya, talk your talk, let’s hear your view.✍🏻

High Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan, Senator Natasha Akpoti Husband , the Alema of Warri Kingdom Speaks

I had initially resolved to refrain from commenting on the ongoing dispute between my beloved wife, Senator Natasha H Akpoti-Uduaghan, and the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio. However, recent developments have compelled me to issue this statement. It is clear that certain sentiments are being stirred up unnecessarily, distracting from the serious underlying allegations, which should concern every discerning individual with sound family values.

Without prejudice to the ongoing legal proceedings, I wish to emphasize that my wife was duly elected by her people due to the immense love, respect, and confidence they have in her and she is committed to delivery quality representation to her district and the Nation at large. She is a devoted wife, and the bond we share is deep and unwavering. She has always remained truthful, even in the face of adversity.

My wife has confided in me about her interactions with the Senate President, whom I considered a family friend. In response, I approached the matter with the utmost maturity and responsibility, as it is my duty as a traditional leader who has immense respect for constituted authority and upholds core family values, foster peace and harmony. I personally met with the Senate President and respectfully urged him to extend the courtesy and respect my wife deserves, while also honoring the friendship between us. We reached an understanding and agreed to resolve the issue amicably.

However, despite this agreement, my wife continues to express concerns about the harassment she has endured from the Senate President.

I have unwavering faith in my wife’s loyalty and am fully committed to our marriage, which is grounded in love, comion, and mutual respect. I would never trade her for anything, as she is the greatest joy of my life.

I now respectfully urge the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Senate President to treat my beloved wife with the respect and dignity she truly deserves while the relevant authorities and the court determine the underlying issues.

Nigerian Senate President's Aide Deactivates Facebook Page Amidst 100 Billion Lawsuit

Mfon Patrick, a Legislative Aide to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, deactivated his Facebook page amidst a 100 billion lawsuit. The lawsuit filed by Senator Natasha Akpoti, stems from Patrick's alleged Facebook post criticizing her attire in the Red Chamber.

According to reports, Patrick's post not only sparked outrage but also implicated his principal, Senator Akpabio in the saga. This has led to speculation that Patrick's actions may cost him his job. Senator Natasha Akpoti who has seemingly made Patrick her scapegoat has taken the matter to court, suing both Patrick and Senator Akpabio.

The situation took a surprising turn when the Senate leadership referred Senator Akpoti to the Senate Disciplinary Committee. However, it's essential to note that while the matter is still in court, the Disciplinary Committee lacks the authority to take any action against Senator Akpoti.

This incident raises questions about the responsibility of public figures to maintain respectful online discourse. While deleting social media posts may seem like an easy way out, it can have severe consequences, especially in legal cases.

In fact, deleting social media evidence can be considered spoliation of evidence which may lead to sanctions. In some cases, courts may even instruct the jury to presume that the deleted evidence would have been unfavorable to the party responsible for its deletion.

Furthermore, retrieving deleted social media data can be challenging, if not impossible. While some data may still be accessible to authorized law enforcement officials, retrieving information from hidden or deleted social media posts often requires the cooperation of the subject or a subpoena.

One thing is certain, however: public figures must be mindful of their online actions, as they can have far-reaching consequences.

As the lawsuit unfolds, it will be interesting to see how the situation develops and what implications it may have for the involved parties.

For me, I saw it coming that there will soon be a gang up to h8 her in that chamber! Every discerning minds knows what’s happening. Her rise is too geometric and beyond their understanding! Below is a comment I made on a post made by a steadfast Comrade yesterday 👇🏾

“I am not surprised by social media cretins who have refused to smell beyond their noses! If no be social media… chaiii!!! We are talking about strategic maligning of a powerful, vocal and performing Senator who should be celebrated and adopted as the face of the current Assembly for positive rating, but they said no… it must be as it used to be! When will my people learn to transit from politicking to governance? It just shows there’s serious shortage of leadership and followership conscientization in our polity. Unfortunately, the problems they have against her is not the seat arrangements she refused to take… they did that to get her reaction. The problems are these 👇🏾

- How can a first termer be this vocal and even becoming Best Performing Senator where those who have looted for 20 years are?

