He's lucky he lasted this long. Not any party fan, but I salute his loyalty and doggedness to stay with his Party.
Our politicians have no ideology , jumping from one party to another like any government in power (Agip).

The recent killing of a herder by suspected of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Enugu State has left his family, his Igbo employer and those who knew him in grief.

The herder, Mohammadu Alarabe alias Ogbodo, had been taking care of the cattle of a prominent Igbo family for over 20 years before he was gunned down on that fateful Wednesday, January 19, 2022.
The assailants also killed some of the cows of Alarabe’s master, Chief Peter Chukwuani Onyeabor, a famous cattle dealer in Enugu State, who inherited the business from his late father.

Onyeabor is said to be a prominent cow merchant at Ugbowka, Nkanu-East Local Government Area of the state.

The Onyeabor family is reputed to be the most famous in the cattle business in the area for over 200 years.

Even though Onyeabor described the assailants as “gunmen”, the action has the hallmarks of of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), the armed wing of the outlawed IPOB which had severally attacked herdsmen in the southeastern part of the country.

Some natives in the area also said it might not be unconnected with the IPOB’s warning that the sale and consumption of cow meat would no longer be allowed in the South East.

The release conveying the warning was attributed to IPOB spokesman Emma Powerful.

Meanwhile, the police are yet to make any arrest concerning the attack. Spokesman of the state command, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, said he was yet to get the details of the matter and may issue a statement.

Sadly, some people celebrated the killing of Alarabe on social media.

A video clip circulated in social media last week showed the Alarabe’s remains covered in blood and a gory sight of many cows shot dead while others were in severe pains due to various degrees of bullet wounds.

Although some voices in the video were heard bemoaning the callous attack, no one mentioned the location of the sad incident.

However, to ascertain the reality of the matter, Daily Trust went to Akwuke Autonomous Community in Enugu South Local Government where rumour said the incident took place.

Later, the search continued and ended in faraway Ugbowka in Nkanu East Council Area of Enugu State where Onyeabor, 62, narrated how the sad incident occurred.

“The attack happened at about 5:25pm.

“I was sitting here in the veranda, discussing with some of my customers who came to buy cows on that fateful day. I sell my cows here. I don’t take them (cows) to the market. People come from far and near to buy from me. That has been our family business over the years.

“As I was discussing with the buyers and presenting the kola nuts I served to welcome them, shortly into the discussion, we started hearing sporadic gunshots renting the air almost in front of our family compound, from across the main road.

“I stood up to go out and see what was happening but my wife restrained me, saying that the gunmen are shooting our cows; that I shouldn’t step out. Even my customers warned me against moving out.

“And before a twinkle of an eye, the gunmen had shot dead 22 cows. Among the cows, there were some I used to sell N700,000 each because of their huge sizes.

“There were some cows that ran into the bush with bullet wounds and they were later found or recovered from the bush. Eight of them that sustained gunshot wounds later died. My dear, misfortune has really befallen me,” he said.

Onyeador said shortly after the violent operation by the gunmen, the SPA to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, made some s with security operatives who later came to inspect the scene of the crime.

He said a team of soldiers from the 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, Enugu was the first to visit the place.
Onyeador said the most painful part of the attack was the cruel murder of his herdsman Alarabe, who he said did not resist them, yet they killed him.

He said: “They killed Ogbodo; he was given an Igbo name as an indigene because he had spent 20 years serving us even during the days of my father.
He said he was saddened by the death of Ogbodo.

“I was told that he was telling the gunmen that he was not the owner of the cows; that Peter Nweke Ogbede, Chukwuani Onyeabor was the owner but they still killed him. They shot him at very close range and he died,” he said.

But why in the FCT alone?
In the neighboring country Benin republic, you can't ask for more than 3 months rent. And it's official.

Homelessness is drastically reduced there, simply by that law. In fact, landlords end up making more money at the end of the day.

But how do the landlords end up making more money? Is it that more people can afford to take up shorter periods of rent than the full year?

