OMG!! At first, i thought it was one of my siblings writing this. The only difference is the number of children and i cant even deal. Some of us have accepted our fate, but my faith wont be shaken. These issues are at the place of prayer most importantly that God should protect and spare my mums life. I have no other advice, its same thing here. 5 Likes |

See, on e thing I hate about Nigerians and their advise committee is that they can't and won't leave the past alone, all u will read here are people asking questions like Didn't u see such behavior before u married her? Why did u do this in the past? Omg, the deed is done and over, people want solutions because they want to move beyond the past but our able bodied counselors just won't leave the past alone, they rant their blame game all day long. Solutions not pointing fingers...kai! |

oshorstan: How's that spiritual husband case?, a lady is beating up men who try to molest her spiritually and you prescribe spiritual husband medication. ..She is making sure that the spiritual husband whose main purpose is immorality doesn't get close to her. She is spirituallying sensitive and strong. |

It's actually a VERY GOOD dream, very few people can fight back in their dreams. All these men bashing u that u need deliverance, if you see how the run from witches trying to just flog them small, you go shock! They are prescribing deliverance right left and center but they are same people flying everywhere in their dreams, jumping from one tree to another eating all bannanas in the land yet we wonder why fruits are expensive ![]() Small nightmare like this, they go shout wakeup the entire neighborhood instead of standing their ground and fight back... Your dream is very good, nothing to deliver you from. It also shows u don't like immorality so u are quick in your spirit to put a stop to it . |

eosigwe: Honestly, you escaped to Madagascar lol.. and I believe thats why most pastors kids will always run to another state to study just to get away from all forms of scrutiny, Being a pastor is a calling no be force. I didn't realize there are many pastors kids on nairaland, it's well o but regardless of what happened, Heaven is still real, for every one shall give of their works. cococandy: Thank you jare, walmart employees make more than that!!, even CNAS make 3-4 times that. And no one sees anything wrong in salary situation of Nigerian Nurses. |

mrjojo: Lol...this one na serious matter, same reason I vowed never to marry a pastor and if my husband eventually becomes a pastor, divorce is looming, can never subject my kids to the scrutiny pastors kids go through. They don't have a life at all. Their lives are just what the church expects it to be and they report you like no man's bussines, your parents won't even care to investigate the situation, the verdict is "Guilty" . What time do thy have to raise kids? Church programs and counselling every day even people calling in the middle of the night, it's just too much abeg.... Pastors kids are always on trial, I prefer my kids to know christ in all sincerity than pretend to be born again because people expect them to be ...I no fit shout abeg. Spiritually, physically, emotionally, they will always be on trial forever, church even feel like they are entitled to any and every information about you. And No, the life of a pastors child isn't normal. 4 Likes 1 Share |

This is serious o! Nigerians don not like their nurses at all, kai but it's the solution that matters. Comionate care is what keeps ringing out loud here, Nurses please smile, smile, smile, show some kindness, even under pressure, please be polite and yes no yelling at patients, they are there for help. That's all Nigerians needs from you. Secondly, don't expect patients to give you money to appreciate you, thank you is very enough and fulfilling even when you don't get thank you, still do your job with all diligence , that's another thing Nigerians wants. Be selfless in your Jobs. |

This is a beautiful thread and only those with open mind can see that. People's experiences, neglect of healthcare system in Nigeria and wonderful nurses trying to explain what actually goes on. It would be useless after all these complaints, we sit around and do nothing. When I read people's posts, I try to figure out their talking points and by God's grace I have read this thread couple of times already because I just don't want to have my own opinion, I also want to see what others have to say and some have been very strong in their opinions about nurses, it's very disheartening and deeply troubling that this noble profession is viewed very negatively. I have taken time to deduct the problem of comionate care, well that's what this thread is about, so can we bury the hatchet and face solutions. Nurses feel like they doing their best while the masses disagree. So everyone complaining, how can Nurses serve you better? Bear in mind of all the rules and regulations breathing down the Nurses neck, the extra heavy workload they have to carry, the ratio of one nurse to a patient, the lack of continous education for nurses, lack of equipments, so many improvise sutuations, so in this awesome Jungle of Nigeria, how can Nurses do better? 2 Likes |

