1stGenAmerican: This comment is distastefully generalizing, and such an unfair assessment it leaves me speechless. These people don't insult Nigerians? You mentioned African-Americans- was the pinnacle of Nigerians fight with them not the whole foundational Black American thing, with them claiming Nigerians are relocating to the USA and 'stealing their jobs?' Should Nigerians have kept quiet and allowed the narrative and negative profiling they were peddling to stand? When Ghanaians* were dragging Hilda Baci, and South Africans were dragging Ayra Starr, Nigerians should have left them and thrown their own to the wolves? When a Liberian lady, unprovoked, threw a shade at Nigerian women and continued to deride us, we should have turned the left cheek? Maybe unnecessary, but if I take the time to, I can probably, most likely fish out the "origins" of these "beefs" with any other out-group. Will you find individual Nigerians talking out of point and starting shit? Yes. But the same is also true for any other citizens of any country you can mention, who, way I see it, more often than not, start shit with Nigerians. And I am not exonerating Nigerians here. I am not freeing us of culpability in any toxicity, but it's social media. Things get messy. People bully and dox and drag (and bant) and say all manner of things that compound and muddle up so much that you cannot identify an instigator or put the blame squarely on one group of people. I also agree, that Nigerians overwhelmingly went for Paul Graham's head, but that was literally quite because he shared a prejudiced opinion. A very biased one with the potential to affect Nigerian developers seeking grants and whatnot. This Chidinma case for instance, NOTHING instigated the attacks against her. Nigerians did not. It was the South Africans who started dragging her, based off of her name, that it went viral until Nigerians (me inclusive) saw it. There was nothing they did not accuse her of, inspite of the fact that she's been living in SA all her life. Mind you, there are other contestants with "white foreign names" who were competing for the same title, so what exactly was odd about Chidinma's if it's not because it sounded Nigerian? They dragged her so much so that they got their Home Affairs involved, and those one too came out with a "prima facie evidence" press statement. So, as at now, no crime has been attributed to the girl or her parents. There are screenshots of a TikTok video flying around where South Africans were planning on the kind of bags they'll take to loot stores, counting on a Xenophobic protest breaking out over Chidinma's participation should she fail to withdraw from the competition (might be a joke,,but still in bad taste nonetheless). She was hounded out of the competition. She was viciously attacked online, and I am not using colorful words liberally here: I witnessed it. She felt threatened and had to pull out for the safety of her family. Does that sound like what a group of people who just want things to be done the right way would do? And just, just to finish- you're surely not justifying or downplaying xenophobia against Nigerians living in SA because *checks notes* Nigerians are insulting each other on Nairaland? Because I trade words with people online, like everybody else does on social media, I deserve to be killed and discriminated against, because of my nationality? Same insults and exchange of words politicians all over the world uses on one another? You're reducing xenophobia to a matter of lack of respect and difference in opinions? Good Lord. I mean, 4chan and some deep dark subreddit holes harbour ×500 more vileness than you could ever come across on NL. Is anybody xenophobic to Americans in different places they are all over the world? |

Mistral: If there's anything you probably got right in all you've said, it would be this. Eun oiaa if you are that girl, then that is why - and only why I'm making proposals to you. You are my catch, my type of woman - my very goal. This is weird. Your whole post, and even emails to me are weird. Like you sat down, thought it out and decided this post was okay to send? I am not your type of woman because: - I hate men - Secondary to hating men is intentionally positioning myself for a relationship. If you went through my posts' history and had an idea of who I am as you claimed, you will know I am unrealistic to the point of believing in chance encounters only or "we were not planning on this, it just kinda happened." You would have interacted with me on your main first. That would have been the first step in proving your "legitimacy." But either way, I do not care for making any friendship, so I hope this post would be the last of it from you. Do have a great life. 1 Like |

biaframaster200: Are you not ashamed like this? ![]() ![]() You people will ask what he has ever done as a governor, and people will show you proof, then you'll say that's what he was meant to do before. He's not using his money. No, I thought y'all accused him of investing state money into his family business or needlessly saving it? So now you agreed that he actually put the state's money into good use, as he's meant to? And look at you. You will defend the ones who will plunder the masses into poverty and make their generations fat on public money, but the one serving the people is doing what no one else has ever done. It is ilara that is doing you. Ote. Oninufufu. Better clear your heart of bile so you can be well in body, spirit and soul ehn? FYI, Obi does good with his personal money for the general public just as he did good for the people of Anambra in his capacity as a governor. |

AcuraZDX: No, I am in AWE. All caps. When I tell you I am in awe, I am literally in awe. Infact, awe is an understatement to describe how I feel about this man. 'What a man!' You're right. He's literally a living proof of doing things for posterity. Doing things without your right hand knowing. Doing things that OTHER people will blow your trumpet about. Because evidence dey. E dey always dey. ![]() ![]() You'll be nothing but a bitter senseless hater to have anything against this man. No matter what angle they attack him from, there are workings to block any agenda. He's so unparalleled in making investments that continue to yield dividends many years into the future. Look at what he's doing for the nursing profession all over the country too. Tomorrow, when he speaks in favour of nursing and someone comes to ask what he's done for them now, the actions of today will be proof for tomorrow. I love him so much 💗. May God continue to bless him and spare his life long enough for him to be president and turn the country around. 3 Likes |

folake4u: Exactly! You understand where I'm coming from. It's big twenty-two-four! This one even saw me in real life. I was out, just coming down from the bus when she walked up to me. So I told her my name, and she collected my number after I unsuccessfully tried to wade her off. I think she's a marketer. She had a list of other s she's gotten. My name's unisex, so while I will make a little excuse for her thinking I'm a man (assuming she's forgotten my face), I expected her 'business sense' or whatever should have told her to be neutral when it comes to addressing someone's gender. Or maybe I expected too much- it's Nigeria where most people do things anyhow. |
