Please what type of insurance is incoming and where did you get it from?

It's a health insurance that covers long term stay. The normal AXA Mansard travel insurance of less than 30k doesn't cover long stay. I wasted my time and money buying travel insurance from AXA mansard only for it to be rejected due to lack of information. You know what? Some people come on here and say they bought travel insurance(instead of saying incoming insurance)just to deceive people so that other people too can make the same mistake and waste money like I did.
It is bought online from any internationally recognised insurance company in . Your spouse buys it. Mine was from Allianz insurance.
I didn't get this information firsthand. After the AXA mansard travel insurance was rejected by the embassy, the embassy sent me an email the next day describing what an incoming insurance was. AXA mansard never refunds an insurance bought in error. Na so my money take loss. I no see who give me right information. But I vividly asking someone on this thread
about insurance, the person recommended AXA mansard for me , that that was what he used.Na so I take waka loss go waste money. World people.

Hello everyone. Sorry for the late update. I had to recover from the trauma the embassy put me through. Now I can find my words . It wasn't funny at all.

Nov 20th 2021-- Booked appointment

Nov 8th 2022 --Goethe A1 exam

Jan 5th 2023. -- Interview

Silence for 8 months despite series of calls and emails from me, my spouse and our immigrations lawyer in searching for my lawyer for verification.

22th Oct 2023 -- Lawyer visited for verification

Jan 3rd 2024 -- My spouse ed ABH for status update but we were told my sacharbeiter(person in charge of my file) was on vacation and will resume the next week which was on Jan 8th 2024.
We decided to give him two weeks space.

Jan 22nd 2024 --We called ABH and they said they sent a request to the German embassy in Nigeria and that they were waiting for their (German embassy Lagos)response.(I didn't know what the request was about.)

Feb 6th 2024 -- We e-mailed the German embassy Lagos requesting for an update but we were warned to refrain from further enquires regarding the status of the matter. At this point I was defeated and frustrated.

Feb 10th 2024-- We emailed the Burger meister's office of my spouse' city because at this point we were frustrated. We were advised to be patient that the process was ongoing.
My lawyer kept sending emails to the embassy and ABH yet there was no response.

Apr 25th 2024 -- We e-mailed the ABH requesting for status update and the ABH responded that they were still waiting for the response from the embassy as regards the request they(ABH) sent to the German embassy in Nigeria. My lawyer requested to know what the request was but they never disclosed it.

July 3rd 2024 -- The embassy decided to wake up from its slumber by inviting my spouse and I for a second interview. ( The was the REQUEST the ABH sent to them since January 2024 but there was a delay in ing me and arranging for the interview because according to them(embassy) ,they misplaced my file . Our interviews was place at the time. Mine at the embassy in Lagos, his in his city.

July 9th 2024 -- Second interview for me and my spouse. During the interview I submitted my port.

July 17th 2024 -- lawyer e-mailed the embassy asking for update.

Aug 21st 2024 -- Embassy responded saying that they appreciate my patience during the process and that they know waiting for my visa decision can be stressful but that I should be rest assured that my visa application is still under review and I will be notified immediately once a decision has been made.

Aug 27th 2024 -- embassy requested for my port,6months incoming insurance, travel date, prepaid courier envelope and updated A1 certificate (the first one I submitted was expired). I was given a deadline of October 5th 2024.

Aug 27th 2024 -- I emailed them , telling them that they were with my international port which I submitted to them during the second interview and that I ll be needing the port to sit for the next A1 exam which was scheduled for Sept 27th 2024. I also told them to please extend the deadline because it will take about a month before the Goethe A1 certificate will be ready, which will go against the deadline. To this they agreed and gave me another deadline of November 15th 2024.

Sept 26th 2024 -- Picked up my international port from the embassy in person in order to write my exam.

Sept 27th 2024 -- Goethe A1 exam .

Oct 24th 2024 -- I submitted an updated Goethe A1 certificate, courier envelope, port, travel insurance and travel date.

Oct 30th 2024 -- I received an email stating that I bought and submitted the wrong type of insurance. ( They needed an incoming insurance and not travel insurance).

Oct 30th 2024 -- I submitted the 3 months incoming insurance.

Nov 7th 2024 -- I received my port with 3 months visa stamp.

Nov 11th 2024 -- I japa.

Omo the stress and frustration was .
Words fail me on how to quantify my frustration during that time. I never knew waiting was so hard not until my encounter with the embassy. With the German embassy ,no two situations or processes are the same. Never use another person's own process to compare yours. My own process lasted over 2yrs and 11 months. It was 9 days short 3 years.
(Nov 20th 2021- Nov 11th 2024) .
Typing this was hard but I had to make e no be like say I dey hide update. Wishing you all the best in this journey. Peace.✌️

Make I sleep small. Cold for here wan finish person.

Please I'm still hoping someone can answer this question.

The lawyer that visited me didn't visit any of my siblings. He said seeing my mum and dad and one friend was sufficient. He only visited one friend .

I ll say just try and be patient. My lawyer visited in October 2023 that was 10 months after my interview in January 2023 up till this moment I haven't received verification complete email. 8 months after lawyer verification I still haven't received verification complete email. July will make it 9 months. So you see say your own even good. I have sent millions of emails to no avail. My patience has run out since. Na sit down dey look I dey now. Waiting is so hard but we will all get there.

