[quote author=Opiso101 post=121043668]Congratulations on your wife’s Visa.
I will be applying for my wife’s Visa next month, I have a few questions
-what and what did you submit
- How long did the visa approval take
- How old is your marriage

Thank you

Bank statement covering both of us
Letter of Authorisation (because it's my own )
Picture evidence including screenshots and Instagram post and bank transactions
Vignette etc

Visa approval took less than a week

Wedding is less than 2 months

Hello

Change of name isn't necessary please

Would you want the hassle of getting a new port when it isn't necessary? Your marriage certificate is more important than name change

Cheers
Thanks very much for the .
For the change of name, my wife isn't considering the change of name right away but she would like it changed in the future perhaps when she wants to renew her port in few years time.
So the question is to know if their is anything that she needs to do in Nigeria before she travels to the UK.
Hairybelly01: 9:13pm On Feb 18, 2023
Please I need your assistance on this.

My wife was just granted her visa but she's still bearing her maiden name and would be ing me in the UK soon.
What and what needs to be put in place to have her surname changed before she leaves Nigeria.
Thanks

A CV is not necessary since it's not a verifiable document.

Dear Family,

Thanks for all the help rendered here.
Please I just submitted my Visa application and all documents stated in my CAS and booked biometrics using self service at Ikeja.

My study gap is 11years but I didn't my CV. Please should it be a concern and if it's going to be a concern, can I submit it on the day of my biometrics?

Please note that I included two work reference letters

Good evening Fam

Ooooh I see.

Thanks for the .
giselle237:
you wont be presenting your original certificate in the flesh lol… all submissions are done electronically via .. no physical
Hairybelly01: 6:33pm On Oct 18, 2022
Thanks so much for the response.

Yes it was the same scanned copy I used for my ission process.

My concern is during my biometrics and the document I'll be presenting. I really don't know how it works. I don't know if I'll be submitting the original certificate alongside my port.
dduchess90:
Hello

Was it the same scanned copy you used during your ission process?

You can use same for your visa application

If you can't find the original before your enrollment at Uni if your visa is successful then you need to get a police report and certify your original copy as true in the court

Cheers

Please I need advice from people who knows a way around this.

I can't find my Original BSC certificate and that is the only thing that is stated in my CAS to present to apply for VIsa. I have the clear scanned copy of the original tho.

How do I go about this please?
Hairybelly01: 2:35pm On Oct 10, 2022
I greet you all.

Please I have a quick question just to be sure on my next moves.

If I declare in my CAS statement that I'm single as at the time of application and I later get married 2 months after, does that mean I can't bring my dependent in because I declared I'm single in my CAS application?

I would appreciate an urgent reply please.

Please which bank is the best for Form A. I have someone working in Zenith and Providus bank but which other banks including these two that is best for me to use.

Also please the rate that one would be debited, is it based on the exchange rate or based on the bank?

Dear friends.

Please I need your advice. I have an offer for a digital marketing course in Salford university(Manchester), RGU (Scotland) and Edinburgh Napier(Scotland).

Which would you recommend I go for please?

Please note that Edinburgh Napier has a 4months break but they are demanding payment of full tuition at matriculation which is tough for me now and is also £4,000 pounds higher in tuition fee than Salford and RGU.

Greetings to the house, just felt I should share my experience at the border entry.

Officer: hello
Me: hi
Officer: what is your purpose here?
Me: I came to meet my wife
Officer: so you are on dependent visa?
Me: yes
Officer: what is your wife doing here?
Me: she is a student of Anglia Ruskin University
Officer: what is she studying?
Me: MBA
Officer: what kind of MBA and what is her specialization
Me: well there are many courses for options and it include innovation, strategy, leadership, entrepreneurship and so on... (imagine I don't know this, how unsettling the question was)
Officer: what do you do in Nigeria?
Me: I work for a consulting firm (I mentioned the name of my company and I think he was impressed)
Officer: what will you be doing here?
Me: I will another consulting firm here (at this point, I was just wondering where this is leading to, though I was pretty confident because I was kind of prepared)
Officer: how long is your wife's study?
Me: 18 months
Officer: so after 18 months what will you guys be doing?
Me: we will be going back to Nigeria (for my mind, I say this guy, go back abi , okay ooo)
Officer: where is the letter you were given from UKVI?
Me: (this got me a bit shaking because I cannot where the letter was, I know I packed it but cannot where it was. I searched my bag and my laptop bag, only for it to dawn on me that the letter was in the bag I checked in, I say mogbe, I begin to pray in my mind that this will not lead to anything because its already a lot of questions)
Now the officer waited and looked at me, he noticed I could not bring the letter out.
Me: so i told him the letter is in my bag that I checked in
Officer: do you have any money with you?
Me: (I have prepared for this, so I was very confident, so by the time I brought out a bundle of 20 pounds notes, that was the end of the whole question)
Officer: alright, welcome to UK.

He stamped my port and gave it back to me. Then I started to breathe normally again.

The lesson here is to be prepared and make sure you have money with you. I think the cash in pounds saved me from further questions and issues. I have heard they can depot if you do not have any cash with you.

Good luck to you all...
Cheers.

People there said the school and city is very good, except for the weather that is extremely cold. I’m waiting for my transcript so that I can put my application forward to the school
Please go ahead to submit your application without your transcript. I got an ission there without submitting a transcript and it wasn't requested for in my conditional offer

All the ission I have gotten states that I should my transcript.. which at the moment, I don't have... I don't even know what to do.
Means I'm lucky then, I got a conditional offer only asking to an adjusted copy of my personal statement with two simple questions to answer

Is it a must to transcript for the school when applying, that's stage I'm now n my transcript is not ready for now because of this useless uni strike, thou I'm still looking for ways whereby I can get hold of the transcript.
No it's not a must. Some schools give conditional offers without transcript.
And some don't even request for it after all

Is it important to declare visa refusal when applying to schools?
I know it is important for visa applications to the embassy but not sure if it's important for schools.

Thanks so much for this . I just want to be sure if the affidavit would be accepted by the UK embassy.
yusufabayomio:
You may likely need your WAEC certificate for proof of your English proficiency. You can swear an affidavit of one and the same person in a high court. I did mine for about 3k and you'll get it the same day. The affidavit will declare that your name is written in a short form and its the same person as you.

Hello all
Please i need your advice on this. i am applying for a masters degree program in the UK. For the Student visa application, is WAEC certificate a mandatory document to if i submit my BSC certificate. I have my waec certificate but don't want to use it because of the difference in name. Waec certificate bears 'Seyi' while other documents including Int. port bears 'Oluwaseyi'
