Hello

This thread is to document all my results form 100 to 500lvl so I can track my progress and see if I'm doing better or worse.

Semester GPA: 4.40
Current CGPA: 4.40

I'm currently in my 100 level 2nd semester and 2nd semester results aren't out yet but I think my GPA is still alright( I technically don't have a CGPA yet). The result above is only for my first semester.

I think it's ok for my first semester but I'm hoping to break into a 4.5 real soon.

My course of study is Law.

You are a lasuite, this is a good result. Keep it up!
And goodluck in your on-going exams.

Happy Birthday to Peter Obi, my dearest Big Bro:

I will never forget your kindness to my beloved parents. Thank you for the respect you showed them, for your many visits to Abba, where you gave to Daddy and Mummy the most precious gifts: your time and your attention.

Thank you for walking this still-unbearable journey of grief with my siblings and me.

I how you regaled Daddy and Mummy with your stories until we started joking about your obsession with the “GDP of Malaysia.” But your obsession spoke of hope: your hope for Nigeria, your belief in what Nigeria could be. A belief that has always been practical, grounded in numbers and in reality.

I when you came to me as I was being honored by the United Nations Foundation in New York, and I teased you about the inexpensive hotel you were staying in, and you shrugged and said, “it’s just a place to sleep, why do I need to be in an expensive place?”

And then only days later, you once again exhibited your incredible generosity to the causes you believe in, and it reminded me of all the hospitals and schools and churches you have ed over the years, and often without fanfare. You have always been clear about what your priorities are, what matters to you, what you believe should matter, and that is deeply irable.

I have always ired your humane pragmatism, how you are willing to talk to almost anyone if it will bring about a good outcome.
And how you believe in certain ideals without being an ideologue.
And how you see people as people, knowing that human value is not measured in material .
And how you are able to laugh at yourself, and laugh when I tease you about your ‘one shoe and one shirt.’
And how you have always been consistent in the core of who you are.

Thank you for your comion and your circumspection. For your honesty and your humour. For your willingness to acknowledge flaws, yours and others’, knowing that nobody is perfect. For your fuss-free kindness and your humility that is never performative.

I am inspired by your intellectual curiosity, your eagerness to learn, your genuine love of education (which is why you sought out, and honored, Daddy all those years ago when you learned that he was Nigeria’s first professor of statistics.)

Sometimes it is the simplest of language that captures the most complex of things, and so I will end with simplicity: You are a good man. You are loved. You are appreciated.

May your eyes continue to light up when you talk about the lovely confident Margaret (Thank God she agreed for you!) and your lovely children, A and E.

May joy follow you and yours always.

Mummy called you her ‘first son,’ my siblings and I call you our 'big bro,' and I cannot wait to call you ‘My President.’

I cannot wait for February 25, 2023, when I, with personal pride in you and with hope for what Nigeria can become, will cast my vote for you and your running mate, Senator Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed.

Chukwu dube gi. God Keep you.

With love, Chimamanda.

CRITICAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE ONGOING CONTINOUS VOTER REGISTRATION EXERCISE

There is currently an unprecedented surge in INEC centres in the State. Unfortunately most of the people who turn out at these centres have no need to visit the registration centres if they are well informed. We have therefore decided as part of the INEC sensitization exercise to provide the following critical information to the citizens about the ongoing exercise.

1. There is nothing like PVC validation. The PVC card does not expire and does not need revalidation. If you check your PVC, you will see that it does not bear any expiry date.

2. If you are a ed voter but want to to another Polling Unit, you can do that online. You need not waste your time at INEC registration centre.

3. If you are a ed voter and wish to your records, you can do it online. If it involves change of name (like for married women) then you are expected to evidence of change of name.

4. If you are a ed voter but your card is or and needs , you can do it online.

5. Only two categories of people are actually required to visit INEC registration centers.
(a) - Nigerians 18 years and above who have never ed before.
(b) ed voters who have had issues with Accreditation in previous elections.
These are the two categories we need to capture their biometrics.

The online transaction link is
https://cvr.inecnigeria.org/

(i). Click on the link, as a , and use your details to proceed with what you want to do.
(ii). When you , you will see the following activity windows.
- REVIEWS. Click Review Information and proceed.
- TRANSFER. Click Request Transfer and proceed.
- LOST OR DAMAGED PVC- Click Request New Card and proceed.
The portal is interactive and friendly.

