Absolutely correct. Sex is sacred, has spiritual connections, implications. Only those that lack spiritual knowledge will argue or make jest of the pastor.

Well I really appreciate everyone's advice on the issue...
But as you all said being desperate or not able ti take care of the child isn't the issue..
The issue is that my unfortunate ex boyfriend impregnated me and left me three years ago and since then I have vowed not to have anything with guys again...

But along the line my parents sat me down to and asked me some essentially questions... All I could say is that am not interested in guys in generally but they said we don't judge book by its cover ...
My conclusion is that am not desperate nor rushing to settle down...I just need someone that I could confined in and he can do the same

Make you dey play

Being a single mum is not a crime. However, just like the guy above said, how much you allow the circumstances that got you to that point affect your psyche and overall well being is very important.

Most single mums act on some default settings that are a big turn off for men e.g, (1) their pecking order put the man at the rock bottom after their child, career or business and themselves (2) they feel so entitled and believes the world or men owe them (3) if their baby daddy is still alive, they will always wish things work out, even when another man is by the corner. For men, it is safe if the baby daddy ed on.

Besides, una wahala no be here, the baggage is always so much. If you're willing to prove the bookmakers wrong, you can attract very good men. It's plenty of work no doubt on your path. Will you be willing to place your man above your child?

If you strongly desire to have a man, in addition to believing God, you must allow the Spirit of God to dwell in you and break you down completely.

There's nothing that God cannot do. However, you will need to address some important behaviour in your life. Cheers

Broadcasting House, Ikoyi is a historically significant complex on Ikoyi Road in Old Ikoyi. It is called Broadcasting House, but it is actually a complex of many buildings.

Broadcasting House, Ikoyi was established in 1950 when the Radio Redifusion Service became the Nigerian Broadcasting Service (NBS), later known as the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC).

Professor Wole Soyinka, Professor Chinua Achebe, Cyprian Ekwensi, Uche Chukwumerije and other famous personalities worked here in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

Wole Soyinka said that he hated the Lagos traffic, so he used to drive to Unilag and then take a canoe to Broadcasting House and then a canoe back to Unilag when he had finished for the day.

This complex became a heavily militarised complex from the 1970s till 1999. I saw main battle tanks and armoured fighting vehicles in the compound. There was a machine gun nest beside the gate (there was a square hole in the wall of the gatehouse and it was surrounded by bags of sand and covered with camouflage nets. There was a general purpose machine gun in the hole). The soldiers used to maltreat Radio Nigeria workers.

The coupists placed soldiers in this complex during the January 1966 coup, but Ironsi later appeared at the complex and changed the soldiers.

Joseph Garba made his coup speech from this complex in 1975 and one of the soldiers told him that he was worried because there weren't enough soldiers at the complex. He needn't have been worried. Broadcasting House is opposite State House, Dodan Barracks and Ibrahim Babangida had surrounded Dodan Barracks with tanks.

General Murtala Muhammed was killed near this complex and Dimka walked to the complex on foot to make his coup speech. General T.Y. Danjuma sent Ibrahim Babangida to remove Dimka from Broadcasting House and he was angry that Babangida said that he had spoken to Dimka. He ordered Babangida to blow down the radio station if necessary, but he must stop Dimka's speech from being broadcast on the airwaves (Babangida did not want to harm the staff of the radio station, that's why he chose to talk to Dimka, rather than attack the complex). Dimka was eventually flushed out after a firefight.

Sani Abacha and Joshua Dogonyaro also made their coup speeches from here in 1983 and 1985.

Broadcasting House is not too far from my former house and I was woken in the middle of the night by loud explosions on April 22nd, 1990. Coupists had used the armoured vehicles at Broadcasting House to attack Dodan Barracks. It was from this complex that Gideon Orkar made his coup speech and Sani Abacha made his counter speech (after Brigadier Ishaya Bamaiyi had recaptured the complex).

A nightly curfew was declared on Ikoyi Road after that coup. Soldiers would seal off the road from 6pm till 6am. Some people that I know refused to heed my warning that they should go home early back in 1997. They got Okada riders to take them to Obalende around 6pm. They were able to get onto Ikoyi Road, but soldiers at the Obalende end stopped them and told them to walk back to Ikoyi on their knees.

Broadcasting House, Ikoyi was the headquarters of the NBC, later FRCN from 1950 till the mid 1990s when the headquarters moved to Abuja.

President Obasanjo appointed Dr Eddie Iroh as the director general of the Federal Radio Corporation (FRCN) in 1999 and he said that he got his greatest pleasure by ordering the soldiers to pack their equipment and leave the complex.

