The cleaner, known for her humility and commitment to her job, was moved to tears as students showered her with numerous gift items, cash donations, and heartfelt praises. cheesy

In a viral video circulating online, the students gathered around the unsuspecting woman, singing her praises before presenting the gifts. Overwhelmed by the unexpected kindness, she broke down in tears, shocked expressing her gratitude while students cheered her on.

Many students described her as a motherly figure, always greeting them with a smile and diligently keeping the school environment clean. The emotional moment has since sparked reactions online, with many praising the students for their thoughtfulness and encouraging others to show appreciation for unsung heroes in society.

Saw a story on fp about the girl beaten for tendering her resignation and it reminded me of my own first and last time working for a Nigerian employer, three words I use to describe it, modern day slavery.

I was fresh out of school and eager to please and even show my prowess, I didn't wanna sit at home like a cow munching on free food cuz my parents hate laziness alot, so I took myself to one company to find a job, met my boss, he was clearly understaffed and doing alot by himself, so he didn't have time to interview me, based on how he was choked up I decided to lend a hand, ran some registration online and did alot of tasks unsupervised, he was impressed so he hired me without an interview or a recruitment process, I was happy when I started until he started getting abusive weeks later.

First he calls me during ungodly hours, after closing he doesn't have the right to call me right? But he calls when he feels like, and yells why didn't you do this before going home, why didn't you do that, he was paying me 30k, this was 2016, and he makes me stay after closing hours by refusing to show up so we can conclude and I can go home, I close by six, baba won't show up until 7-8 so I work overtime, and when it's time for salary he will owe me, then he will deduct here and there for imagined transgressions, that time you were late 30mins, you made this mistake and I lost so so money, it was exhausting I tell you, but I didn't quit cuz like I said I was eager to please.

Here's the final straw that broke the camels back, he was understaffed, na later I hear why all his staff resigned and ran, he was an abusive pig, when I started I was supposed to be in charge of everything ICT based on I'm a computer sc graduate, he was supposed to get a receptionist and a cashier, he told me he'd hire them shortly that I'm the first of many. He also has students he's teaching IT skills, this man doesn't have a single IT skill, he has no business running an ICT school, but he's charging over 20 students obscene amount of money as school fees and he's not teaching them anything valuable, one time I was teaching web design and he came and yelled that why am I teaching them that, the money they're paying isn't enough for them to learn something that advanced, that am I stupid? In front of the students o,

He first started by begging me to substitute as a teacher, so I started teaching, while running the ICT tasks like networking and everything computer related, I no complain cuz I was happy impacting knowledge and the students adored me, later I start receive payments, becoming the cashier and started attending to customers becoming a receptionist, and he was paying me salary for one position instead of three, after a month I brought the issue up, that's when our problems started, sometimes he will call me after I've gone home that money I collected isn't complete and I stole from him, it's as if the man dey take fentanyl, I'll have to visit him and go through transaction records at night to absolve myself cuz I haven't stolen since I was born, his excuse for not hiring more people is, he hasn't found a suitable person, so I brought my sister to him to employ. Then he started creating a riff between me and my sis.

Sometimes I'll be working and he will sit her down and they'll be discussing me and laughing, my sis thought he's being jovial but no, he's bantering and gossiping his employee, and that is reducing his status but the pig no know, this is despite him owing me backlogs of salary, he refused to pay so I won't run away, I got fed up.

One day I dressed up and came to work, after deep reflection the night before, I pitied my life and felt devalued, so I came to work like nothing happened, then I sat at the lounge chatting and pressing my phone making sure he saw me, I was noisy as hell too, normally he'd yell and I'll scramble like a scared duckling running from a hawk, but as he realize I have had enough and I fit beat am up at that point, he didn't say anything, customers started coming and he was the only one attending to them all, I didn't lift a finger, he couldn't believe it, he was sweating all day, I did that till my closing time and came to his office, look him in the eye and said, I QUIT, brothers and sisters, that was the last time I ever worked for any Nigerian employer, I left the salary for him too, I buckled up and I have been earning online ever since, don't sell yourself to slavery just because you wan survive, the peanuts they pay isn't enough to loose your sanity for.
But on a serious note why do you study computer science and tolerating that shit? I have never seen a computer science jobless, is not even possible.