The reason is simply obvious: southerners are wary of cursed job.
Ise olopa = ise epe.
A police job in Nigeria will never add any value to one's life, rather it will depreciate your IQ and moral values. For instance, a member of this forum once commented that you can never come across a computer system connected with internet in Nigerian police stations. I decided to take notice after reading that comment, and to my surprise, that nairalander was right.

This comment made me laugh. grin grin grin Thanks for bringing our attention to the fact that ICT tools are hardly found in police stations.

You actually misinterpreted that comment.

The poster meant, when it comes to big businesses, northerners usually set up their big business in the north while ibos A.K.A developers set theirs outside iboland.

However the guy was wrong to some extent, Dangote Refinery, Flour mill, Sugar, Cement Factory, BUA biggest cement plant, proposed BUA refinery e.t.c were not situated in the north.

Most of Dangote & BUA's core business are not situated in the North...

Why should FG be given loans out to Nigerians, better if you give them grants or as gifts than loan. Most Nigerians mindset is this loan is my National cake, let me chop and clean mouth.
We as a people don't like paying loans, some of us can borrow for Africa but when it comes to repayment, you hear different stories and tales by moonlight.
We complain about our leaders, the people are also a big problem.

Ganduje and Shekerau knows that all the statutory delegates to the convention are with Ganduje and in the election primaries, Ganduje's people are going to win.

At the moment , Shekarau's camp controls the authentic excos with court order backing. If Ganduje does not reconcile with shekarau, he will definately lose control of the party and will to impose himself and candidates on the party. Ganduje needs shekarau more than shekarau needs ganduje at the moment. Because when its injury time and the smoke clears, most would jump ship and shekarau's camp as his camp is the one recognised by law at the moment.

You will have to take this paper back to head quarters, they will then give you a crazy form yet again which you will have to take to the zone were you were arrested or booked. There the boss will sign and hand you a payment advise which you will take to any bank to make the payment to Lagos State Tax Deposit .

Once this payment is made, a certificate of payment will be issued as confirmation. This receipt you will take it back to the headquarters at Oshodi Apapa express way. There they will confirm your payment and minute on the document for your car to be released to you. You will then have to made 3 copies each of all the documents in your possession as that moment.

Back to the zone
After the above is done you return you the zone will all the original documents from Oshodi then, they zone commander will confirm the documents and they calculate how long your car has been in their custody and you will be made to pay DEMORAGE N1000 per day. This payment will be made yet again into Lagos state Tax Deposit .

Release of Vehicle
Once you have made the payment for the Demorage. Come back to the zone with your receipt. Your key will be handed over to you. But your tyres would have been deflated. You still have to give N1,000 to the vulcanizer to get your car tyres back up.

In years to come, the Northerners will likely begin to beg people to relocate back to their region. The North is trending towards being a ghost region. At least I know several civil servants including nurses that have relocated back to southern Nigeria having been chased by the unrest and insecurity pervading the place.

D'you the story of that baptist boys school abduction and the subsequent ransom and purchase of motorcycles for the bandits, yes. Right now, four of the kids have been brought to Lagos by their parents and have been enrolled into schools there. Neither the parents nor the kids have ever being to Lagos before, but they have no choice but to desert the North because the place is dangerous to their continued existence.

Now the effects of this emigration on the North, if you care to know, includes but not limited to reduced labour force, reduced development index, IGR, standard of living, reduced investment etc. The moment Nigeria divides into regions or true federalism becomes entrenched (either of the two is gonna happen soon), most States in the North risk being non-viable.

The topic is about Niger Delta! Why deviating ? If you want to raise issues about the North, why not go and open your own different thread about North.

If Nigerians can go abroad to various countries and become citizens, immerse in the culture to the extent of seeking elective positions ,win and get appointed to government positions. What is the issue if same situation happens here.
We just like to make issues out of nothing.
Your same tribesman , son of the soil that has been in that position since time immemorial, what change or progress has he brought.
