Evening .. trust your day was good. The issue of language it's the same thing I have heard from people in Norway. If you end up migrating to Norway you'll still have to learn the language as it opens up a whole lot of other opportunities.
Learning a new language at an advance age is never easy mehn. I read somewhere on this thread that most Norwegians speak and understand English.

This thread is so detailed and helpful, thanks to everyone contributing.

I'm making plans to apply for schools once the ission window is open in October. I have been denied visit visa in the past from the Uk four times, will this affect my chance of getting a student visa into Norway?

Ask any soldier on ground even most of the 1970s battle tank we have including the much talked about T72s are not even serviceable, it's that bad that parts from other tanks are being cannibalised to service the ones at the fronts. The situation is very pitiable, I've talked going for second new vehicles like the humvees used by Americans in Iraq for patrols than the Toyota pickup truck we use for patrols that melts when in with even knock outs. The thing is all about playing our politics right internationally, if you don't lobby the powers that be, they won't sell to you and they'll go ahead to block any sale to you from other countries. That was why under Jonathan regime situations was so bad that we had to ferry raw cash to buy weapons in the black market which again doesn't come cheap.
ohh I've heard that story alot, just yesterday one came visiting me and was narrating his ordeal

I feel sorry for most of them. I pray God continues to protect our soldiers

Most of them are highly motivated, though not professionally trained as one will expect but their fighting spirit is tremendous

But you see the red necks.the are our problems

Many of them go for courses abroad the see advance equipments. The even take pictures in them and post online

But bringing such to their own country is forbidden

The thrive on the ignorance of our law makers and president on key military matters, present whatever inferior equipment for commisoning and send them over to the NE for soldiers to be slaughtered in

The BH insurgency cannot be won overnight, that's the truth it's going to be a long war

The insurgents keep adapting and restrategising

Why is it difficult for the military to do same??

What I said is with respect to reality on ground. I'm a realist and I never decieve myself esp when making decisive decisions. My point is very clear, the army as presently constituted won't go for advanced combat helicopters in the interim because many factors chief of which is funding, let's not talk about the cost helicopters and crewmen, do you know the cost of "dumb bomb" talkmore of arming the newly acquired helicopters with Advanced weapons.
At present it will pay the army more putting into cognizance their lean budget to go for drones, Light attack helicopters with transport capabilities than buying one or two Mi's/Apaches that will be parked up after 2 years.
Transport helicopters like the Chinook has multirole capabilities, it's not only for troop insertion/evacuation it carries it's on specialised weapons.
If you really follow the events in the north east you ought to know that ISWAP/Al-Barnawi faction of BH have the capability to shoot down a low altitude aircraft. You don't just jump into an aircraft and go for interjection missions without putting into consideration factors like weather, enemy weapons etc. Go and watch "Lone Survivor" to have an idea of what I'm talking about with respect to the disaster that can occur during air raid/ rescue mission.
look I get the point you're making, "funding" yes funding and maintaining such hardwares comes with its problems

I'm not saying the Nigerian military should be equipped like the US or the Brit's

This weapons cost alot, but I can assure you that the Nigerian government is capable of getting at least 5 of this platforms and maintaining them, but corruption will not allow them. the rather use funding as an excuse of not equipping it's fighting force. Look at the army using T72 as MBT in this generation and time

Okay we can't get new ones, how about getting already used? Some nations do that, or don't they??

Let's be realistic, yes this equipment cost alot, but it's war and people are dying in their own country, not by a war waged by an invading force

I know we have what to takes to get this platform, I'm not saying we should be equipped like the Americas or heck even Egypt

We have the funds. The government and the military hierarchy is just not willing to end the war, sadly because most are benefiting from it

Jesus!! Apache for army grin . Even the airforce on behalf of FG have being trying to get that machine since 2012, America refused to sell to us citing the "Leahy's law" even a third party country won't sell it to you, common Chinook was turned down by the Americans even when the Israelis where willing to sell their's to us they blocked it. To be frank to you we ain't getting no Apaches even in 10yrs time talkmore of the army. The much talked about Tucano aircraft that will enter service in 2020 was made possible by Donald Trump because of his businessman mentality and also the will to us compared to the Obama's istration.
The army don't need attack helicopters for now, what they need is transport helicopters, flying close mission is very very dangerous because helicopter fly at lower altitudes compared to fix wings and are slower than jets engines making them vulnerable to enemy fire, that's where the expertise of the air force comes into play, they train regularly for such missions.