TheArchangel: I am astonished at how things operate here, I just don't know what to believe, in all my years, I have never seen a nurse discharge a patient, the nurse can't even tell you what your results are neither can they diagnose anything except when using the nursing process or care plan. it's very unbelievable to me and ever since I read that, I have not had peace and I've been thinking out loud how that is even possible, even a nurse practioner has her practice limit. Even in a private hospital, how is it possible or did nursing practice change in Nigeria? Any nurse who even adds that to her job description is just looking for trouble, that license isn't important to him/her. But this is Nigeria, anything is possible. But What do I know? Anything goes. 1 Like |

WellEndowed: Except things changed because in 2005-2007, it wasn't like that, nurses never discharged patients and any nurse discharging a patient when the doctor hasn't signed off on that discharge is risking her license, it doesn't matter if patient is stable or not and I agree nurses are advocates for patients, that lady shouldn't have been discharged. I love this thread, I am learning things I thought I knew, nurses now discharge patients, its well oo ,only in nigeria. |

TheArchangel: Thank you for correcting that. NURSES do not discharge patients, a doctor must sign off on that... People are really misinformed. 1 Like 1 Share |

damiso: My dear, you are complaining of gloves, lol, so u havent seen where a nurse improvised plastic bag in place of gloves? Or wear gloves on one hand just to save the other pair, you haven't seen what really goes on. Ever wondered what happens to the remaining gloves, lol... naija is dog eat dog. No patient should be required to buy gloves, it's completely the responsibility of the hospital. Before Nurses are blamed, start from the top. 3 Likes |

Richy4: Please let me answer your question with a question, of all the description you see on jobs sites hiring nurses, ever seen when the company stipulates that the nurse will be a receptionist, cashier, errand nurse, records and book keeping or even house cleaner? and yes Nigerian nurses do all that and more and it's not written in black and white on their job description. And yes, companies may choose to slash a nurses pay and when you have limited jobs in nigeria, what do want them to do? Nigerian Nurses are even enforcers of hospital policies that has nothing to do with their jobs or money will be deducted from their salaries. Please, try being undercover nurse in nigeria for one day and tell me what you think. 4 Likes |

All these people bashing Nurses with reckless abandon, take it easy o, tomorrow never tells you who helps you. And yes there are unruly Nurses just like there are unruly employees everywhere,. What I see here is continous bashing but not one person have even suggested how to make it better. Someone asked if you are paid to smile or show comion, answer is yes because it comes with the salary and regular salary helps the facial bones to smile lol...People keep saying don't be a nurse if u don't have the calling.... I laugh because 90% of nurses go into this profession because of money, easy access job and alternative to medicine, the 10% that do it from their heart are over shadowed by the 90% who are doing it for money. While I accept that Nigerian Nurses needs to be retrained not just in comionate care but in skills training, I also say that the society and masses have contributed "bigly" to what we see in the health setting. Nurses are the first point of between the patient and the doctor and 90%of the time, the nurse sees to all your health needs, if u come here and bash them and yet refuse to talk to them one on one at the point of care, then you are crying wolf for nothing. If you refuse to aid in revamping the healthcare system in your country, then u complain in vain. If you refuse to report unruly nurses, then you are also hurting the health of others. The lady who had CS and your night nurse never showed care, you didn't report her neither did u directly onish her rather you left it there for another to be harmed by ur inability to call things to order, how do we help sanitize the health care system? Like I said before, we can sit and complain or we can help produce better nurses. You want great nurses yet even the Rich cant even start a grant set up to help retrain nurses or even other healthcare professionals. Nursing has ed the vital signs taking era to a nurse who is independent, has critical thinking and decisions making skills to help give professional care to her patients. A Nurse who is loaded with knowledge smiles out of confidence than frown out of fear. How many Nigerian nurses can effectively give R or even use their priority knowledge to ister care to patients? A critical patient is asked to take number and wait because it is turn by turn, also if the nurse even decides to care for the very sick ones first, the people waiting will still bash her, and we say we are not living in a jungle? Someone said they are pay #100.000 in govt hospital, please how many percentage of nurses is that? AND do you know difficult it is to get that job without a god father? If you are not helping rebuild the healthcare system, the you are helping to run it down. 4 Likes |