Thanks so much for your effort and input.
I do not know what this means but how come the kids got their visas, if their father’s residency permit or whatever is in question?

According to their reason, they quoted Section 31 Paragraph 1 Sentence. 1 No. 1. Although I am not a lawyer, using my layman's understanding I think there's a hidden meaning in (1).
Some German spouses can be tricky unbeknownst to the spouse in Nigeria. My two cents sis/bro. But something is just not right.

Section 31
Independent right of residence for spouses

(1) If marital cohabitation ends, the spouse’s temporary residence permit is extended by one year as an independent right of residence unrelated to the purpose of the subsequent immigration of dependants if

1. marital cohabitation has lawfully existed in the federal territory for at least three years or

2. the foreigner has died during marital cohabitation in the federal territory

and the foreigner possessed a temporary residence permit, permanent settlement permit or EU long-term residence permit up to that time, unless the foreigner was unable to apply for an extension in time for reasons beyond his or her control. Sentence 1 does not apply if the foreigner’s temporary residence permit may not be extended or if the foreigner may not be granted a temporary residence permit or EU long-term residence permit because this is precluded by a rule of law on of the purpose of residence or by an ancillary provision attaching to the temporary residence permit pursuant to section 8 (2).

(2) The requirement stipulated in subsection (1) sentence 1 no. 1 for marital cohabitation to have existed lawfully for three years in the federal territory is to be waived if necessary to enable the spouse to continue his or her residence in order to avoid particular hardship, unless an extension of the foreigner’s temporary residence permit is not permitted. Particular hardship is deemed to apply especially if the marriage is not valid or has been suspended under German law because the spouse was a minor when he or she married, if the obligation to return to the country of origin resulting from the termination of marital cohabitation threatens to substantially harm the foreigner’s legitimate interests, or if continuing marital cohabitation is unreasonable due to the harm to the foreigner’s legitimate interests; in particular this is to be assumed if the spouse is the victim of domestic violence. Such legitimate interests also include the well-being of a child living with the spouse as part of a family unit. In order to avoid abuse, extension of the temporary residence permit may be denied if the spouse relies on benefits under Book Two or Book Twelve of the Social Code for reasons for which he or she is responsible.

(3) In derogation from section 9 (2) sentence 1 nos. 3, 5 and 6 the spouse is also to be granted a permanent settlement permit if the spouse’s subsistence is ensured after the termination of marital cohabitation by maintenance payments from the foreigner’s own funds and the foreigner possesses a permanent settlement permit or an EU long-term residence permit.

(4) Without prejudice to subsection (2) sentence 4, claiming benefits under Book Two or Book Twelve of the Social Code does not preclude extension of the temporary residence permit. The temporary residence permit may thus be extended as long as the conditions for granting the permanent settlement permit or EU long-term residence permit have not been met.

Please I need your input on this. Who can tell me the meaning of this. What could be the issue:

“The above-mentioned application to issue a visa for the purpose of family reunification, more precisely spousal reunification with your German spouse, is rejected for the following reasons:
Despite repeated requests and over a period of three years, we have not yet received the required response from the Munich immigration authorities involved in accordance with Section 31 Paragraph 1 Sentence. 1 No. 1
Residence Act received. The application must therefore be rejected.
The remaining grant requirements have not been finalized. Your original documents submitted to the Consulate General Lagos will be returned to you enclosed with this letter.”

Your spouse is German and so it's very likely nothing was requested of him. Did you and your spouse Lawyer?

You are obviously bitter and angry about something that clearly has nothing to do with me because you do not know me. I just wanted you to acknowledge the fact that you were making women out to be bad in your first comment - which was unnecessary. I could not read all of your lenghty ramblings. Let's stick to why we are on this forum and resist the urge to disparage a group of people. Peace.

Many of us saw that post but decided to ignore it and refused to make that topic popular on this thread . That's not why we are here. This thread is for German family reunion and not gender wars. We reject any for of discord on here like as seen in other threads. Please leave the person with his or her vague assumptions.

Hello Frauposh.

Sorry about your nasty experience about the family reunion process. Bear in mind that longer time for your processing does not indicate that something is wrong. Berlin is a big city and they have lots of applications on their table. They always complain of shortage of staff too.

What you can do at the moment now is to change your immigration lawyer because obviously his best is not good enough. He/she needs to be proactive.

Also, tell your husband to write physical letters to the Ausländer in Berlin and submit it in person stating clearly the timeline of your processing.

Aside the letters, he should make calls and also wrote mails to them. Most times when the time is long like this, the issue is from and not Nigeria. That was what happened to me when I was on my processing too. Within a week of the approval form , I received my approval mail. Nigeria only waits for approval from after your credentials have been verified.

Just keep calm and never ever forget the place of prayer. I can understand the frustration and the anxiety but don’t let it weigh you down. Your testimony comes forth.

Sending you cyber hugs

Ok. Thank you so much for your kind response.

Wow! 5 months after? Have you tried to send them an email? I suspect that the process has changed because we are in March and i am yet to get an email for our interview. Based on the email i got sent a few years ago when i first attempted this process, they kept to their 12 months timeline then email with an Interview date. It seems all that has changed and there's no email either to at least keep us updated. It's exhausting.

We have done everything we could do but no response. I have sent a million mails.

What's really going on? Has the duration of the whole process been changed? I just want to vent here. My head don full🤯😓😓
