Sorry I had to truncate your post while quoting it, I didn't want the whole comment quoted due to its length.

I very much agree with you on how society is robbing people of a number of things especially Choice and Individuality. On Love, maybe I wouldn't put it the way you did.

Tesla (whom you quoted), though a great guy did take his seclusion a little too far. Not that I don't agree with him though, I actually do know that originality thrives in seclusion.

However, I also think that the society is something we all are a part of and we cannot exactly get rid of it that easily. The society was formed with good intentions but lile most things, it is being abused. I guess humans rarely know when to draw the line. Sometimes (not always), the way to win society is to keep things from it. Society doesn't accept what it doesn't believe in and it not only rejects that new idea, it criticizes it, chastises it and ostracise it.

What angers me the most about society is their need to be judgemental, hypocritical and/or sentimental. As long as they spot individualism, their eyes go red and they begin to fight it, not realising that most of those who history taught us achieved great things did so by doing things in a different way - individualism.

In the end, the advice I always give when these talks come up is this: Fight the society silently and don't conform or care about the opinions they force down others' throat; while striving to make the most of your life. When you're powerful enough, rich enough, old enough and wise enough, you'll be able to have a voice they won't be able to take from you.
So true, whatever a rich person says is considered as wisdom, even if is the most absurd thing ever. And yeah, Tesla took it too far, guy died alone, that's no way to live.

At least people abroad still have a chance to be whomever they want irrespective of tags.

Here in Africa you don't have a choice than you conform to wishes of society and parents unless a young person is rich.

I have come to the understanding that it's because young people can't get proper jobs to fund for themselves, that's why our parents have been able to cage us, not because of Nigeria parenting.
yeah you are right. Here in Nigeria, we also practise collectivist culture where the rights of the family or collective supersedes that of the individual. There is fear of rejection by the family and each person is encouraged to do what is best for the family or society as a whole rather than for themselves.

But the west practises individualistic culture where Independence is valued; there is much less of a drive to help other citizens or communities than in collectivism. Relying or being dependent on others is frequently seen as shameful, and young people are encouraged to do things on their own; to rely on themselves.

So like you said, unless a young person is rich, he is stuck with whatever society dictates for him.

guys am I the only one who experiences this? people always question me whenever they see me that why don't I come out or why don't they usually See Me in the street or why am I always indoor? is it a crime to live one's life the way one pleases? I'm the type that don't see going out as a necessity unless I've got an important thing to do outdoors... I even feel disturbed sometimes if my friends come visiting. why don't people realize not everyone can be like them?
That's society for you. "The mind is sharper and keener in seclusion and uninterrupted solitude. Originality thrives in seclusion free of outside influences beating upon us to cripple the creative mind." - Nikola Tesla.

Society is robbing people, especially young people of a lot of things.
1. Choice:The choice to be single, to not be on social media, to be a nerd, to get high and marvel Diotima's ladder of love or to be an atheist. Society robs the youth from thinking, from questioning women at the bus stops who are ing out Jesus flyers or who want you to attend NASFAT about them briefly explaining platonism and via Socrates dialectic method, opening their eyes. Faith is the new lust. Society wants everyone, not just the youths, not just introverts alone, to bow down, to give in to their demands.

2. Being ourselves. We are scared to have an opinion because if you are a Trump er for example, you are automatically a racist bigot. We are scared to end up on the losing side. We are scared to take opportunity because being an opportunist is bad and it is better to be unnoticed according to society. To be the majority, to be like everyone else is safer. We must have a label on our head. She is a lesbian, he is gay, he is too feminine, she is too masculine. We judge and are afraid to be judged. We are ive aggressive. We are afraid to speak up. We are afraid of "no" and failure. We are afraid of living, just crossing off the days in the calendar, in anticipation of what? Death? Don't live like that bro.

3. Love. Our society is now fast food everywhere. In each aspect of it, food. It has to be fast. It has to be a drive thru. Love? Screw that. Who wants a mortgage, a commitment, and old wrinkly wife with a tummy that's already pushed out four kids. It's better to have a fling, to have a moment of lust, to say "I love you" just after four weeks of dating. Dating is the new marriage, you dont believe me? Look around you. We stopped caring and acknowledging true beauty. We are even dumb to not know that all bodies are similar, we are contaminated with short term gratification. I was raised a muslim, mum's a Christian though, catholic, I can speak Arabic almost like a mother's tongue, also went to catholic school, but religion wasn't it for me. That was a choice, you make yours.

It's not easy at all especially the emboldened
These days I stopped caring. If anyone makes up their mind about the kind of person I am without meeting me first, all the best to them. There was a time when I would avoid some paths so as not to run into certain people, but these days, I don't care anymore.

When I go to events and someone points at me to address the crowd, I step up calmly and say whatever I have to say like I've known them forever, not giving a damn.

Also when I don't feel like going out with anyone, I let them know right away, saves me the hassle of stressing myself. Whoever tries to please people all the time ends up unhappy himself/herself.

I just saw news this evening that Nokia have struck a deal with Qualcomm on releasing a phone with this chipset. I'm not a fan of Nokia because of
1. Android one
2. Small batteries
3. Their fuzzy charging ports

If Xiaomi put it in the 10 series then that's definitely my next phone.

