So my first trip was VI. Dropped rider and I got another(Heart leaped for joy)
Called rider and asked him his location. He told me. Asked him his destination and he flared up. He was like "Cancel it if you're not going. What's this rubbish?" and he hung the call on me.

My ego was telling me to cancel while the "meekful" spirit of Jesus(definately not mine) told me to get to the pickup.

Got there, oga entered and was just pouring his anger on me. He wasn't insultive neither did he disrespect me, but he was angry. I was trying to explain but he didn't want to hear. He said, "If you want to go, start the trip or cancel so I'll come down".

I spoke briefly to God to change any Alagbole or Iju or Apapa there and I slid START TRIP. It was Sangotedo

Oga was just vexing and never even let me talk. He complained from Akin Adesola to Samuel Manuwa and finally he said "Don't talk to me please, just drive". All these while I was just saying "I'm sorry bros"

It's was a silent ride to his abode. Ended trip. Oga paid and then he said "Will you be available by 2pm? I would like you to take me to Ikeja".

At that point, I knew I just graduated from 1 star to 2 star and above

Can you see one of them here!!! That stupid mindset. What is wrong in being a taxi driver? Is it degrading or derogatory?? Is a job that feeds you, come out , embrace it, be proud of it....don't discuss your failed career with your engers or riders. He/she has issues too. Why will a driver be telling a rider his qualifications if there is no discussion that leads to that? Will telling the rider change anything?

Na so I dey inside 1.6 surge for Agungi last night. But I was getting requests with no surge plus 8 mins pick up, I kukuma ignore. Surge dropped to 1.4 and luckily got 1 request for same 1.4 plus 2mins pick up. I speedily accepted

Some riders no send o. At Lekki, I once entered a very deep flood when going to pick a rider & taking him out of the street to the main road. I turned off AC before I entered the water, turned it back on like 3 mins later but it affected my AC. The guy didn't show any concern. I spent so 15k, time & energy on the matter. The trip no even enter 1k.

Please guys help me. I use a Samsung 6s and the battery doesn’t last at all. If I put on Uber app, it drain the battery faster than taxify app. It’s a very big challenge for me. I’ve changed d battery still the same issue. Who can recommend a more faster charging charger for me and where to buy it. I’ve like 3 very good chargers and good cords, but still having same issues.

I just changed d transmission oil like 4 months ago, I wanted to change my engine oil by myself, so after watching how to do it on YouTube, I went under d car, instead of loosing d engine oil nut, I loosed d gear oil nut and throw away d oil. It was when I check d engine oil gauge I discovered I’ve bleeped up.
I bought d original Toyota gear oil almost 13k. I called Gazzuzz and he advised me on d oil to buy which I did.

If only a voice told you to take the drained oil close to your nose, you would have known. And the oil must be very dark.

Now back to the main topic here. It is never good to use water in your radiator .. For the simple fact that water boils at a higher speed than coolant . When the engine is running you need coolant to cool it off , mean while water keeps boiling and at times it will cause overheating. When you water instead of coolant. It will coz leakage and rust in your radiator.. Before you know you are replacing radiator.. At times you see people park their car on the street with the hood open.. The car is overheating ,due to the use of water. Nothing to keep the engine cool. And funny thing is that even though coolant might be expensive, you only need it for few years ,some can last up to 5 years in your radiator.. It is not something you use like engine oil .. But Google is your friend, you can read more about coolant. Also if the water is turning browish ,it's either too much rust at the bottom of the radiator, bad water or something else. Have a specialist take a look at it . You might need to replace the radiator.. If it does need replacement, just make sure you look for quality coolant ..

I met a rider who thinks he is smart today, I picked up a request I told rider I was on my way cos it was 5km distance(though I delayed a bit cos of too many locked estate gates). When I finally got to Rider's estate, he got angry he refused to pick his call and also didn't want to end the trip, I waited at d estate gate with security for over 10min, gave him 5 missed call,. I was pissed
Las Las I vex give d security 100h, told him my bro number is switched off, but I know exactly where I'm going, I got to pickup point, and zoomed off.
40sec to chop 400 waiting time, rider call pleading for me to come back and pick him so he won't be charged 400, I declined cos Las Las na 1 star trip

Not ya fault...you went that far to pick him up and went through so much stress. You deserve the fee.

Someone once scolded another driver for deciding to drive to pickup point cos of cancellation fee cos rider refused to cancel. I hope you were not the 'scolder'.

u didn’t do bad at all. Last week Sunday, I got to riders pick up. Called rider his/her phone was off. I didn’t want my taxify bonus to spoil so I started d trip to get one point. Behold it’s a card trip. I drove for some km till it get to 1k and I ended it. Up till now rider didn’t call me. Nxt time he won’t play with d app.