- How can a woman be setting the pace in a male dominated Chamber after silencing the 2 other women?

- How can an opposition Senator be achieving in a non-performing APC led Senate?

- Why can’t she just say yessir and collect her allowances and allowed them steal as usual?

They have forgotten that what can’t kill a man/woman, only makes him/her stronger. A lady that has developed a thick skin from the ordeal she experienced in the hands of the last Kogi State dispensation. Didn’t they call her a Delta woman just because she chose to be a detribalized Nigerian by marriage? Didn’t they call her a Christian who shouldn’t have dared to contest in a perceived dominated area by another religion? Didn’t they call her unprintable names? Was she not attacked severally with most notable, during peace parley in Lokoja in 2019? Wasn’t tarred roads excavated to depopulate her voting ranks? Wasn’t she rigged out until she was able to present an undisputed case that led to her victory at the appellate court?

With all these experiences, Akpabio and shallow minded people think Senator Natasha H Akpoti would just back down for another bully? Those memories are still fresh and any semblance of those harrowing experiences will definitely trigger her to react as courage to stand for herself is the only weapon she wields.

For you wailers! Senator BNAU was not elected to become “I Senator”… I am not sure she appreciates diplomacy in the face of provocation. I am not sure she is ready to be silenced.

I will only advise you to get used to it… a Social Reformer/Entrepreneur like Natasha Akpoti will not keep quiet!”

Achilles' Heels of a Dedicated Leader - Natasha in the 10th Senate By Hamza Lamisi

No doubt that one of the expected big game Changers of the 10th National Assembly, particularly the Senate, is the emergence of a vocal voice who ran one of the country's most persecuted election campaigns in Nigeria's history. From the feminine gender in a male dominated political ecosystem to being transracial in a highly conservative District; a Christian in Muslim-saturated bargain table of stakeholders, from being single to inter-tribally married in a natively and culturally republic Ebira Land. Not only to contest in a struggling opposition party but to face the most ruthless Chief Security Officer of her State, from her District.

The odds were obviously too many but Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan upturned the guess - defeating the threatening ruling party and emerging the first female Senator Kogi State ever produced. She defined the turning point of Kogi Central's representation in Nigeria's bicameral Parliament. Unlike her colleagues from Kogi State who rode on the backing of the number one citizen of the State, Senator Natasha's road to the red Chambers was never paved, it was a tough and rough journey of determination, persistence, unwavering dedication and commitment to a dream held in trust for the people.

She walked through the storms and she is shaped by the lessons - to remain bold, assertive, unbroken, unbeaten and unbowed by any circumstance, because only by struggle and perseverance freedom comes. Not unaware of the systemic dialogue, lobby and collaboration but Senator Natasha would not do so at the expense or in exchange of the People's trust and mandate for which she swore oath to protect.

Stepping into the Senate as a survivor of election and litigation battles, and looking back to the unwavering and uncommon trust of Kogi people and Nigerians by extension, notwithstanding already some months behind her fellow law makers, Senator Natasha was prepared to have the end justify the means. Barely 16 months from the very day of her swearing-in till date, Senator Natasha's contributions and impact in the 10th Senate have left many wonder if she was a first time Senator or one elected from the minority opposition. Most popular and best performing member of the current National Assembly.

Just within one year in office, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan lit 30 kilometers of road networks across Kogi Central with over 2,000 solar powered streetlights. Over 1,300 women and youth were trained and empowered by the law maker. Senator Natasha has ed the tuition fee of over 353 vulnerable indigenous students at tertiary institutions nationwide. She has faciliated federal employment opportunities for various graduates and facilitate capacity building trainings and empowerment for many others.

She brought a reliable supply of portable water to Kogi Central communities with 12 water reticulation projects with each being a massive 50,000-liter solar-powered motorized water system, which serves 300 locations and provides, 1,800 fetching taps.

