That’s sufficient time if normal process is followed. I am a first time applicant. I submitted on 27th August and got notification last evening that the visa decision is ready. I’m here and anxious about what the outcome would be. It’s a long weekend in Nigeria so Tuesday seems so far. Fingers crossed and hoping for the best for me. I wish you all the best and hope it comes out early and positively.

Oh woww, congratulations @Plannie22
I recall seeing your post that you need to travel Sept. 11 and I was praying and rooting for you.
No worries, it will end in praise.

With the holidays (today and Oct 01), do you think that affects the number of working days for french embassy or they would typically count those as working days in calculating turnaround time since it's not a french holiday?

Why would you go and buy ticket especially for . They can deny even frequent traveller not to talk of first timer:. Do not be discourage shaa. But next time do not pay for flight till you get visa. are acting up lately denying visa and granting first timer as well. Seems it's a random thing for them now.

Thanks alot. My concern really is around the turnaround time to have a decision regardless of outcome. My organisation typically locks in the ticket for business travels, if in the unfortunate event visa is denied, they already have an set up that takes care of that.
I'm praying of course I gey granted a visa but also in time for me travel on the 5th of October

Good morning everyone.
Wanted to know if the turnaround time of for port return from time of biometrics appointment has improved.
I had my appointment yesterday for a business visa (first timer) and got an update about an hour later that it's been dispatched to the consulate.
It's now a nervy wait period for me as I have a confirmed flight ticket to travel on the 5th of Oct. Is it possible to get a decision then/port returned? Are there any available levers I could explore in this regard?

Hi,
Thanks so kindly for your response. See my response below, also updated earlier post with same.

Hi Everyone,
Trust we all had a rewarding day.

Appreciate some help on a dilemma we're having. My wife and I are about to enter the pool and need some guidance.

Wifey and I are 35 and 34 respectively. We both have a Master's degree with about a decade work experience each (wifey, HR professional in the bank and myself Engineer with an IOC)
We've both taken our IELTS with results as follows;
Wifey - L7, R7, W7, S7.5
Me - L8, R7.5, W7.5, S7.5
I have siblings in Canada while madam doesn't. My siblings are in Ontario.
I've been able to determine my NOC as 21321 – Industrial and manufacturing engineers, which is a TEER 1.

On the strength of the foregoing, we decided that I be the PA. I simulated my CRS and arrived at 466.

However, we're unsure of which of the EE stream to apply for - PNP, FSW General, Category based etc.
We thus solicit your wise counsel on the best pathway forward for us using the above details.

Thank you.

Thank the lord.
I just got my eor result today, i applied since 2nd January. That is, two months and 6 days after i applied, mehn i was almost loosing hope.

Anyway my final result is, LRWS ( 8.5, 7.5, 7.5, 8 ) overall 8, and it's my first time writing the exam too.
My eor was for my speaking, i needed an 8, i got 7.5 previously, so that changed, thank God.

My advice for the exam, practice, practice, practice. official past ielts textbooks from ieltsgame.com, use that to practice your reading and listening. Use ieltsliz.com to practice writing. Read all the high band essays she has on her site and try to recreate yours. Also try and official answer sheet for writing too, its gives you an idea how 150+ and 250+ words look like (you may not have time to count during exams, trust me).
Watch youtube videos at night if you have the youtube night plan, use youtube to understand difficult questions that are giving you problems. I watched all ieltsliz videos on youtube.
If you work. Come back home, do all you have to do, sleep early, and wake up in the early hours of the morning to practice. For speaking, record yourself speaking multiple times, try to pace your speaking, dont speak too fast and always give reasons for your answers.
Finally. Pls make a timetable for yourself and try to follow it, every day focus on one module.
I believe 2 weeks of serious study, can get you your desired score. Also another thing i did, i abandoned social media for one week before my exams because i knew it was my biggest distraction. I also sent my kids to my parents the week before my exams. Just take the exam serious and you won't have to do it twice

Congratulations!
Great tips on acing the exam.
Quick question: In your opinion, how long do you think one can intensively prepare from ZERO before he's ready to write the exam and ace it?

Thank you for the compliment. I hope they are listening and learning too.

Funny thing is that I now understand things from your perspective during the last GT cycle. There is always a lot of chatter about nepotism allegedly coming in to play. And I understand why given how jaga jaga Nigeria is. Especially as many people see the business as a government parastatal. Hopefully you can periodically chip in a word or two here in the course of the recruitment (even though I know and appreciate that this isn't something you can commit to). All the same, thank you for dropping a word for "them" here.

Great submissions as always, Airsay. Known your brilliance from our GT13 days here and during your short stint in Bonny (we crossed paths a few times albeit indirectly through other mutual GT friends)

If only Folks here had any idea on how much the insights you're providing here is actually worth.
Even funnier to see some of the outrageous commentary and outright falsehood been propagated by @unknown31 moniker. My advice, take @Nicer 's counsel and don't play yourself any further.

Airsay,
I'm on the EH swim lane. Will touch base privately. Thanks for all do freely here. Cheers