But 5G implementation in Nigeria is another post entirely on its own.
Exactly, we might not have it till 2025

Qualcomm has announced a new SoC for the Midrange segment and they're naming it Snapdragon 690.

This SoC is designed to battle with the Midrange 5G options offered by others silicon producers like Kirin, Exynos, Mediatek and even surprise surprise, Spreadtrum grin grin grin grin grin grin.

Let's look at this chip.

Note: this chip is new so some information may be changed later on.

Process/Die size : 8nm, this is the same as the SD720g. This is going to be a very battery efficient SoC.

Big.little arrangement: 2:6 that is 2 powerful cores and 6 efficient ones

Core number: Octacore (8 )

Core type: Two Kryo Gold 560 based on ARM Cortex A77 clocked at 2.0GHz

Six Kryo Silver 560 based on ARM cortex A55 clocked at 1.7GHz

GPU: Adreno 619

Memory: LPDDR4X running at 1866MHz with dual 16-bit channel .

Connectivity: The big one here is that the Snapdragon 690 is a 5G chipset, it uses an integrated Snapdragon X51 modem.

The modem now adds for 5G sub-6GHz with global band . The speeds here scale up to 2500Mbps downstream and 1200Mbps upstream on sub-6 networks, utili to 100MHz of spectrum bandwidth. There is no mmWave connectivity which is not a big issue for most markets.

Camera: The Spectra ISP for the camera has also been upgraded bring it in line with the higher end chips. It now offers up to 192MP still pictures or up to 48MP sensors with multi-frame noise reduction or a dual-camera setup in tandem of 32+16MP sensors. The chip has a 10-bit capture and display pipeline, allowing it 4K HDR capture and display – although we didn’t see mention of 4K60 recording.

WiFi: WiFi 6

Bluetooth: 5.3

Antutu benchmark: Unknown

Opinion box: I'm very pleased with the die size. It means that the SoC can do more and heat less. It would also conserve resources and save battery leading to longer screen on times (SoT). The new big little arrangements seem to be new standard now so there's no problems with that. The use of the A77 cortex cores is a huge deal for heavy s. The all powerful G90T, SD720G and even the SD730 all use ARM cortex A76 for their heavy lifting. This chip promises to be more powerful. It could be a good reason why they choose to not clock it too fast. 2.0GHz seems fair even though I would have liked to see a 2.2Ghz. The GPU is also very capable. A 600 class GPU so expect good things from this bad boy.

Memory, cameras and Bluetooth are standard. The 5G modem is the highlight of this SoC but it is a x51 instead of an X52 found on the SD700 series so it will not connect to an mmWave radio tower which has the fastest 5G speeds currently. It's a midranger sha so, what did I expect?

Possible phones: None announced yet. But whoever can utilize this chipset is probably my next customer, and for a fair price too, less than $240, €200 or N100,000. Na beg I dey.

lmao, why you dey beg, you get money nagrin waiting ti see what xioami uses for RN10

Their phones are for tech illiterates, their fans either don't know better or don't care. They are satisfied with crap. The last transsion device I used was hot 6x. That phone nearly made me lose my sanity. My friends and I would team up to play pubg and I would always be the one begging them not to push as my gameplay was lagging terribly.

The only way to get chicken dinner was to camp. The last time I played pubg on it, I had the last guy in the sights of my scope. He wasn't even looking in my direction, a very easy kill it would have been. I zoomed in on him, said a silent prayer and pulled the trigger, guess what? I ended up dead instead. I quit the game in anger and didn't play for nearly a month.

People who chose to be dum.b want others to be dumb. too.
Ask a child where the moon came from, they'll say is God, wtf do a child know about God.
When one start thinking like this as a child, they eventually stop asking questions.
Exactly. The fact that there are earth like planets in habitable zones, 550 light years away too far for current telescopes to handle, let alone next generation of telescopes shows we still have a lot to figure out about the universe. But some people think they have it all figured it in a text that claims the earth is five thousand years old. I basically stopped arguing with religious people because, you can't explain anything to anyone that has abandoned logic.

My childhood interest in astronomy and how the earth began in the first place made me an agnostic atheist. While I do not believe in the existence of any deity, it seems to me that the universe lies and will always lie beyond the grasps of any intellectuals on earth, I may be wrong though.

Growing up and reading a lot about space travel and such, I was marvelled at the incredible observations by so many scientists of all times and the greatness of the human mind, I was also appalled at how insignificant and transient human beings were on a grand scale. The sun in the sky, more than a million times bigger than the planet we are living on is only one of the 300 billions in the Milky Way Galaxy, which in turn is only one of the billions of galaxies in the universe. In addition, multiverse proponents say there may even be multiple universes. It amuses when people say they are going to heaven when they die. Which heaven, and in which universe?

Just as the many questions I had, how life started on earth, how the mind works, and what is the nature of time and consciousness? Philosophers and scientists have grappled with these questions for thousands of years. The universe is so inherently and profoundly complex that I believe it will elude human understanding forever, I may be wrong though.

It is depressing to think there are hard limits in human beings, and nothing demonstrates this better than the continued search for knowledge and curiosity, not indoctrination.