Na wah

Most private corporate organizations are modern day slave plantation.

For that sum they pay they want to take over your life and drain the last drop of blood in you.

I was in a firm when I first moved to the city,

Poor pay but I had to accept as I needed to find my feet.

As time went on I started having opportunities to do private gigs from time to time.

One time I went for a brief at efcc towards closing hours.

This my boss is barely in the office, he comes in that day and nearly blew up my phone with countless calls but I couldn't see it as I had submitted my phone at the efcc gate. So upon coming out, I quickly returned the call to find out what the emergency was only for him to tell me that he came into the office and didn't see me reason he was calling, he didn't need me for anything specific that was the day i started making concrete plans for my exit from the firm.

Oh, another incident, after about a year and some months of working with the firm, principal comes in one day that we need to start having morning devotion and prayers before work starts for the day, this is someone that's barely in the office,I got irked because at my point of employment, I was employed for the role of an associate and not a prayer warrior so I refused to the other ladies.

They went ahead to report to the boss who called me to query my actions and I plainly told him it was against my principle and he would not raise the issue anymore.

Fast forward to the next year or so after the overzealous girls had grown tired of the whole prayer shenanigans and had fallen apart with the boss for different reasons, i get to find out that they didnt even like the idea of the morning prayers yet would report my refusal to .

Bottom line, most Nigerian employers know the sycophant nature of most employee and would exploit it to the maximum it left for you to stand up for yourself even you may stand the risk of being fired but then, its something that's bound to happen anyway so stop taking BS from employers.

It's understandable; my cousin had some marital issues in October. Although he has thrown in the towel. He has been a faithful and very open husband to his wife for over 9 years. Then suddenly the wife started developing that ego attitude. From buying properties without the husband's consent to attending evening parties without informing her husband. Her business is booming, but still, she will disturb him for virtually everything. At any slight misunderstanding, she threatens to quit the marriage. She even had the guts to rent an apartment and left her marital home, leaving behind her husband and 2 kids. We attended one family meeting to another, just to make peace. Still, this woman wouldn't let peace rain. At the last meeting I attended, I told them that nobody should ever call me for any meeting again and that I was fed up. My bro told everyone present that he was no longer interested in such a problematic, and stress filled marriage.

He took the kids to the woman and warned her never to come near his house again. A month down the line bro has added weight now looking like a fresh agege bread. What's the secret I asked. The response was peace of mind. He can eat once a day, and he doesn't feel hungry. He sleeps when he likes and wakes up when he likes. I was even told that the ex-wife was making some reconciliatory efforts. Although she dare not call me.
These women are very stupid, as men we should prioritize our peace, if not for procreation what do we need woman for? They can't allow peace to reign?

Hmm man.

What did I just read, how can aunty threaten divorce and you mellowed down.

As for me, I would have left the marriage first and sent her back to her father's house.

Mind you I'm married. Mine once tried that.

I told her absolutely let's get a divorce and even started browsing on my smart TV how to get a divorce in Nigeria

She left the parlour and later begged me that night.

Don't EVER LET A WOMAN DO THAT YOU, abi you marry am free?

As commenters have advised, take some time off for yourself...I have a guest house close to my house were I go chill atimes in the guise of a journey were I can have some peace and quiet.

I've been married close to 4 years now with a 2 year old boy, but marriage isn't what I envisioned it to be.

Like the said, if marriage was renewable every 5 years, I wouldn't even bother. I feel like I'm losing myself to this thing called marriage, aside from the responsibilities that comes with providing, the mental and psychological stress.

I've never been this stressed in my life and I'm someone who's usually able to handle a lot of stress, I just feel like I need time alone from everything and everyone, no calls, no text. Nothing.

