Picking up domains because someone sold one will most likely not bring much success... and it will limit your domain picking strategy in the long run. Also, what you just displayed here is why a lot of people stopped reporting sales because nobody likes the idea of someone ing their buyer just because they chose to share what is sold.

It is possible to make sales picking related domains if you pick with market sense and if it is a trendy niche in market i e. Like NFT or Meta or web3 names in the market

I just lost 2 sales now and I feel like sharing.
The first one expired last year, I didn't renew because I felt it is not worth it. The domain dropped day before yesterday. And I received an offer of $1250 from the domain yesterday but there is nothing I can do again because I don't own the domain any more.

The second domain also has expired. But I still have it listed at Afternic for $499. I received the mail from Afternic that it has sold for that price. I checked the name on whois and I saw it has expired since December but I can still redeem it.
The domain was ed with SAV and I have read how difficult it is to reach their customer .
I sent a mail to them and I also opened a ticket asking them to help me redeem it even though I knew I was going to pay more. Their reply didn't come on time. I also sent a mail to them on Namepros but I was asked to go through their website. Eventually they replied yesterday's evening and told me the redemption of the domain will cost $80 and it will take 2 days. I expected it to be immediate because I was in similar situation last year with Epik. Rob asked me to pay $80 also and the domain was restored immediately.
To cut the whole story short, Afternic cancelled the sale now and I am sincerely disappointed with SAV for this.

To avoid such situations in case of next time especially for the second domain. Get all your domains auth code and keep them in a file. For use when any of your domains get expired and in redemption period, you can still transfer them out of that registrar instead of paying $80 redemption period; you can get your domains out of them.

If you have spent more than your dollar monthly transaction limit, your transaction will not go through. Besides that you need to meet them to activate your card for foreign currency transactions

Happy Sunday guys. I acquired one domain that dropped last night. Kinda two words, two syllables domain like say 'PayPal' or 'YouMe' for example. The owner has been using it for his product consecutively since 2013 and never let it go. I just discovered this morning that he trademarked the name since 2013 too and his trademark filling expired last month but still showing Live Trademark when I checked!

I'm kind of scared, I don't want wahala... Am I free to still own the domain or should i ask for a refund?

Do not ask for any refund, do not delete the domain neither, even if he wants to make any case; he will spend minimum of about $2000 to file the case and if you are selling for around $1000 -$1500 he will rather prefer to buy the name from you. Fighting for trademark is not for free.