Nigerian nurses this, nigerian Nurses that yet non of them can deal without these nurses. We all seem to forget that Nigeria is a motor park, survival of the fittest, even the Nurses are struggling to survive, if they tell you how nurses paychecks are slashed because they didn't follow hospital policy, u go shock. I don't condone disrespectfull and non comionate nurses. The Nigerian syllabus does not talk much of comionate care, it's more of study, cram and . Most education year is filled with strikes and many nurses end up studying by themselves. How about practicals, let's not even go there, we all know that Nigeria is more a theoretical setting than actual hands on skills training, 50 students using only one Jane doe. When posted to the hospital, the instructor doesn't even show and abandons these would be nurses to grab whatever knowledge, however way the can. A country that doesn't invest in its healthcare system. How many doctors or even nurses have health insurance or good benefits, even continous education is luxury to them. The govt don't care, the people don't care, the education system don't care. The attitude you see in younger nurses is what the older ones taught them so we can all sit in front of our computers and bash nurses all we can or we can make a difference by even appreciating them . How many people are donating into retraining and orientation of nurses to new procedures, latest health guidelines, improvement and care management? Ever wonder the ratio of one nurse to a patient in nigeria? Overworked, underpaid nurse will never be happy. Like someone said, you can never make a 3 cent prayer and expect a million dollar miracle. I can never bash any nurse, I would want to know what makes him/her twitch. 2 Likes |

All the people saying she moved on too fast, I have just one question, How long were you expecting her to wait after divorce? I get this feeling that when a relationship is broken up, the male specie finds it difficult that the woman can move on and the world doesn't revolve around them. They wish no one finds u attractive not to talk of marrying you. Guess what? Your shit is another's pot of gold!! All I read here are men expecting her to wait forever and most even wants her never to remarry. So it doesn't matter if the man controls your life while your are married to him, These men wants to also control it when you are single. If remarriying makes her happy , so be it at least she isn't gallivanting all over town. She honorably got married. They are busy writing too soon , too soon, puhlease give me a brea!!! If the man remarried, it's nothing, they will even worry why he hasn't remarried yet. Hypocrites everywhere. I'm with her!! 5 Likes |

It's only a man who is deep throated by EGO will utter these kind of words. It's also a man who feels he's doing a lady a favour that will also say these words. Only a man who will never see reasons to settle things amicably will say these things. Only a man who will sacrifice his wife to his family will say these words. Only a man who has little information on marriage will open his mouth and decree divisive words. A house that hasn't been built but negotiations on how to tear it down is already in place. Everyone thinks they know how to handle crisis until crises arise. That you have a mouth doesn't mean you should allow it to porously utter words of distruction. There are better ways to handle situations. Your macho and authoritative attitude and words will only set your house on fire. Some will say they don't care but truth is that nobody wants to die lonely. You are young and can boast and say whatever but when you age, you understand life better. We all will get old at some point but this chest beating and ego will also get old. Nobody should disrespect anyones family. If I were the lady, this is an indication not to continue the relationship. Who knows what else you will divorce her for. A friend of mine disrespects his wife because she has fertility issues which she didn't know before they got married. He treats her with disgust but forgetting he too has diabetes, hypertension and liver issues. He forgets that his own situation needs proper care and management. He needs special diet which the wife has to follow strictly so his case is managed properly. Yet he sees himself as all that.... Sometimes, life is not a one way road, somethings need understanding and proper communication. 17 Likes |