And my wife even makes it worse with threats of leaving the marriage over any small issue. I think the biggest mistake of my life is getting married and I know a lot go men go through this to but they can't talk.

And that's why a lot of men die young these days.

I feel your pain sir, but can we do, I'm tired already, l left my house since Last week, I told them I traveled, I need to rest. I only send money for keep up

What's really Happening?

I'm really mindful of the places I go these days because when people see that you dress well smelling nice, they conclude you have money and they start billing you. If and when I have money, and someone needs help, my conscience can never allow me leave without helping such a person. If I am unable to help, I feel really bad and sad within me. But when I don't have, nobody helps me. Life!

I try as much as I can to stay healthy and out of police trouble cos if I fall sick or fall into trouble, I have nobody to assist me... Them say cow wey nor get tail, na God dey drive flies from it's anus o. I don't look for people's trouble at all. Slap me, I leave u to God.

A pastor and his church gathered to destroy their Bibles.

The pastor and his felt misled by the Bible and decided to destroy it as a form of protest ignorantly.

The pastor claimed the Bible had deceived them for over 400 years now. He questioned the Bible's authenticity, saying some parts are missing and incorrect, siting some examples.

He made several misleading claims: that some Bible portions are missing, that the Bible's portrayal of God is untrue, and that the Bible contains bad things despite being called "holy."

Additionally, the pastor criticized the Bible's origins, specifically King James' involvement.
He viewed King James as a slave trader and disagreed with his role in translating the Bible.

However, the pastor's arguments and that of his church , were based on misinformation and a lack of understanding.

This incident serves as a warning: we must be cautious about the churches we attend, the messages we hear and the pastors we follow. Misguided leaders can alter our perceptions of life and God, leading us astray.

Watch the video to hear more reasons he has to say.

The month of Sha'ban, etiquettes and preparation for Ramadan.

According to the NSCIA counting, today marks the 1st of Sha’ban, meaning we have less than a month until the arrival of Ramadan — the most blessed month of the year.

Sha’ban is the month in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fasted the most after Ramadan. He encouraged fasting in this month as a way to prepare for Ramadan.

Usamah ibn Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
"I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, I do not see you fasting in any other month like you fast in Sha’ban.’

He (peace be upon him) replied, ‘That is a month between Rajab and Ramadan that many people neglect. It is a month in which deeds are raised to Allah, and I like for my deeds to be raised while I am fasting.’”

What Should We Do in Sha’ban?

1. Increase in Fasting
- The Prophet (peace be upon him) encouraged fasting in this month.
- If you can, try fasting up to mid-Sha’ban. Or at least on Mondays and Thursdays and
(13th, 14th, 15th).

- For those who have missed fasts from the previous Ramadan, now is the best time to make them up before the new Ramadan arrives.

2. Strengthen Our Connection to the Qur’an
- Increase your recitation and improve your fluency in reading before Ramadan starts.
- Set a daily goal to prepare yourself for completing the Qur’an in Ramadan.

3. Increase in Sadaqah
- Start giving more charity now so that you enter Ramadan already engaged in acts of generosity.

4. Make Dua
- Ask Allah to bless you to witness Ramadan in good health, wealth, and strong faith. Many people were with us last year but are no longer here. May Allah grant us the opportunity to worship Him this Ramadan. Ameen.

May Allah allow us to reach Ramadan with sound health and faith, and make it a means of forgiveness and elevation for us all.
Jazakallah

So, I was in Walmart to pick up some items. We had already made a list before leaving home of what to buy. As a busy guy, I always like to stick to the list and the budget. After getting everything we came for, she suddenly ed she had to buy herbal tea and some other items that weren’t on the list.

I stood waiting around while she wandered through the store, looking to add more items to our list. Why is it that women find it hard to stick to a shopping list and budget? This makes me angry, and it’s not the first time. Every time we go shopping, we end up wasting time.

I’ve also heard a couple of friends complain about this same issue. Ladies, women, you need to stop this habit—it drives us men up the wall!