To draw legislation closer to the grassroot, Senator Natasha engaged 100 constituency aides both men and women across the 57 wards in Kogi Central. She has distributed 12 trucks of grains, 10, 000 wrappers for women, 20,000 notebooks, 5,000 school bags and reconstructed and remodeled Abdul Aziz Attah Memorial College Okene (AAAMCO), Okene to smart school.

Within one year in office, Senator Natasha has attracted employments in both federal agencies and private organizations to over 30 graduates from her constituency.

Ihima community has been without police station for the past 7 years, Senator Natasha embarked on total reconstruction of Ihima Police Station which was commissioned by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

Senator Natasha distributed 4 trucks of fertilizers totalling 2,400 bags of NPK and Urea fertilizers to Kogi Central farmers. Free Business CAC registration of 2,500 SMEs. She has empowered Kogi Central students from 12 selected tertiary institutions across Nigeria with multipurpose business cart and start up fund.

Commissioned six constituency offices in the five LGAs to make government closer to the people. Senator Natasha has sponsored two motions and two bills including the bill for the establishment of Nigeria Gold Reserve, the bill for the establishment of Ihima Federal Medical Centre, motion to investigate alleged corruption and inefficiency in Ajaokuta Company Ltd and National Iron Ore Mining Company, NIOMCO amongst other.

Senator Natasha has provided 5,000 digital learning devices to both public primary and secondary schools in Kogi Central.

For her magical achievements in office and accelerated development and impact her constituency has witnessed, Senator Natasha has received and even turned down several prestigious awards. She emerged Senator of the year 2024 which is her first year in office as Senator.

Achieving these feats in less than 16 months as a first time Senator and one from the minority party and from Kogi Central, one may wonder what could be the Achilles' Heels of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in the 10th Senate and why the persecution by supposed colleagues in the Chambers. Is there a question of loyalty to individual rather than institution? Is it her performance record or her dedication to the business of legislation rather than playing the cheap political cards around the leadership of the Senate? Is it her idea of universal development of Nigeria rather than regional? After all, every Senator is of the Federal Republic Nigeria and should think and act so.

We may ask further; is anyone being threatened by her uncommon pace? Is there a question of envy or jealousy among her colleagues? Do they expect Senator Natasha to be one step behind, considering the enormity of the task on her shoulders as Senator from an already underrepresented District in the past? Is there a fear that Senator Natasha may reveal to Nigerians what is due to them from their representatives across boards? We may have more to ask than provide answers.

Meanwhile, Senator Natasha is a more than equal to the task of addressing the challenges that come with standing out in an uncommon manner. She is not one to be taught the difference between 'diplomacy and cold slavery' or 'breach of rules and violation of right'. Nobody can silence her or box her to a corner of the Senate. Beyond her voice and impact over the years as an ordinary citizen, the people have been her greatest strength and she can only get more strengthed by any attempt to silence her.

Nigerians know how rare it is to have a NATASHA among the current crop of leaders and they are obviously making sure she is protected against bully, intimidation or harassment in the Senate. The dream is of the people, by the people and for the people, and so the mandate too.

Nigerian Senate in Chaos: Akpabio's Disregard for Democratic Norms Sparks Condemnation

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, a courageous and outspoken lawmaker was walked out of the Senate chamber by the Senate President , Godswill Akpabio. This egregious act of intimidation and censorship is a clear indication that Senator Akpabio does not tolerate opposition or dissent .

The controversy began when Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan's seat was reassigned and she refused to comply with the change. The Chief Whip, Senator Tahir Monguno cited sections of the Senate rule book to justify the reassignment but Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan stood her ground, arguing that the change was unjust and targeted at silencing her.

When Senator Natasha H. Akpoti-Uduaghan attempted to speak, she was denied recognition by the Senate President because she was not addressing the chamber from her newly assigned seat. This blatant disregard for her rights as a senator and a citizen is a chilling reminder of the dangers of authoritarianism and the erosion of democratic norms.

Senator Akpabio's actions are a clear indication that he is unwilling to tolerate opposition or dissent. Senator Akpabio is more interested in maintaining his grip on power than in upholding the principles of democracy and ability.