Broadcasting House, Ikoyi was the home of Radio Nigeria 1 (now Radio One). Radio Nigeria 2 (now Metro FM) was started here in 1979, but it moved to Martins Street shortly afterwards. It moved back to this place after the Martims Street station burnt down in the 1990s. Radio Nigeria 3 (now Bond FM) was started here in 1989.

Yes, this is the same complex from which legends like:

Dr Christopher Kolade
Ikenna Ndaguba
Princess Banke Ademola

Sonny Irabor, Joseph Akinyemi Johnson (J.A.J), Boniface Onogwu, Vin-Martin Ilo, Momoh Kubanje, Willy Egbe, Ohi Alegbe, Jones Usen, Ihria Enakhimio, Aloma Nwogbe, Godwin Asuquo, Ndidi Osaka, Femi Sowoolu, Phil Ushie, Jim Lawson Maduike, Ohi Alegbe, Femi Sowoolu, Ihria Enakhimio, Zachary Mohamed (Captain ZM), Manny Onumonu, Evelyn Russell, Veronica Osawere, John Chukwu, Emeka Odikpo, Ernest Okonkwo, etc. spoke to Nigeria.

In fact, Dr Kolade was trapped in Broadcasting House during Dimka’s coup.

Thanks so much for this rich history.

It's nostalgic ing names like Sonny Irabor or Vin-Martin Ilo or Jim Lawson or Zachary Mohamed every morning 7am and 4pm for the national network news. I think Ohi Alegbe later ed Radio Bendel in Benin City

Who is he? NDDC of which year because I'm seen his name or hearing his name for the first time. Who are those prominent Nigerianns if I may ask?

RIP to the mother!

No bad blood just not comfortable given hilarious headline to a very minor matter. Th mama is old and enjoyed life to the brim so no need making things look like it is Jesus mother that died.

No offense pls!!!

I'm sure the prominent Nigerians are the contractors the former SA helped facilitate their payments while working for the then ED finance. That simply connects the dots.

Oga don't use NNPC or Dangote as reference point. They are bunch of liars targeting our pockets. Google about international standards. Dangote that spends less in the crude transportation. Oga use google oooo. $5 is the highest to refine a barrel. And im sure you know what comes out from a barrel. Agbadorian ing impunity from ages

You know this 55cents cost of refining pms is not entirely correct. If it cost a max of $5 to refine a barrel. Next is to determine how many byproducts that are in a barrel of oil.

Now, the maths becomes tricky, cause you have over 6000 byproducts, meanwhile you get 159litres from one barrel of crude oil depending on the cracking technology. At the same time you can't spread the entire $5 on the 159litres, what about the other byproducts.

I made it clear in my post yesterday that israel cannot fight Iran without US and some people were not happy with me

We are not talking about Hamas and Hezbollah, but a regional power with a lot of military capabilities

There's little israel can do when it comes to Iran without USA

It's only the US air force that operates the strategic bombers capable of striking deep inside Iran, the question now is, will US such operation which will ignite a wider war in the region

One thing I want people to know is that, whatever happens in coming days is because of US involvement which will not be made known

Both sides are doling out calibrated response

Israel can take on Iran head on. However, when you have allies with interests in that region, you'll need to consult and calibrate the response such that it is proportionate. Think of the possible response from Iran and how to retaliate.

It is even the US that is calming down Israel for obvious reasons - elections are close and wouldn't want distraction. The far right govt in Israel won't mind hitting Iranian nuclear facilities but that would greatly escalate the crisis the US doesn't want. The US would want to choose targets it's most comfortable with.

Israel has strategic bombers with capabilities to strike deep into Iran.

Deepthoughts:
please just out of curiosity, can plane fly at slow speed like at 40km/hr?

Airplanes are designed to fly at much higher speeds than 40 km/h (25 mph). The minimum speed for most commercial airliners is around 250-300 km/h (155-186 mph), while general aviation aircraft and small planes can fly at slower speeds, typically around 100-150 km/h (62-93 mph).

Flying at 40 km/h (25 mph) is extremely challenging, if not impossible, for several reasons:

1. Lift: Airplanes need sufficient speed to generate lift, which is the upward force that counteracts weight. At low speeds, the wings may not produce enough lift to keep the plane airborne.
2. Control: Airplanes rely on airflow over the control surfaces (ailerons, elevators, and rudder) to maintain control. At very low speeds, these surfaces may not be effective, making the plane difficult to control.
3. Stall speed: Every airplane has a stall speed, below which it cannot fly. Stall speed varies depending on the aircraft, but it's typically around 50-100 km/h (31-62 mph). Flying at 40 km/h (25 mph) would likely put the plane below its stall speed.

