Hitv and its management are all bunch of crap. I think they should take a proper investigation into how businesses are managed, espcially, the payTV business in relation to customer satisfaction.

You keep promising customers new contents every now and then without any fulfilment. Where are the Kidsco, discovery and setanta ? I guess they are COMING SOON (may be in 2010).

I as a person have lost confidence in hitv.

I definitely agree with you linksman. Hitv keeps blaming Eutelsat for every technical fault subsciber experiences. Now, the question is that: is it only hitv that is on W4 platform?

I have always said it that hitv refused to spend their money on equipment (e.g. scrambling/descrambling machine) and good contents necessary for a smooth take-off, instead, they went acquiring football rights here and there.

I think they should emulate GTV and let nigerians have value for their money.

Hitv is just too slow in operations. They will have to sit up this time around because if care is not taken, DaarSat will sur and hijack EPL at the end of 2010.

No new channel(s), the epg is not working with the current time(for strong decoder),lots of crap channels,etc.

I'm still hanging on cos of the EPL, otherwise . . .

Welldone Hitv on the addtion of SET Africa, more grease to your elbow. Our criticisms are just to expedite and improve your operations and services. This is what the subscribers want.

However, do not take long to add the Kidsco and Setanta Africa.

What do you mean by them rushing ? Simply put, I would say HiTV has failed to carry out a proper feasibility study before opening for business and that is why their operations have remained epileptic.

Their case is like a farmer who went to the farm without his/her tools.

Your last post did not give any further info on the new channels you talked about.  It seems you are tired of them (hitv) 'cos the entire management is just  a bunch of crap.

It's the last day of the week and there is still no new channel on hitv. However, the Dove Vision and Biscon channels are up with promo/advert pictures.

Could one really refer to these as new channels ?

urfriend, your response did not match my post at all. The epl fixtures you posted had been on the hitv site about a week ago, i wonder why u are posting this again. it's totally irrelevant at this time. I guess this is another way of shying away from the truth.


You keep defending hitv base on its existence so far(1 year), but do you realise that GTV also started about the same time hiRubbish came into existence? Check out their website, electronic programme guide(EPG), content and package, it is world class and standard.


please, stop posting fixtures, instead try and tell hiRubbish to go back to the drawing board and do their home work very well.


DTH business is not all about football alone. it's about planning, implementing and delivering good services to the satisfaction of the subscribers.

Look at this, if dstv is coming up with new channel(s), you the subscriber would have been informed before hand either on the website or right on your tv screen. The good thing is that they would tell you the date of launch and keep to their words.

In the case of hiRubbish, they would keep you in suspense till you develop heart attack if care is not taken.

What i hate about them is the use of the phrase COMING SOON.

Please, urfriend or whatever you call yourself, tell hiTv that they should pack up immediately their premiership right expires.

Yesterday i was going through GTV's EPG(Eletronic Programme Guide) and when i scrolled down to Setanta Africa, it read thus:

            'Live : Bercelona vs Hibernian' pre-season match'

I immediately told myself how i wished the channel had been added by our sluggish Hitv.


They keep telling us on Hisports 2/Nigeria channel that more channels are coming soon and up till now that i am typing this post, no new channel has been added.


Urfriend, please help to confirm from any member of staff of Hitv how soon is their COMING SOON. Maybe next week, next month or even next year.


Please, tell them to relay live pre-season matches to allow subscibers and fans of various clubs feel their new (s) before the start of season.

I think Hitv should just go to hell with their promises, imagine adding Sony entertainment to a bouquet which has art 2, zee cinema. Is hitv only focusing on foreigners in Nigeria ? Let them give us english movie channel, i mean, something similar to mnet movies on Dstv.

Hi all, GTV has added a channel to its bouquet. I was unenable to figure out the name but, i guess it's a gospel-related channel.


Now that GTV has ed to 12130 H 27500, i think our dearest hiTV should be able to at least a single channel. This is because according to urfriend, both parties must agree on technical before adding/ing

i can't really wait to see sentanta sports on hiTV. I learnt sentanta has secured the right to air all English FA cup matches for the 2008/2009 season.

Can somebody please explain why Hitv refused to air the so-called reality show 'NIGERIA' that was to start on 5th July ?

I actually kept my fingers crossed throughout last week waiting for a new channel on HiTv (or Hi trash). Afterall, they promised to add one channel per week.

at last hitv and its crew were able to add a new channel (Zee Cinema on 12130 H 27500). my observation is that, since hitv will be sharing the same transponder with gtv, i think the number of channels to be added would drastically be reduced.

i did a rescan on my hitv decoder some mins ago and found new channels, though they are not showing presently. the question is that are they for hitv, gtv or dstv ?

new studio is not what the subs are clamouring for but new contents that would keep them glued to their tv sets. On which transponder are they going to be adding the one or two channels next week?

really, i don't know if comments posted in this thread gets to any of the hiTrash (i mean hitv) company cos if they do, they ought to have turned a new leaf,
the dth business is not all about winning rights but about acquiring good contents and quality programming presented to the subscribers at the right time.

Hitv should understand that the DTH business is more about satisfying subscribers in giving them value for their money.

Let's wait n see what comes up.