Despite the intimidation and harassment, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan remains undeterred. Her courage and conviction are an inspiration to many and her refusal to back down in the face of adversity is a proof to her strength and character.

As we condemn Senator Akpabio's actions, we must also commend Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan for her bravery and resilience.

Nigerians should stand in solidarity with Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan and demand that Senator Akpabio respects the rights and privileges of all senators. We must also demand that the Nigerian Senate upholds the principles of democracy and ability and that those who seek to undermine these principles are held able for their actions.

The incident of February 20, 2025 at Red Chamber will go down in history as a dark day for Nigerian democracy.

Nigeria's Stand to End Rape Initiative Embroiled in Workplace Abuse Scandal

The Stand to End Rape (STER) Initiative, a prominent Nigerian nonprofit organization advocating for survivors of sexual violence, has been rocked by allegations of systemic workplace abuse and mistreatment of staff . Current and former employees have come forward with disturbing s of exploitation, harassment and unfair labor practices.

Plangnan Saleh, a former staff member detailed her experiences in an open letter, describing a "deeply toxic work environment" that contradicts the organization's mission. Saleh alleged that STER consistently rejects staff resignation letters only to terminate employment later. This practice, Saleh argued, demonstrates blatant disregard for employees' well being.

Ojoma Abrahams, another former staff member, corroborated Saleh's claims, recounting sleepless nights, emotional manipulation and gaslighting. Abrahams revealed that STER wrote a negative reference, costing her a job opportunity. Akom Nya, who worked at STER for over a year, deemed the leadership "unfit" to head any organization.

The organization stands accused of violating Nigerian labor laws, particularly regarding maternity leave. A staff member was allegedly denied leave and forced to work despite personal losses.

The whistleblowers urge potential employees, partners and ers to demand transparency and ability from STER. They emphasize the need for internal reform to align the organization's practices with its public values.

Saleh anticipates legal action from STER but asserts that evidence s his claims. Abrahams expects threats but remains resolute in exposing the truth.

The allegations have sparked widespread outrage with many calling for investigations and reform within STER. ers of the whistleblowers have expressed solidarity on social media.

At the time of publication, Stand to End Rape Initiative had not publicly addressed the allegations. The organization's leadership has yet to comment on the mounting accusations.

As Nigeria's nonprofit sector grows, instances of workplace abuse highlight the need for increased scrutiny and ability.

The STER scandal serves as a stark reminder that organisations advocating for human rights must prioritise internal integrity.

Kogi Central: Senator Natasha H Akpoticommissions water reticulation system

As part of activities to mark her one year in office, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, on Friday, commissioned water reticulation system in Kogi Central.

While inaugurating the project, she remarked that it is part of her campaign promise to ensure access to clean water for her constituents and pledged to undertake further initiatives.

"I am overwhelmed with joy and pleased that we have managed to fulfill several of our campaign promises. Water is essential for everything, and I have witnessed our people walking long distances in search of it. This was a specific concern I presented to the federal government. Today, we have twelve water reticulation projects across Kogi Central, with six ready for commissioning.

"This 50,000-liter water project is designed for durability. Each water tank is capable of serving 50 homes. We will continue to advocate for more water projects in the future. Although I belong to the PDP, I am confident that Mr President will approve our projects, as you are deserving people who deserve the best," she stated.

Similarly, she facilitated skills acquisition programmes to train and empower the people of Kogi Central, alongside other legacy projects.

These initiatives aim to empower the people of Kogi Central and address local infrastructure needs.

The skills acquisition programmes include training in fashion design, block molding and tiling, welding, fishery, and catering.

Beneficiaries from the five local government areas of the district will receive necessary equipment and startup funds for their businesses.

During the training sessions, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan emphasised the objectives behind these initiatives.

"I hope that the knowledge you gain here will be applied to your various businesses. I understand that many of you may be tempted to sell your tools, but I urge you not to do that. With patience and diligence, you can build thriving businesses.

"I am optimistic that by this time next year, when I visit your businesses, they will be flourishing. The core purpose of this training is to make you financially independent. In addition to the tools you'll receive, you will also be provided with startup funds," she added.
