I will advise you apply for the work permit immediately so that they can link the entire application together rather than treating yours in isolation.

My Spouse applied for Study Permit, I applied for VV so I could visit during my breaks and VV for two of our kids.

Spouse and Kids got Medical Submission request, mine got “canceled”.

Later got note on the portal requesting I should apply for work permit.

Has anyone experienced this, do I have to wait for Spouse Study Permit to be granted before applying for Work Permit that I really don’t need at the moment.

Initial application was on the new portal and I noticed work permit is only on the old portal, can these two applications be linked?

I came up with the theory of occupation being in demand because; myself, another nairalander and a friend in India got Provincial Nomination. Me and the other Nairalander are in IT and we got our work permit in 3weeks while the other Indian a store supervisor still waiting for his work permit after almost 6months.

They used Chinook to process the application. Chinook scan the applications for key words and flag words. If there are many keywords with no flag words in the entire application package, Chinook will recommend the file into Tier 1 (less complex) and the application get faster processing but when Chinnok categorise your file into Tier 2 (medium complex), you got to wait for VO's proper review and the decision here is 50-50. If your application is grouped into Tier 3, that one will also wait for VO's review and the refusal is higher in this category.

No hating, just an observation. Seeing PPR from applicants who applied in late 2021, 2022 or months after April or May 2021 applicants. Makes me wonder what's up with IRCC? are files selected randomly because honesty it doesn't seem fair.
There are news from IRCC that they are working on Backlogs...but is Nairobi exempted? it seems like a bias or tactic to make people withdraw and reapply without refund.

Parents Visitor Visa Approved. I first applied using the formal platform on 15th of Oct. it's still there doing ten-ten. I reapplied using the new portal on 13th of January, 2022.

Yes. My brother in law used it in January and got PPR yesterday.

You are correct, it all comes down to VO's discretion. Being in Canada for almost a year now one thing I have come to with regarding Canadians thought process is; they don't believe in coincidence or a dramatic change. They believe 90% of situations are premeditated. That is why even for you to see a doctor, they can give you appointment for 4weeks away.

Apparently, non of us is a VO, what we strife to achieve is to package an application with the highest chance of success irrespective who the V.O is. I would advice if a candidate uses family as a tie, get to canada first before filling for others. Nevertheless I have read here of someone who didn't even wait for his study visa to be approved but applied for entire family at once and they all got approved. DICEY!

Let me give you a senerio imagine someone got his visa in march and used spouse and kids as strong ties now in may one of the kids was flown abroad for a very sensitive surgery and the mum and the kid came back in june and the spouse with the visa applies based on that when the spouse is leaving or maybe a spouse got visa and before travelling discovered the wife was pregnant and the wife is a type that requires bed rest do you expect such spouse not to apply before he or she leaves. Different people with different senerio i believes it depends on how much the emotional sense appeals to the VO and also God factor. I have seen someone that applied when he entered canada and they still got denied and i have also see a friend that applied immediately he got visa and sent the sin and study permit via webform when he entered canada and the application got approved despite using the family as home ties

I used DHL to send to them but I had to pay them for each person for a family of 5 for the return. I guess you can pay DHL for the return but I don't know how it works.

You can put everything in one envelope whilst sending but you must pay for each for the return.

I don't think it matters where you apply, it is about the port you submit that categorizes you as a Nigerian

Hi all, please I and my 3 other friends used an agent for a visa processing to Canada, he told us the visa has been approved but he did not tell us the type of visa either visit or work permit. Now he said because one of us is almost due to give birth that it is better to wait after delivery so we all can go for the visa collection in group. I don’t know if he is right or just buying time

Let me explain in other not to confuse you. I applied for TRV in 2015 and to be honest,i did'nt know my Tax clearance was fake ( complete fake). I got a PL and i replied . In my reply,i included my financial statement for the year ( and pointed out where there was an expense for tax ) i appealed to the Visa officer by stating the auditing company committed the fraud ( the truth). In the refusal letter,it was stated that i have been refused based on Misinterpretation.
Note: there was nowhere in the letter that states or stated that i have been banned. I simply assumed "that was the penalty for such offense".
I got my US and other visas after my TRV was refused.

You mean someone under IRCC ban can get a U.S visa? I had thought they share info. Please shed more light. Thanks

Thanks sir. There has been significant changes.
During the previous application.it was a virgin port but now,he has 3 south African visas,3 Kenya visa, been to turkey, 4 expired schengen visas and 2 expired US visas. Five years was a long time to sit idle whilst waiting for the ban to lapse hence the travel history
Does he need to write to address the misinterpretation or just go ahead with his application?

Actually no one here is an employee of IRCC, we can only share our experiences and thoughts. Anyone can apply for anything and at anytime, but increasing our chances of success is why we are here. I am actually not an advocate of people applying for SOWP before the primary applicant travels and obtain study permit.

Good news and a flip side.

Good news is, she is about to be approved. IRCC will never bother about the medicals of someone who will be rejected eventually.

The flip side is, there are some concerns with the medical report. If there are ailments she might need to treat before going for the second test. It will worth it.

It's true. We were delayed for almost 1hr before they finally allowed my wife to board. We didn't have same issue at Amsterdam or at POE. I guess the KLM employee was being unnecessarily overzealous.
