Bro, you're right. My profile is very very weak. I need to up my game now. I will try to gather all the other parts of my application, which are GRE, Even if is one publication, stronger SOP, if I have the funds I evaluate my transcript, then apply strategic; strategic I mean is, applying to schools in a region not to known, and also making sure I run away from those hat waive Application fee.

Honestly, I would love to someone who will guide me. Currently, I have convinced myself to accept the fate that us most likely I won't be getting any offer this fall anymore.

I'm more curious on what to do to improve my application and give it a shot again the next fall 2024.

Calm down first!! ission rejection is not the end of the world. Just be calm first. Maybe you should talk to someone to guide you. Phd is not as easy as you think and it's quiet competitive.

My only reason for applying to a Ph.D. instead of going for a master's first is based on the funding. Most masters do not find their students, many are partial funding, meanwhile, just very few may be fully funded.

Traveling without enough funding it's not worth it unless you have the finance, otherwise, it will be very difficult to survive.

I can't accept any offer if it's not fully funded, provided that I didn't come from a rich family. I have three more schools for Ph.D. and just one for Masters. But the master's is not my line of study. I'm am a Biochemist and the school It's environmental and earth science, but if accepted, it's fully funded. I'm just confused.

I've been denied again! This is my second denial, one from Colorado State University, and the second one this early morning from the University of Utah. All Ph.D. programs, bioscience.

I lost interest in everything now. I am about to lose hope regarding the remaining applications. It's like my dream is about to be shattered,! I don't have masters, no GRE, no publication, no presentation.

Please room, what do I do? I just applied to only one school for masters, mean while the rest are Ph.D.

I don't understand, funding for what? Is it for application fee waiver or ission? Please give me guidelines.

Just a subtle reminder that February is around the corner, virtual grad fair invites will be sent by graduate school make sure you attend these meetings because sometimes, these may be interviews and that's how they decide if they will be give you funding or not.

I completely understand.

I just saw your post suggesting you applied to one of the biological science PhDs. You have to understand that they are very very competitive. If you check grad cafe, the minimum schools most Americans in bio sciences apply to is like 12+.

If you don’t have a masters degree already, I’d suggest you switch to something different but related (Maybe environmental science with a focus on biological research?). If you read Biochemistry, it’s better to focus on Chemistry or Chemical Engineering PhDs.

Do you know the worst part? I think I made a mistake in my statement of purpose. I forgot to include the name of my potential supervisor. My SOP to that particular school looks generic I guess. But thank God they ed me earlier, otherwise I may still be hoping, and won't have had the opportunity to work on my new schools

I think, one of their requirements is to get a letter from a potential supervisor in your chosen department before applying.

In the application, you will attach the letter there as proof of Advisor for your program.

Yes bro, you're right. I'm currently submitting application to two more schools right now. You know this application stuff get one kind spirit. Once you've applied to the ones you want to apply, you get lazy afterwards to apply for more. You will be like I must get one of them.

Yesterday I was scammed here, though themoney wasn't much, but atleast base on d current situation of Nigeria, that money na confam lajan for chop...

I was following a thread like that when I saw an advert of pay money and get data at a cheaper rate, mehn, at first I wasn't interested, later I decided to give it a try given that most men now dey scam each other to survive, I had that in mind yet I wanted to clear my doubt to know if we still have reliable Nigerians... Unfutunatly I wasn't dissapointed...

Had to collect this guy's number and chat him up, his responses were really bussiness minded, though I mostly used voice note...

In one of the voice note, I told him that if he could be reliable and honest with me I will do bussiness with him cos I do have lots of people who uses lots of data, I opt for the 4.5gb which he said is 1100naira, in d voice note I told him that I would be sending him 1200 naira just because I wanted to win his heart, but I was being foolish!!.... After sending the money to the guy, he confirmed it afterwards he started ignoring me, right now he had blocked me.....

Lol, mu question is that why tgis pety pety scamming, if really he wanna scam, why not scam for better Monet than this small small change.. Nawaoooo I just dey laugh self, cos theseare one of those that makes it difficult for most legit hustlers, like all this IT guys from getting good deals from out shore o f Nigeria!!
