It simply means any Nigerian enger departing from Nigeria and heading to Canada will not be allowed to board. Only Canadians and permanent residents. Please also note that a Nigerian can also be a permanent resident and in such a case he or she would be allowed to board. But if you are a Nigerian and departing from another Country you are good to go as long as you were not in Nigeria in the last 14days before boarding the plane.
So in simple it means no Nigerian visitors or Students departing from Nigeria is allowed into Canada for now. But if you are a Nigerian and you have permanent resident status in Canada. You are free to travel from Nigeria.

This is very clear but still confusing. spouse is presently in UK. He entered after the ban was announced. Does this mean he can fly from UK after spending 14 days in the UK? Will the Uk authority allow this?

Any one who has applied for extension or renewal of travel exemption authorization before? My son's own was backdated to the date of medical request and it took 2 months later to get actual visa. Family is missing planned travel this Friday due to the new Nija direct flight ban ban. And with the required 14-days quarantine in 3rd country route, the 3-months validity would be maxed out before it ends. Any tips or ideas about this? If the information is #KoDed, please try inbox me directly so we can be discrete with the next moves. Thanks.

Request a new one from IRCC through the IRCC travel exemption email. My children got theirs April and but expired before their August travel date. I requested a new one and was issued in a direct email reply within 48 hours. This time their names appear in one letter. But funny no one requested for it all through the journey except in Nigeria.

Hold on, how many weeks does it take to return the port after submitting it

Because you mentioned PPR since October 10 and port received today November 18, that is more than 5 weeks intervals between the date.

Please will like to know when the port was submitted and was it Lagos or Abuja

Thanks.

Was a typo. PPR was received November 10th. Submitted through DHL to Abuja 11th and got it back today.

btw please what was the timeline of your spouses application and was it the new portal or the usual GC key?

Thanks. I hope there is no need for AL again. For time line, visitor visa application was first submitted June 6th with upfront. Medicals ed within 3 days. Authorisation Letter request refused and information received that application will be processed normally. No update till the September 7th opportunity to resubmit. Resubmitted through the usual GCKEY September 11. Applied for AL the same day. Forwarded the Al application mail again October 29th. BVL and PPR November 10. port received today with visitor visa issued beyond spouse's study permit.

Anyone travelled recently with a visitor visa? What are the requirements? Spouse got visitor visa approval till the expiration of his port in 2025.

I am a PR, and we submitted a visitor visa application for my wife on June 30th. When we received an update that all those who applied before Sept 7th should reapply, we also reapplied for her on Sept 9th
Yesterday Nov 9th she got a port request.

PS: both applications were through the old portal but it is the most recent one they approved exactly 2 months after we submitted it.

The process for port submission is not clear in the PPR pdf and on VFS global's website. Anyone here who just submitted their port and is kind enough to explain how they did it?

Thank you in anticipation.

Did you get any update on your application before you got PPR notification?

I totally agree with you about the errors. My application was refused saying that I had a higher degree than proposed study . I actually have a Bsc and going for post graduate certificate. Even my LOA that was confirmed from school has all the information. See my pre assesment note here and then the refusal was a shocker. These people do make errors really but it will always end in Praise for us

In my opinion this denial look harsh! They are human and make so much error sometimes. Have you requested another note to see the senior VO's concern? You will surely get it. The delay is just unacceptable.

Application declined 18th August 2021.
Timeline:
Application submitted April 26th 2021 (PhD with full funding). Also submitted my personal bank statement (not MBS).
NSE request May 7. Ignored it and went with normal route.
Upfront medical ed june 25th.
Eligibility review always read "in progress..."

Reason for refusal: We are not convinced you will be able to pay the tuition fee. Also, you do not have sufficient finance for your accompanying family member to Canada.

P.S: My full funding covered both tuition and monthly expenses. I also submitted my statement indicating that I can pay for my miscellaneous expenses. I did not include that anyone is accompanying me. Infact in my IMM form, I specifically selected "no" to this question.
Obviously, they did not do a thorough review.
I'm awaiting my notes.

Wishing you all the best as you await their response.

You can imagine such obvious error from IRCC. These guys make too many errors and its so unacceptable. You will surely get approval with your profile.... It's just the little delay.

