Anfieldboss:It is better you travel together with your spouse. Just ensure you have the relevant information, prepare well and commit it in God’s hands. Then consult those who have followed that route successfully. I followed that route and i am currently in US. Experience is the best teacher. 2 Likes 1 Share |

A friend of mine got PhD offer in the US. He has families and 2 kids. Since these kids will probably constitute nuisance and won't allow him to focus on his studies, can he forget about his family in Nigeria and tell his wife to find another husband? Going to the US is a big achievement and nothin should come in the way of that. Most times, it's better to forget about your parents in Nigeria and move anyways. That way you won't get bogged down with their issues while trying to figure your life abroadIt is evident you are ignorant of the merits of F1 traveling with his/her spouse and kids to the US, then your statement is spurious, baseless, unfounded and should be ignored by F1 and F2 applicants. I talk from experience. 1 Like |

Please, I need advice. My visa was approved for a school in the USA (one of the top schools for the program). My employer was to sponsor me and I used the company's statement of during my visa process with a sponsorship letter the whole tuition. Now, the company has withdrawn the sponsorship letter because of a change in management. The company just gave me 5k usd. This means I will be responsible for the tuition and living expense.Reach me via my email let me advice you on what to do next. I'm in US |

techkay:You shot yourself in the foot. The two major reasons you got denied, 1. You didn't know the duration of the program of your spouse. 2. That the major money for the funding of your trip will be coming from the stipends the school gives your spouse. It's obvious you didn't do a proper research, at least the duration of the program ought to be in the I-20 form and they ought to be a separate fund for your trip from a sponsor not from the stipends he gets from the school, i believe the school would have informed your spouse the cost of your trip and know the person that may be responsible for it. That you will stay with your spouse throughout the duration of his program may not be part of the reasons why you were denied visa because it is expected. I am talking from experience the same duration of program, F1 with spouse F2 and two kids F2,F2 and we got our visa approved. We are in US already. 14 Likes |

damilarelr:It was just one VO that interviewed my spouse and I, they couldn't have assigned separate VO to us because it was a t application. In my own case it was only the primary applicant(F1) that the VO asked questions on the choice of country, choice of school, choice of course, significance of the course, who will fund the trip and living expense of the 3 dependents for the duration of the program and plans after the program 3 Likes |

damilarelr:What program? You guys should go together it has a lot of advantages, ensure you go with all the relevant document. There is no point telling the VO that you want your dependents to have their visa then visit you when they are on vacation. I went with my spouse and children, so i'm talking from experience 1 Like |

I live in US, life here is far better naija. Please if you have genuine means to japa don't hesitate to japa, take it or leave it. |

The Imo State Government on Wednesday explained why it shut down Fancy Hotel, located in the Umuguma area of Owerri, the state capital. “The hotel was shut by the Task Force working with the committee on Covid-19 for failing to comply with directives on the coronavirus as it concerns the state,” Ogwuike Nwachuku, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Hope Uzodinma, said while responding to enquiries by News Express. “Unfortunately it happens that the owner of the hotel suspected to have returned from a country with high risk coronavirus attack had visited the place earlier. The Task Force had to move in to do the needful. As we speak Imo State has no single record of the coronavirus,” Nwachuku further said. News Express had this morning broken the news of the closure of the hotel and unmasked the owner, Christogonus Aguwa Osuagwu, as the unnamed second Nigerian to die of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country. Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Enahire, had announced the death on Monday at a press briefing in Abuja, disclosing that the death occurred last weekend but refused to disclose the identity of the victim. News Express reported that Fancy Hotel “has been shut down . . . by the Imo State Government while all the guests quarantined.” It added that Osuagwu’s “immediate family whom he visited in Ahiazu Mbaise as soon as he came back from Europe have also been quarantined.” The first person to die of COVID-19 in Nigeria was Engr. Suleiman Achimugu, a former Managing Director of the Products and Pipelines Marketing Company (PPMC). |