CALL FOR VOLUNTEER ASSISTANTS.
Stakeholders and of the civil society who are ICT savvy are encouraged to volunteer to assist others in their communities or neighborhoods to help decongest INEC registration centers so that we can focus on new registrants and ed voters with accreditation errors.

(PLEASE help share and circulate this information).

I've done the registration since last year but I'm yet to collect my voter's card. Can I still go with my registration slip?

Twice

The first time, I got 254 and picked unilag to study law, wrote their post utme, got an average score. I was offered philosophy which I rejected.

The second time, I got 225 and filled Lasu to study law but by and large I was given English language.

I prefer English language to that yeye philosophy.

Why Must Students Take UTME Every Year?

By Farooq Kperogi

Why do students have to take the UTME (the mandatory entrance exam to get into Nigerian higher institutions) every single year even when they have no need to?

The SAT, America's rough equivalent of Nigeria's UTME, has a 5-year validity period.

That means if, for any number of reasons, you're not able to get into a university in a particular year, you can submit scores from any test taken within 5 years.

Requiring students to take the UTME every year seems to me needlessly exploitative.

I know a student who had great UTME scores from last year but had no success getting a place at the university of his choice even though he had more than the minimum entry requirements. He retook it this year and fell short of the minimum cutoff by a wide margin.

If he were in the US, he would have submitted his scores from last year.

Several credible people have told me that the current JAMB registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, is an exceptionally honest, smart, and innovative man who is receptive to fresh ideas. I hope someone can whisper this suggestion to him.

JAMB can organize UTME several times in a year, not just once, but should allow test scores to have at least a two-year and at most a five-year validity period.

shocked

I will try not to get distracted by the political permutations of sophisticated imachakwa.

2023 will soon be here and the lessons some people failed to learn will dawn on them like the hungry reality that comes with the ing away of an acute hangover.

History like they say always repeats itself.
The Yorubas are placing their cards too early on the table but do I see a SouthWesterner becoming President in 2023; No, I don't.

Now this is what NwaAmaikpe thinks may happen.

-Zoning will be made to seem unprogressive.
then a popular northerner will be painted to appear the messiah (Zulum, Sanusi or Atiku)
This person will get a running mate from the South East or SouthSouth.(OUK, Obi, Amaechi, Ayade or Soludo).

The Yorubas will be left wondering how they forgot their history book so quick and blame the Igbos for their self-imposed woes.

You must be a history student, a very good one.

Nigerian youth are too lazy!... Something that didn't take me up to 10 minutes to do, they are everywhere on social media crying wolf.. Come February 28, 2021, most of them will still not meet the deadline and still call for another extension.

Too bad! Even on this thread, you'll see them accusing the government of "inflicting pains on them".. Very lazy youth! But if it's to watch BBN and vote for their favorite housemates, they'll lavish all their time on such frivolities, but common to do something that will benefit them, they are attacking the government..

Seriously, only God Almighty can help us!

I have been saying this from day one.....

EndSARS?
Or restructure SARS?
SPECIAL ANTI ROBBERY SQUAD.

Armed robbers are smiling already to come out in full force, to steal, kill, rape and destroy Nigerians, in every part of the country.
What I want is for the biased officers among SARS to face serious repercussions for their crimes, not stopping them outrightly. These same armed robbers and fraudsters are the one ing the outright ban of Special Anti Roberry Squad, and not serious punishment that will deter other officers from doing the same. (The same fraudsters that will resort to stealing and armed robbery if their maga refused to pay anymore, they will resort to crime to keep up with their flashy lifestyle). For every 10 good arrest of robbers and criminals that we see on Nairaland everyday , there must be one killing of innocent people by the bad eggs among them. Cutting off the head is not the solution to headache.
If SPECIAL ANTI ROBBERY SQUAD is banned instead of serious punishment for the bad officers involved, Nigerians should get ready for the aftermath, I am only sorry for the good and innocent people that will be affected, many that will be robbed, raped, beaten and stabbed and they look back and regret the day they END Special ANTI ROBBERY SQUAD in Nigeria!
I have said my part.

In as much as you feel it shouldn't be scrapped, but to be reformed, the police force as a whole should be reformed and SARS scrapped.
The thing is the reformed police force could perform the same duty as Sars was created for

The Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act 2011 makes it a crime to transact cash transactions above 5 million Naira. It is on this basis that Atiku’s son in law is being tried. It does not matter how you get the money. Once the cash is above 5 million, it can only be transacted through a bank. If it is transacted in cash, it becomes a crime

But the truth is that most people are found of carrying huge amounts above 15 million and nobody knows...