The same thing happened to me when I requested for the renewal of Travel Exemption Letter for my children because theirs expired since it wasn't used within the 3 months validity period. The guy that handled the request said the application with my UCI number wasn't approved so I was not eligible to request Travel Exemption Letter for my children. And I attached everything o - I mean my student visa, their visitor visas and the expired exemption letters.

In fact my other letter quoting the refusal reason was filled with anger questioning IRCC standard. I got their responds after 16 days with the new Travel Exemption Letter. These guys make too many errors.

Just stay positive and shoot again.

Good Morning Gurus and Everyone in the house,
Please I need your help and advice on the details below.
Thanks in advance

Usually, you should get a call from IOM few days after your medicals. Reach out to them if you haven't gotten the confirmation call. If you have been told that your results have been sent, you can complete your travel plans but make sure you travel with a copy of the new e-medical slip. Although updated in your records within the first few days, it can take up to a month for your document status to be updated of it's showing "document is invalid".

Exactly , people cases are relative , a lot of persons here have been denied boarding due to the lack of that documents, they are not giving us the full story , what I strongly know if you have documents, it's not personal, they just have to show you the four weeks policy and that's it, lol the guidelines is there for everyone to see, we all know from July 5th , vaccinated travelers can travel without the whole hotel quarantine subject to the approval of the BSO, only the airline that is forthcoming would student be travelling, all these inefficiencies can't be condoned , people travelled 2 months to resumption for may class , online students travelled months before fall class and they had no problems, everybody case is relative..

Be calming down small. Those saying they were denied boarding didn't say they didn't have enrolment confirmation. Once you have paid your fees you can easily access and print enrolment confirmation from the school portal. The airline argument is that its too early to travel. I my case I have everything. I argued. They snap and send all documents to their rep in Egypt who gave the final decision. We were like 3 that day and all with enrolment confirmation. I used my children AL that was expiring and the reply from the man up there was that they can't travel since parent isn't boarding, So much have changed.

Bullied ke. This was just last week. You think I would just leave the airport without making effort? Don't advise anyone to travel long before resumption. Those airlines won't carry.

That's not true, you can't be refused to board when you have enrolled , the airline wants to know if you are an active student that's why they are asking for enrollment, once you are enrolled in a program, it means you are already a student for that year but some schools won't enroll you until it's close to the programe while some schools enrolls you immediately you confirm your study permit, as far you are enrolled and you have a quarantine plan , it's left for the border officer to determine if you are arriving early or not and if you are early they would want to know if you have enough funds to take care of yourself without working, so far we haven't seen anyone who has been stopped from boarding while having their enrollment letter.......... , No where in the arrival guidelines said one month except they have their special website where they take instructions from..

Sadly, it doesn't work this way in Nigeria airports. Those airlines staffs work as if they are Canadian border officers . I was going for my semester 3. I have evidence of the completed semesters and enrolment confirmation for semester 3 starting in September but was refused boarding by Egyptair. They held it was too early to travel for September resumption. Me weh be old student already o. That's how I was turned down. I told them my visa was approved since November 2020 and was not in a hurry to japa but for where. I argued with them to take me there to face the border officer myself and take responsibility if returned by the border officer. Those airlines especially the ones operated by Africa countries won't board you. I explained my kids exemption letter were expiring and not certain about renewal and it was necessary to travel early to get enough time after quarantine to rent and find schools for them before resumption so I can balance their school runs and mine but for where. She categorically told me should wouldn't answer me again. Myself and other students were just treated like slaves in our own country. Hardest of it is the airline requesting fair difference and penalty payments to reschedule. Anyway we shall overcome all these ill treatment soon.
It is strongly advised to wait few weeks before resumption. Although I'm sure Airlines operated by Europe countries wouldn't go that far.

Hello Guru's in the house please help, I just got my GCMS note after applying with all NSE requirements since FEB 17.

The current status of my application is "Review Required".

Is it possible I send further documents via webform to tackle this issues now?

If so: I opened my on law firm September last year, and I have been practicing, the firms have different transactions in it running into 10s of millions... should I send this information ?

Further to this I am also a director and share holder in another company with has been running since 2017, do I send this also?

I also have a pig farm, with the title documents and ID card from the farmer's association.

Regarding availability of funds: Should funds from the business be transferred be transferred to my personal then I send the bank statement I am thinking CAD 10,000.

Please o, Kindly advise me on how to proceed.

