Good morning everyone, hope this message meet everyone of you well. Please I'm here to seek everyone's sincere opinion and advice most especially the professional ones in this group. Me and my wife are considering to migrate to Canada even though I have been researching on the easiest paths we can explore to make the process seamless in of time and financial affordability but I consider it necessary to come here to seek more opinion and advice to make us make informed decision. Please below is our profile:
Husband:
Educational background: BSc psychology (2.2)
Age: 42 Work Experience: Business/trader no formal work experience before
Wife:
Educational background: BSc Sociology (2.1), MSW Health Social Work
Age: 38, work Experience: Medical Social work (Volunteer) Both in Hospital and mental health services
Presently working with state government as a teacher, guidance and counselor with 3 years experience.
So my questions are as follows
1) Between educational qualification and work experience which is best eligible for PNPs or have higher chances? The reason is that, my wife is going to be main applicant and if that is the case, she doesn't want to get ed with Social work regulatory body before migration, (we believe the process is cumbersome and most times Nigeria social work standard not fully recognize in Canada, so additional training may be required). And most importantly, each provinces have their seperate regulations. Or is it possible we start process without Social work registration? Please we will need more insight and help to enable us navigate the process.
2) which other ways or path ways we can explore that will simplify our process?
Thank you so much for your anticipated assistance.

Good morning house, is there anybody that knows universities that offer Msc in mental health courses psychology courses with 3000 pounds deposit, flexible instalment payment plans and the program fees will be between 12000-15000 pounds in the UK?

She won’t be able to gain ission with the work experience for MSc Except she does a Bsc in nursing .

Generally for MSc nursing you don’t have to have bsc in nursing , it’s open for everyone from every other courses.

But she’ll need to have a recent care experience and proof .

This would be in form of providing a reference. If she can get it then that would be great .

Otherwise with her background she can study MSc social work which also guarantees work visa sponsorship after school in the UK
Thanks so much for your response..... Please can she still get ission even if she can't get the reference, I appreciate your Swift response once again

Good morning everyone, please my sister is considering to travel to the UK through study route for the next ission window by September but I don't know if their will be a problem due to her background and work experience that is not the same with her intended course of study.
BSc sociology 2.1
Msc Health Social Work
Present work experience; Two years experience as a primary school teacher in government primary school
Proposed course of study: Adult general nursing or adult mental health nursing
With this above information, will she qualify for the aforementioned course of study, if yes, what more can she do to enhance her success rate for both ission and visa process? Thanks so much in anticipation

we are not all on the same level ,pple who got this Job with masters are a level above us ,people who did education are a step above us too..their salary is bigger than our own, before the difference was 4k...I don't know how much now, people with masters are on level 13.…but we are all 2013 teachers

Please I want to know. Were you all placed on different levels during the recruitment process or it was later regularised to reflect the actual level of qualifications as you progressed?

What do you mean by she has bed?

Meanwhile, if she is in Nigeria and has a first degree not related to education, let her go and for PGDE at NTI just one year. Then for TRCN exam. Registration is ongoing and exam is November.

But if she's in UK with you, she need to for QTS exam. These qualifications qualify her to teach in UK. My one cent

After gotten her TRCN what are other process to follow or what next to do? Others may benefit from this details

Let me answer you with all sincerity, the answer is NO. The people in the UK with UK experience finding it very difficult to get jobs with sponsorship, talk more of someone with zero Nigeria experience. In the UK, experience matters a lot and many people lie about experience to get jobs. So your brother either look for someone who will give him reference, I mean hospital with official domain name and lie in his CV that he worked for the hospital for minimum of 5years and also add that he took care of your grand parents when they are sick for like another 5years, then add your uncles and any other person. Finally, he will be ready to defend the lies because this people can easily detect who is lying. He should read very well about mental health, safeguarding, learning disabilities and autism and also prepare his CV in European standard. Then maybe just maybe he may be lucky but the chances are 1/5000.
Thanks so much for your quick and honest response. Quick one, he had mhGAP training and has his certificate already, he has been working under supervision of psychiatric consultants and other mental health professionals presently at the teaching hospital for his mandatory internship, he is assigni to carry out clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment formulation according to him.
Do you know other route he can explore maybe route that will be less rigorous and can afford him UK experience?
Once again, thank you for your response.