I used that trick few times months ago, though with riders' approvals and they were cash trips obviously.

Please guys. Any idea on how to beat this taxify fix rate cos a lady had like two stops today. though I told her I won’t do any stop on taxify except on Uber. but this lady has nice manners. She begged me and I did. The amount got to d fix rate and refuse to move again till we got to destination. Please guys any idea or strategy so we won’t loose too much. I don’t do stop again on taxify but some nice riders will beg and u don’t have choice. I always tell them to do Uber any time they want to do any stop-by.

I picked up my rider, Mr. Emeka in a hotel at #226A Muri Okuola street in Victoria Island. He said he was going to Eko hotel.
I started the trip and drove through Adegun Ajose. He ordered me to stop by Chicken Republic so he'd pick up something to eat. I pulled over and waited for him.

He was in there for about 12 minutes. while he was there I got another request, the next rider called and asked me when I'd get to him. I told him I was on a ride but I'd reach him in about ten minutes, that was the ETA according to the map.
I called my current rider to tell him I was still waiting.

He said I should hold on, that it's his money and he could keep me however long he wanted. He dropped the call.

I waited for about another seven minutes before he came out. After he got in back into the car, he asked me why I called to hurry him up, that his money was running and he could keep me for however long he wished.
I nicely replied that and said ' Sir that's not really how it works, and that I had another request and the rider who's waiting for me just after his trip"

He flared up and said who am I to tell him how things work in Lagos. That if I talk again he'd keep me there for the rest of the day.

He sounded really frightening so I told him to kindly request another ride, that I wasn't going to continue with the trip anymore. He said am I mad? I must take him to his destination otherwise he'd beat me up and no one can do anything about it.

I reversed back into chicken Republic and stepped out of the car, leaving him inside alone. He sat inside, opened his side of the door and relaxed.

I went to the security guy at Chicken Republic to report the situation and
to ask if they had of any Police officer around. While I was making my report to the security guard, He stormed into the eatery hall to drag me back into the car. I resisted and tried to run into he bathroom. He is huge and was throwing punches at me.

After about 5 minutes, I ended the trip and told him to just leave me alone and go. Onlookers told him to go that the trip was over and since didnt want to go, he should get another ride.


Hoping we were done, I stepped outside to get to my car, he grabbed me and hit me on my back, near my neck region, it affected my left spine. While this was going on, a lady was taking a video of what was going on. He went on to harass the lady. I tried to get into my car, he wouldn't let me. He threatened to kill me. All these while the other rider was waiting. I had to quickly escape to Adeogun Ajose roundabout to get a police officer. I locked my car and ran off since he didn't let me into my car. He said he'd keep me there for the rest of the day. When I got back wirh an Officer, he pushed down my car window and opened the lock. Got his stuff and made away with his food and my fuel money.
The police officer said he's likely a kidnapper. The other rider cancelled his waiting trip. While I was thinking of what to do next, I got another request heading to my home. so accepted it and I just got to my last riders destination, that was why I filed in this report pretty late. I am deeply hurt, emotionally and internally.

My spine hurts.
My wife called and started crying when she heard the whole chaos.

I want use am for rental.. Rental is now 15k weekly.. And you know that most of the people that use the elantra are on uber .. So the price of the elantra has to match with the currant situation on ground.. Look at the corolla now, it is so expensive now due to uber ... and second hand value is trash now. Coz most corolla now have abused and dump for naija used market.. So 500k for the 08 Elantra is very ok ,at least I can recoup my money fast ... please he stated that anyone using elantra for uber,, the rental should be like 15k or something.. So it means the elantra has no more value both for uber and private use ..

Dru you are back with saying same thing over & over. You're only making the man more popular. Leave him alone, 15k rentals is just his opinion & saying the worst possible senerio with humour. Personally, I don't see rental falling below 23k or averagely below 30k (meaning it will be between 23k - 35k). Owners would rather they sell the car, use it for other transport biz (including airport taxi self), or for personal use.

Everybody knows rental is between 30k-35k... At least 95% of good cars goes with this price.

If there is a car for 27500/25000 is either A problematic car or car that consume more fuel.

Anybody that change engine oil and oil filter in ur shop and pay you 3k that you normally collect is stupid. Other mechanics do it for 500/1000naira.

Anything underneath 1000/1500.

Smart people that truly wants to make money in Uber business will not use ur service. Because all the rental money, u will indirectly take it back.

I can mention how many investors u have successfully frustrate out of this business.

I haven't even use baba's service before but I have learnt from his wealth of experience as shared here on this platform.

Most of the attacks here (and NL generally) on his personality are unjust and uncalled for. Every business person has to right to decline an offer, so if he said he his not gonna repair your car and next thing you do is come here to complain that he his rude for refusing to work on your car or you come to tarnish his image because you can't afford his services is unjust.
