The perpetual traffic bottleneck in Ikorodu garage has three other major causes, apart from street trading;
1, The red buses and danfos stopping to pick engers right in the middle of the road, under the supervision of both the Police & LASTMA.
2, Ikorodu garage is overripe for a pedestrian bridge, as the quantum of crowd ing through/crossing this portion of road on a daily basis is quite massive.
3) Viz a viz a relatively affordable cost of land, Ikorodu is probably one of the last of Lagos settlements, with a sizeable yet-to-be-utilised land mass, thus giving room for steady daily inflow of new residents. Most of the others are already saturated.
The Lagos State Govt thus needs to step up it's intervention.
