Proserpina:No. Don't . It doesn't matter. What actually matters is you working towards greatness too if you're a Yoruba. And if you're not, try to be like one—the good and great ones, though. We shall hit the success we crave. |

Proserpina:It actually really does. Connect the dots. Outside the shores of Nigeria, Yorubas are the most successful of Nigerian tribes. Around too, in most things, we're most successful, it has a lot to do with the mindset. Because the next neighbour Yoruba is achieving greatness, you want to attain it too. Then the success becomes infectious. That's the spirit. |

Soyinka lives great.
|

Soyinka has always been a great man, standing tall against injustice and oppression. He went to jail for two years for the sake of the Igbos. He fought Abacha during the power abuse era. He stands for something his whole life. That didn't stop his power of ingenuity. He won a Nobel prize still. He's a genius, just like Messi, Einstein, ... any great men.

Smartcitizen:I swear we were taught. I swear. I would come on here to relax, then I'll be seeing barrage of attack on us. Yet, we're a bit conservative, we prefer being defensive to attacking. It's that that is bringing the vitriol in us. Look I bet you'll find the shores of Africa and the world and I swear you'll never find many group of people more cordial than we are. We embrace everyone. We hospitalize and bare discriminate. But you people take that for granted. You insult us and throw dirts on us. We who strive for greatness and can't condone dirts, we don't appreciate testing our limits. |

Proserpina:UWC. Look lady, being Yoruba is even enough for anyone! Because being Yoruba means striving for greatness, adding poise, class, humility and fun to it. A true Yoruba don't feel the great unless he's reached the apogee, man or woman. If you are a Yoruba too, wherever you are, despite being a lady, you can achieve a lot by donning the Yorubas mindset—Tope Amusan, Funke Dele, Eniola Aluko, Oshoala, countless wonderful professors (too many of them pioneered the world of academics in Nigeria). |

Smartcitizen:No. These people have conquered the world. Soyinka has a Nobel Prize, it's the most prestigious award in the world. You can count how many people has had in since time, despite the world having housed >10 billion people. It's even more difficult to see Blacks winning it. For the perspective, Achebe did all he could, and exerted himself, yet he didn't even smell nomination for the award. Besides, Soyinka went to jail for 2 years because of the whole of Igbos, when their ancestors were being plagued—that's humanity from Soyinka's part, a man who stood for something. For Adebayo Ogunlesi, that one is achieving really high in the lands of the Whites. With shares in UK airports and others, he cares about uplifting humanity through businesses and successes than he ever could care about you bitter Okoro. You bitter Okoro who people contribute nothing to the country than fake foods and drink that kill kidney and livers of people. Tope Awotona left Lagos since 15, he got to America, fell and rose, and competed among the Whites and proffered solution for them and the world. Chances are you, okechuku, should be using Calendly to better your work schedule and life, but you couldn't, because you understand nothing about the corporate world. You would rather import fake drugs and electronics in Ladipo or Alaba, to kill people indirectly, and shout money na water... ![]() ![]() Don't come for my people next time, or be sure to be useful for humanity at least before you try it.😎😎😎 |

Let's go Omoluabi. Listen, you out there, as long as you're a Yoruba, partly or fully, you're destined for greatness. It's in your DNA. Never settle for less. However, if you're not the type to exert yourself, it's OK too, just do everything never to bring shame to this clan. Just always the virtue to remain humble while succeeding and achieving greatness. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Omo Yoruba lemi o, swagger. Humility is in our gene. Regardless of how rich you become as an omoluabi, you just have to stay grounded. What a virtue. We can have fun, we can exhibit pride, but you'll never see us displaying proudness. Because we are Yorubas, we're intelligent and reasonable and empathetic, the we no dey shout "money na water" or such rubbish. 3 Likes |

AustineE1:Well, all the while, you guys celebrate success through treacherous and ignominious means—heck, you even have Chidinma a scholarship, what a people! It's only lowlifes and morally–debased that live that way. The envy your generation sow to us despite our Leissez Faire won't stop our shine. We take pride in our culture, and nothing that angers you will stop us from using asoebi in the next event or making us as colourful as possible. Happiness is our guide, not fakery. |
