I STAND TO BE CORRECTED!!! I think you should STOP disclosing your movements with anyone including your family. Yes, I said your family which include your mum, dad, siblings. Also, your pastor. Change your church if you can. Next time there is an interview, go without telling anyone. 1 Like |

Tell the landlord the general response of Nigerians which is: Na God do am. Yoruba interpretation is: Olorun lo se o. Ire a Kari o! Then tell your friend to buy two can malt and give it to the landlord. After that anything the landlord does, just ignore him.

Sometimes, I mean sometimes, I don't start what I can't finish to prevent unnecessary disagreement. For example, there is this woman beside my shop, she's an older woman. When she packed into the shop, whenever she approaches the shop in the morning, I'll run towards her and collect her bag. This went on for a while until one day. Rain was drizzling lightly and she was coming. Because of this rain, I didn't go to collect her bag. I greeted her but if you see the way she responded and the look of disdain in her eyes, I felt bad. Since then, I evaluate whatever I want to do very well to prevent wahala. My advice, stop being a people pleaser. Do whatever is convenient for you 4 Likes 1 Share |

If your mum is capable of standing up for the family, leave it to her. Just be there to and advise her. Be very careful so you don't draw unnecessary enemies for yourself. Yoruba will say that: ogbon la fin gbaye.

First impression matters a lot. Most people here believe sending a private message (pm) to them means you want to beg for something or ask them out. Lemme start by saying anyone receiving a pm on nairaland will get the message like this: wrote: Hello ABC, XYZ would like to send you an email message, but since you're not connected, you'll need to XYZ by replying this email. Please watch how to reply to pm. I wanted to strike a business deal with someone here and after sending my message. The person replied with 'OKAY' I felt like even if I want to ask for assistance, you shouldn't be rude. For some people, their own response are: Yes, I'm listening Go on and hosts of other annoying responses. Personally, I believe the best response should be Hello! How may I help you or Hello! Imagine someone needing assistance concerning an interview or any other urgent information. After viewing the thread and seeing a nairalander with meaningful contribution, he may decide to send a pm to the person for further enlightenment. The person will be very optimistic about hearing from the person. Unfortunately, the interview day may come and go without hearing from the person. After like a month, the nairalander decides to reply the person with, "Yes, I'm listening" How will you feel? The best the nairalander can do is to first apologize and ask if it's not too late to answer his questions. Nairalanders, this may be a faceless forum but you can meet your destiny helper here. I love you all |

I stand to be corrected though. It could be because of 1. Weight 2. Body/Mouth odour 3. I'm sorry to say this but maybe you are the kind of person who doesn't like corrections cos you believe you are always right. Hence, all corrections usually lead to arguments. 4. Maybe you carry religion for head Jesus and do not really submit to your husband 5. Jazz 4 Likes 1 Share |

@ OP Sometimes, drunkenness comes lack of achievements and fulfilments. Most people that drink do so to drown their sorrows. Get close to your dad and discuss. The discussion will be to sincerely appreciate for all his sacrifices towards the family from infancy till date. Father's receive little to no appreciation in comparison to mothers who receive all the accolades. Tell your mother and siblings to start appreciating him. Tell him you love him. Become his talk buddy, early in the morning, @ night. Call him and ask about him. He deserves it. Gist with him. Even with your financial constraints, when you go out, buy him fast foods, sometimes buy him wine albeit cheap, Take him out to viewing center to watch football, buy him T-Shirt & jeans with sneaker just anything to make him have a feel of belonging. All I'm saying is show him LOVE. After that, he will change with prayers. 1 Like |

I'm so happy for you. I'm always irritated by the various means of verification that the people in need are subjected to. At the end of this verification, most times the verifiers do not contribute a dime. A case of the empty vessel makes the loudest noise. But I'm really glad that you are favoured. May God multiply the money and increase you exponentially. Amen. Stay blessed. To all the interrogators with nothing to offer, Ntorrr! To all the genuine helpers, May God bless you. Christians let's draw others to God. We should not be drawn to enchantments and magic. In a Bible school, the scholars were asked this question: Which is fastest between praying to God or visiting a witchdoctor? Surprisingly, majority chose visiting the witchdoctor. So, where is the God that parted the red sea, took money from the fish's mouth, turned water to wine and performed other miraculous feats? The Answer: That God, the same yesterday, today and forevermore, is still alive. Here is a true life story that happened in Nigeria. A man worked in a company as an ant. Because of his honesty, he made many enemies because he refused to bow to pressures from his colleagues to partake in fraudulent activities. One day, his colleagues set him up and hid the key to the company's safe. They threw it into a flowing river. Since the safe is in the custody of the ant, he was held responsible. The company gave him an ultimatum of a week to recover the key or else, he would be charged to court and convicted. He was in a dilemma. He did everything humanly possible but all his efforts ended in futility. He decided to embark on 3-days fasting and prayer to seek the mind of God concerning the matter. On the 3rd day which also coincides with the last day of ultimatum, he asked his wife to prepare fresh fish soup for him. The wife went to the market and purchased all the ingredients needed for the soup. While trying to cut the fish in the kitchen, she experienced difficulties. She called her husband and after several unsuccessful attempts at cutting the fish laterally, he decided to cut the fish anyhow. That was when the miracle occurred. It was the key to the safe that was causing blockage. His colleagues were already awaiting his disgrace and prosecution to court. But the miracle-worker, the way-maker, the destiny-changer came to his rescue and turned things around for him. To say his colleagues were surprised is an understatement. They knew what they did but couldn't approach him to ask how he did it. When they couldn't keep it to themselves, they came to ask him of the kind of God he is serving!!! MORE TO COME Hallelujah!!! Let's share testimonies of God's miraculous feat in our life!!! 2 Likes |