Good evening everyone, I hope you had a wonderful day today....... My brother has completed his class work for master's degree program in child and Adolescent mental health CAMH, but only remaining his project research defense which will is expected this November, after which he can request for notification of result, his first degree is BSc psychology, his aim now is to travel to the UK given the type of course he's studying as he's finding it difficult to get a paid placement to practice. please I will need your honest advice/opinions on this following questions
1) Will it be easy to get a job in the UK from Nigeria despite not having any paid work experience? Please any ideas that encomes how, route and methods will be well appreciated.
2) Since he is yet to finish his program (remaining only project defense) if the response to the above question is positive, can he start the process of relocating or looking for job now or he should hold on till he finishes the program?

Thanks so much for your anticipated assistance.

Please if age is still on his side, let him apply for a Canadian immigration parthway called the express entry,it's a very straight forward application.
The country presently is really bad.

Best wishes.
thank you so much for your candid advise, I appreciate your contribution. His fear about the Canadian express entry has always been IELTS and POF. He doesn't have the resources to write IELTS which might take him more than once to and proof of funds for the Visa application process.

Please I want to ask the house if it is possible for a teacher in a state government school (primary) to transfer/move to ministry (State/federal). My sister got a teaching job, despite advertising position for Bsc and Msc/Med only for her to be employed with Med i.e. her name came out with Med/Msc but placed on grade level 8 Step2 according to her appointment letter, coupled with meagre pay, now she is depressed and confused, want to know if their is anything she could do to Savage the situation or if she could wait and cross to the ministry where she would be able practice her field of study since she doesn't have educational qualification to qualify her for teaching. Anyone that have gone through or know someone gone through similar experience before or have ideas in what she can do to remedy this situation?. Thanks for your anticipated assistance.

If you will study, then four million is not enough unfortunately. 4M naira is about 6k euros, it won't pay for your school fees even. You need at least 8-10k euros for that.

I mean, its a huge money, but naira have fallen so badly that when converted to euros, it becomes so small. If you can increase it, then try. It worth working hard for.

Or you go for bachelor degree programs. They are usually cheaper. Lapland university of applied sciences have the cheapest degree program. At about 4k a year, even better if they give you a scholarship.

I can't recommend any course for you. But go to studyinfo. fi, and search for courses that you like, also use the filter botton to search better. But I'll give you a possibility of relocating without spending much.

Lab university of applied sciences just started a four year engineering bachelor program called sustainable solutions engineering. So you study the first 60 credits (out of 240 credits) online, if you perform well, then from the second year, you can study in Finland for free.

The university will assist you to come to Finland, and tuition fee will be free. The country needs people in that field, so they exempt that program from tuition payment.

You won't find the link to the program on their website (I don't know why), but drop your email and I'll send it to you, so you can apply. I got it through their newsletter, since I applied there long time ago when I was like you, trying to japa.

Goodluck mate. May God bless your hustle.

Please I'm also interested. [email protected]

Good day my fellow nairalanders, please I want to know if it is possible for someone teaching in state government school (primary school) to transfer his/her service to state/federal government ministry.

My sister secured a teaching job in one of the Eastern state of the country, she has bachelor degree and master's degree but unfortunately for her, after all the rigorous process of the recruitment exercise she was placed on Grade level 8 Step2 of the state universal basic education board, not even in secondary School.
Presently, she wants to know if it is possible for her to transfer to the ministry most especially ministry of health since she has her master's degree in health related course and possibly placed on appropriate grade level.

Has any one gone through similar issues before or anyone have any vital information that may be of help? Thanks so much for your anticipate responses.

Relocating back home is a choice.several people are relocating back home while several are travelling out.John Fashanu is British Nigerian but he relocated to Nigeria. Its all about mindset.
now you are saying exactly what I'm telling you, traveling abroad is choice too, some know it's hard too but still want to go to see for themselves and no matter what you say. If anyone tells you about coming if you have any help to render just do it and leave the long of potential hardship.

If you want your relatives back home to believe you, relocate back to Nigeria, with that you don't need to much stress convincing them... Forget CNN, just leave UK and let them replace you there
