Hello everyone, I have a peculiar situation. I have a certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology, its a 3 year program run by Colleges Of Health Technologies in Nigeria.
After the 3 years in a College Of Health Technology, you sit for a licensing exam organised by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria(MLSCN).
If you , you're inducted and given a practicing liscense which you renew annually. My question is this:

1. Do I send the transcript and certificate issued by the College Of Health Technology or the transcript and certificate issued by the MLSCN (NB: IQAS says you must submit a record of all the years of study, but the MLSCN transcript only has the record of the licencing exam.)
*I have called iqas and explained my situation and they referred me to their website, but the only information available is for Nurses. I also called the MLSCN but they don't seem to have any idea.

I think you should send the transcript from your College. The MLSCN is not a tertiary institution, don't offer ission and graduate students. They're professional licencing authority like PSN for pharmacists and MDCN for doctors.

WES will start asking for Final Secondary Examination Results (e.g. West African Senior School Certificate) and must be submitted directly to WES by the appropriate examining body for evaluation along with all higher education documents

Please check CIC website for more details. But the deed must include the following statements by the donor:
"confirm that this gift is being made out of my own funds"

"This gift is irrevocable and I have no claim left whatsoever on the said gifted amount and he is free to utilise it in any manner."

My two cents for those who need help with their WES verification from Unilag;

I wasted money using s and all to fast track verification but later learnt it wasn’t necessary and the guys kept taking my money without doing nothing. The people there are very nice and you can walk into their offices where they’ll courteously address you.

Go to records office, Downstairs at Senate building close to the security post (small office) you can ask a security guard for directions. (That is where emails are received from WES) They’ll check for you if they’ve received it.

Now if it isn’t there;

Go to the 5th floor (Registrars Office), Meet the woman there and tell her you want to find out if your verification mail from WES has been received. She’ll check and let you know.

I’ll suggest you give a week after you got the notification from WES before you go there.

I will however advice that you start from the Registrar Office (5th Floor), that's the office that receives all incoming WES mails before they're sent to Records Office. If positive, you can then proceed to the RO on the first floor. Be courteous to the staff, you will be fine.

Most often than not, people usually receive their ECA report on the day specified by WES.

I'm also in same ship now, waiting for ECA completion this August, after battling with school to send transcript, then battling with WES to send verification mail via email and not post only, waging world war 3 with school to respond to verification email, hmmmm. Truly this journey is not for the faint hearted.

In the middle WW3 with WES verification by email and post. School not receiving either. Now over 10 weeks waiting to complete this rate-limiting step. A bit frustrating.

I have an MSc from Unilag. Though I haven't collected the certificate, I have the Letter of Attestation.

Can I use that for WES ECA?

And which is more advisable for accessing Unilag degree - WES or IQAS?

I don't think WES accept LoA. Get your transcripts and MSc certificate from UNILAG. Not difficult at all.

Boss @GlitteringStar, can I use a Deed of Sale for a large inflow into PoF ?

He actually said the truth. It is not everybody that will land and get a "good" job immediately. The POF will go a long way in helping with settlement before one gets "stabilized". It is better to get someone to "gift" you the money (as in give as a gift). This is the reason why "gift deed" is allowed. If you give someone a "gift", will you collect it back? Of course not. Money does not grow on trees in Canada ooo. A word they say is enough for the wise.

Just track the request to UNILAG. Usually takes about 3-4 weeks by post from WES to UNILAG. Maybe another -12 weeks for UNILAG Records Office to deal. No payment except if you graduate from CMUL (N3500).

I have a question. Is there anyone here who finished from Unilag and has verified with WES? How long did it take for Unilag to respond to WES request to your documents? Is there an additional fee I need to pay to Unilag? My transcript has been sent to WES but Unilag is yet to my result.