As for the General, it is one thing for him to make a wish and another for it to be granted, that's why I initially said you people should hold politicians responsible, a common house of representatives member is somewhat powerful than a General.
The army didn't order for Apache helicopters. The cobra helicopter were ordered

The deal was blocked back then because the United States under President Obama wouldn't sell weapons to countries accused of gross Human Rights violations

The Chinook deal was flawed under Ibrahim babaginda regime. Siting almost same reasons as under Jonathan, Human Rights violations and holding on to power for long or in simple government instability

Saying the Nigeria army does not need combat helicopters shows you might have not being following development in the NE from the onset

The army is in dare need of attack helicopters. You talked about getting transport helicopters

I guess you don't know transport helicopters ferrying troops don't move without attack helicopters providing air/ground cover until troops are dispatched

I have seen a couple of people who were refused and one thing runs through the reason. That they do not have strong ties in their home country to make them return if they are not selected during the army training.
Looking at your profile, no work or school, you need a miracle for the visa to be granted because you have close to zero ties to compel you to come back.

For Uk army assessment, already you have declared your intention of working in the UK and ECOs are aware that it is not an automatic selection during the assessment so they pay attention to you ties in your home country.

The advise I sometimes give people who want to UK Army is to apply for a normal visitor and when you arrive you attend the two days assessment.

I intend applying for a 6month visitor's visa

Should I tell the ECO that I'll be back after the assessment even if I , and then go back when I'm called for training

Do you think that'll work?

Iran won't attack the USA, and the USA won't attack Iran. If there is war, the whole gulf states including Israel will be affected. Thousands or millions of people will die.

Not only Persians will die, American soldiers,Jews, Arabs will all be affected. It will also cost the USA billions of dollars. So I am so sure none of those countries want this to happen except Netayanhu.
yeah you made a valid point there, Israel has been looking for an opportunity to srike Iran's nuclear plant and destroy it militarily
Faculty14(m): 9:23pm On May 22, 2019
BabaOwen:
Sadam Hussein didn't deal with Iran. Iraq with all the they got and a more powerful military invaded Iran. Even though his military had an advantage cause they attacked first, his army was kicked out of all Iranian territory in 1982. in fact he was the one that was begging for the war to end which Ayatollah was rejecting.

Iraq was ed by all the Arabs country, NATO,USA and USSR, with all that they struggled against an Iranian military that's not as powerful as it is now.

I'm sure the Iranians are not stupid, they won't attack the USA first, if the USA attack them, the war won't end in Iran. I expect Iran to order Hezbollah to attack Israel, and Iran will also send ballistic missiles to UAE and Saudi Arabia, those two country should be within the Iranian missile range.

And I see the USA fighting alone, I don't think NATO will them in the war.

Trump has no excuse from backing out of that deal, trump is just Netayanhu boy.
which nation contributes the largest troops to NATO?

Where do you keep Israel and the UK??

Iran won't be stupid enough to attack the United State, trump has state it repeatedly that he doesn't want a war with Iran, but the U.S won't fail to attack if Iran try's anything funny

I read earlier someone talking about new weapons developed by the Iranians that person probably thinks the U.S doesn't update it's Arsenal

Iran will be severely dealt with all its major infrastructure destroyed, it's economy it's military all destroyed.

The highest Russia can do is supply arms to Iran, any direct confrontation leads to ww3.

See enn.. My problem is not even with people drinking sniper or reading suicide news again.. Nowadays, I laugh after reading suicide news and simply say to myself "another idiot gone again"

These people committing suicide do so, to know how much they will be missed by their friends and loved ones..how many people will cry, how they will cry, who will cry more etc.. It is more like, they want to witness their own death while still alive.. Really crazy.. Because before now, suicide was - kill yourself and go your way..

But now, suicide is - take pictures with sniper, post it on social media, pose, post short video crying, write series of posts and then die, just to get social media attention. undecided

That thing is not depression...it is either there is a mumu spirit telling these persons to do it and see how they will be missed/how much they are loved OR they are just being plain stupid.

Social media has really made people stupid and vissionless.. Not sniper..

What do I even know sef undecided just saying my own
you actually have a point

As hard as it may seem or sound, I think some people are actually committing suicide to get love and attention from social media

It has become a trend many are following now.

I think the news filtering the air whenever someone commits suicide is also contributing

You see, the problem with all those anti America hot heads is that they mistake the US culture of self-restraint for weakness. The dudes have no idea that almost the entire Europe literally pay the US for protection.

These dudes have no idea that the US can actually shut down the entire world within 24 hours if they feel like it.

They did not know how ionately they should be thanking God that it's not China, Russia or the Arabs that has the kind of power that the US posses.

they know nothing boss. The don't no NATO is still U.S

They don't know U.S has bases in the UK and

The don't know U.S once fought in the Persian gulf and defeated it's enemies

They don't know the U.S has being fighting wars for the past 20years making it the most experienced fighting force in the world

The don't know as a result of there fighting years, the keep adapting and innovatiing new techniques and weapons for Modern Warfare

Or maybe the know but are blinded by sentiments.