Did you include the details above stated in your application? The VO's review does not look like you included your law firm and confirmation that you have been practicing or a confirmation of being a director and shareholder in another company. Looks like you concentrated on your sponsor and wrote little about yourself to prove a strong home ties. Your profile looks good except you probably did not include them in your SOP and picked only on your voluntary work experience. Just my observation from the notes. The gurus will attend to you. Goodluck

Hi @sonsynas..... Concerning your first issue in doing a second Masters even though with a Second Class Upper, I would use my case to give you my advice. I graduated from Cambridge in my Undergrad and just rounded up my Masters last year in Dublin. I would advice you to get a MSc course/program which aligns with your previous Masters (depending on when you finish) as I did and tell the VO why and why that program will be of immense development to you as a person. I will give you an example. I am a Lawyer, yeah, but I opted to Business in my first Masters and applied for the MBA program with UCwest and even though i was discouraged that it wasnt a good idea, I can tell you today, I am currently in Canada waiting for the July session to begin.

In other words, all these boils down to how you present your SOP and PLEASE...try to make a very convincing argument in your study plan. I hope this helps??

About your second issue, sorry i am very much single and dont know much about family immigration. The gurus and others in the house can aid you further.

It will surely end in praise.

July and you already landed in May? Please when did you travel? I'm resuming my second academic session in September and I 've been thinking if its safe to travel late June. Please drop a little hint about your landing jist. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing. Please just a few questions that will be of great help to me if you don't mind cos I applied without my kids and I've been restless ever since. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

How old are your kids and how did you go about it? Did you have to explain why you applied without them in the first place?
What's the duration of your study?
How soon after you got approval did you apply for them.
Was there something you did to expedite the process like a priority letter or something?

Forgive the many questions

They are 3, 7 and 10 years old respectively.
2 years program I was already completing first semester when I got mine approved because I started online class with AIP.
Immediately after picking up my port.
I applied for authorization for travel exemption. This speeds up the process.
I hope that helps

Hello Guys,

I am trying to book a flight from Lagos to Toronto airport.

From the research I have done so far, the price tickets seems to be cheaper on Wakanow website than the airline website.

My question now is, how reliable is Wakanow for booking flight ticket ?

Has anybody had any issue booking a flight with Wakanow ?

Is it better to just book from the airline website directly ?

From the airline websites, I got the prices below:

KLM Royal Dutch: Lagos to Toronto $797 wait 5hrs in Amsterdam
British Airways $675 wait for 11 hrs in London
Ethopian Airlines N317K wait 2hrs 45 mins in Addis Ababa and Dublin
Fly Emirates N494K wait 4hrs 10 mins in Dubai
Qatar Airways $824 Wait 3hrs 10mins in Doha Qatar
Lufthansa $847 Wait for 7hrs 35mins in Frankfurt
Air Canada $1107CAD wait for 3hrs55mins in Frankfurt

From Wakanow, it is cheaper than the prices above except for Ethopian airline which is close.

So which is better and safer, booking through Wakanow or directly from the airline website.

Check if the conditions for luggage are the same. Sometimes the agent sites don't add the number of luggage as the airline site and that reduces the ticket prices. Check all conditions thoroughly.

Congratulations on the approval of your study permit and that of your dependent children. To answer your question, I can understand how difficult it is for you to leave your beloved spouse (husband) behind. However, this is a sacrifice you've to make in order to ensure that his application is favourably considered by the immigration authorities of Canada. Having said that, It's important you travel to Canada and obtain the relevant documents such as your study permit letter and SIN as well as proof of accommodation in Canada prior to applying for him. If you apply for him to you while you're still in Nigeria, the immigration might not issue him an exemption authorization letter and the processing of his application might be prolonged.

This is my professional advice for you and your family. I wish you all the best.

It will end in praise

Many thanks @Frankrobbn1 for this golden responds. I will keep you in the know much later when I'm ready. Thanks and God bless you for your selfless service.

So, I received my visa approval since December. I later applied for my 3 children afterwards and got their visas approved. I won't be studying till Fall 2021 as I just rounded up the second semester.
The problem is I have been married for 12 years and we have never been separated. I am planning to also add my spouse so we can get decision before fall 2021. Is this safe? I won't be able to concentrate if he doesn't come with the family. @Frankrobbn1 and other gurus please advice