However, some specialized aircraft, like:

1. Sailplanes (gliders)
2. Ultralight aircraft
3. Microlight aircraft
4. Some military aircraft (e.g., STOL - Short Takeoff and Landing planes)

can fly at slower speeds, sometimes even below 40 km/h (25 mph), due to their unique designs and capabilities.

Keep in mind that flying at such low speeds is usually only done in specific situations, like landing or taking off in short distances, and requires highly skilled pilots.

The Mods should move this to front page pls. This is very serious and funny at the same time.

The situation of things in the con3 occasioned by the recent fuel price hike, will start to reset and recalibrate family expense planning.

Firstly, many would either move the kids to cheaper schools that are walking distance to the house or to schools close to place of work or business. Secondly, cut down on number of kids and thirdly, raise the age at which these kids start school. What's paying N400k+ for an 18months old child? It's crazy!

Take some moment off to do an evaluation of yourself. Try to identify the issues or what is bothering you, could be finances, mental stress, emotional stress. Give your life to Christ and pray to God to give you peace, wisdom and understanding. Talk to a trusted family member. May the Good Lord guide you.

OT2024:
There was bitterness, anger and hatefulness in her tone. I decided not to stay a minute longer in her flat. As soon as I stepped out, she slammed the door at my back.

What an anticlimax! Life could be such a big paradox. The same woman I was kissing and caressing some minutes ago was the one hissing at me and treating me so scornfully.
This was certainly a misadventure, I concluded as I returned to our flat.

On Sunday morning, I decided to do general clean-up of the house, T.K would soon be going to church. He did not like my infrequent attendance of Sunday service, but he had to let me be. I remained indoor till afternoon. About 1.00 p.m. I prepared lunch of rice.

“I’m definitely going miss to you,” T.K said. “All the same, best of luck.”

At two o’clock, I took my bag and left for Ikeja. At Off Toyin Street, Ms. Morgan lived in a three-bedroom apartment. I met Linda there. Minutes later, Linda drove Ms. Morgan and me to the airport. I could see tears in her eyes as she waved bye to Ms. Morgan. The fifty minutes’ flight was smooth. I sat next to Ms. Morgan who was busy reading some documents.

At Abuja airport, we took a cab to the legislative quarters. Ms. Morgan had been allocated a detached three-bedroom bungalow. In the house, she had a maidservant and a cook. Briefly, she explained some working and living schedules to me.

“You would have to manage a room in the back quarter for now,” she said and showed me to the room. It was a neat and standard room with a 4 inches by 6 inches bed, a reading table, a chair and an in-built wardrobe.

I opened my bag and arranged some of the clothes I had brought inside the wardrobe.
Some minutes, the maid came to tell me that madam would like to see me in the main building. I went to see her.

“I hope you’re not bored. I will get a television for your room by tomorrow,” she said as soon as I got inside the large sitting-room.

“Oh, I can always manage to get by.”

She motioned me to one of the exquisite, leather seats in the room. I sat down graciously.

“You can stay around for now to watch the t.v. Do not hesitate to let me know anything you need.”

I nodded. “Alright, madam.”

She soon left the sitting-room. I changed the channel of the television to a news channel. A while later, the maid told me food was ready.

“Will you like to eat it here, or should I take it to your room?”

I thought I needed privacy, so I said she should take the food to my room. I got up and returned to the room.

I followed Ms. Morgan to her office in the official car the following day. Everything still looked like a movie to me. On her instruction, her secretary gave me letter of employment and identity card. She also briefed me about where my office would be and other official matters.

Working for Ms. Morgan was interesting and fruitful. Now, I was closely working with her. The working schedule varied, as sometimes we could be in the office as late at nine in the night. Sometimes, she would we needed to work on Sunday. I must say she was very generous. She was always giving and asking me if there was anything I needed.

Our relationship remained official but cordial.
For now, I was under the payroll of the federal government. Of course, the remuneration was times three of what Ms. Morgan had earlier offered. I never hesitated to thank her for the opportunity she had given me.

Nice update. Keep them coming.

This kind of precision attack is very advanced and for it to have been carried out on Iranian soil shows Israeli intelligence has infiltrated Iran's security system. Both Hezbollah and Iran will reply with a calibrated to save face as usual but not to escalate the situation. Their leaders equally fear for their personal safety as they won't underate Israel's ability to strike their targets.
