Hi guys, it’s the 25th of December!

Let me introduce you to the man you are all celebrating today, his name is NIMROD!

Did Christ ask us to celebrate his birthday? NO! Did the Disciples or Apostles ask us to celebrate his birthday? NO! Did the Bible or Torah instruct us to celebrate his birthday? NO!

A woman has become an internet hero after dumping her boyfriend at her 21st birthday party.

Tiana Perea of Houston took to her Twitter to post a video of the exact moment she kicked her boyfriend to the curb, adding the caption, “

Is this the right thing to do when your bf cheats on you?”

The video shows Perea surrounded by her friends in a kitchen before silencing them all with her epic speech in which she accuses her boyfriend of cheating.

I’d like to thank Santos for making me realize I deserve so much better,” she says, looking at her boyfriend, who seems to have no clue that he’s about to be dumped.

“All of us have seen screenshots … you were sexting her and sending her videos,” she continues. “You literally sent her the same picture you sent me today.”

As her friends cheer her on in the background, Perea then waves Santos off with one final sentiment.

“In case you didn’t figure it out, we’re over and you can get the f*** out,” she snaps.

Perea has become an internet sensation since posting the video, with many praising her for standing up for herself.

Africa has the potential and talents to rule the world but such positive traits and attributes have been underestimated, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, has stated.

According to him, some changes were required in order to make an impact from the great talents of Africans.

Osinbajo stated these on Saturday night during the commissioning of a multi-billion naira five-star Wells Carlton Hotel and Luxury Apartments in Asokoro area of Abuja built by a former pilot, Captain Idahosa Wells Okunbo.

At the event, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, said the National Assembly had ed many bills to ease the process of doing business in Nigeria.

The Speaker commended the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship of Nigerian businessmen, which distinguished leaders from followers, saying it had been encouraging.

Dogara said, “In this country, most of the times, we run to take from the table without creating values to get something from the table. A nation without innovation cannot go deep. In the National Assembly, we have done everything possible to ensure that we have an enabling environment for businesses to thrive in this country.

“The Federal Government set up a Committee on Ease of Doing Business and made leaders of NASS of the committee. I can tell you that there are occasions within a week that we churn out laws that would take legislative conventions to make. But we make them within a week, suspending all rules, in order to ensure that we provide the necessary framework for businesses to thrive.

“As it is now, Nigeria has moved forward in the global index on the ease of doing business. That was brought about by the collaboration between the executive and the legislature.”

The VP commended the edifice, describing it as an innovative venture but regretted that Nigeria does not have a home-grown luxury brand.

He said, “It is not just a hotel, it is a Nigerian hotel, a home-grown hotel. We have many home-grown hotels but what we do not have is a home-grown luxury brand. He (Captain Okunbo) is making it possible for us to have our own Hilton and Sheraton. I am really glad that we have such an innovative thing here.

“I want to say that one of the things that happen to us as a continent is that we very frequently underestimate our own capacity and talent. I haven’t been inside the hotel but I have seen the Green House that the Captain was talking about and just as he said, some change is required in order to make an effect from this great talent of ours. I think one of the important changes Captain did was to sell his aircraft; that is very important indeed.”

The chairman of Wells Carlton Hotel and Luxury Apartments, Okunbo said he resigned as a pilot and took a business risk to contribute his quota to the economic growth.

He said, “Some of you might wonder why I am celebrating this hotel, I am celebrating nine years of a dream. I bought this land in 1998 for N10m and started building in 2009; that is almost ten years. It is not that I couldn’t have rushed it with bank loans and all that. But this edifice I am delivering, I don’t owe any bank. This brand stands for my character of tenacity, perfection, integrity and excellence.

“Billions of Naira have gone into the creation of this one of a kind facility that stands today and it is in line with this istration’s economic policies. This investment is going to make a profound contribution to the economy of the nation. In the area of job creation and employment opportunities, the facility presently employs over 300 people directly and hundreds more indirectly. In the coming years, the number will grow exponentially.

“It is my hope that through what we have created today, I can in my own modest way, contribute to our national development like I have done with the Wells Green House, which is the biggest Green House in Nigeria and presently has eight hectares, fully covered and another eight hectares in the building. So, we have about 16-17 hectares of covered Green House, producing 4,200 tonnes of various vegetables that meet international standards.”

The National Assembly leadership has said it is making frantic efforts to avert the proposed industrial action by workers under the umbrella of Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), which is likely to affect the 2019 budget presentation by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday.

In a telephone chat on what the National Assembly is doing to avert the proposed strike, the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Hon Abdulrazak Namdas, said efforts are already ongoing to prevent the planned strike scheduled today.

“We will appeal to them. We have started reaching out to them. At least every one of them knows that we are following up their matter. We laid their report in the House. It was considered; we invited the Minister of Finance to see why money was not released to pay them their increment and the report is to be presented at the plenary on Tuesday.

“So, if you block us from entering on Tuesday, how do we solve the problem? So, we will consult with them?” He queried.

Namdas added that the lawmakers have been intervening in the matter and are still committed to following through, regretting that should the strike go as planned; it will only complicate the matter.

“What we are appealing for now is for the workers to continue to be very understanding. The budget is to be presented by Wednesday; we all know the possible implication on the entirety of Nigerians, if the document is not presented on that day.

“Our appeal is that since we are still very much on the issue and engaging the critical stakeholders. The workers should reconsider their stand and let the engagement continue for a quick resolution,” he appealed.

However, PASAN chairman, Bature said that the strike action will go on as proposed, saying no member of the National Assembly leadership had called to prevail on them not to proceed on the strike.

“I have not been ed by anybody as far as the leadership is concerned, so the strike will still continue tomorrow (today) as planned.”

But he assured that unlike the December 4 picketing where they prevented lawmakers from accessing the legislative chambers, the lawmakers will have access to the chambers.

He added that workers have already been mobilised to stay off duty between December 17 and 20.

On whether or not the strike would affect the proposed presentation of the 2019 budget, Bature noted that “It is the of PASAN who are not working. Our will not be around to work. They will not work for the legislators and they will not work for the management, and legislators can come. And I am sure the president is not coming to lay the budget before staff, he is coming to lay the budget before the legislators”.

“It may partly affect budget presentation because some of our workers who carry the maze may not be readily available to do that and if that happens, that may impact their sitting arrangements.

“Sitting will be illegitimate as far as we are concerned; so invariably it will affect their activities definitely. Unless if those staff that are the Sergeants-at-Arm want to come,” he said.

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to resign for itting on Friday that the nation’s economy was in bad shape.

Buhari reportedly made the confession during his meeting with the 36 governors at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Friday.

In a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Communication, Mr Phrank Shaibu, on Sunday, Atiku said the President’s confession that the economy was in bad shape was not only a ploy to attract the sympathy of Nigerians but also aimed at getting a soft landing.

He said, “The result, of course, is his confession of failure on the eve of our general elections in the hope that millions of Nigerians, whom he has condemned to poverty and hardship, will give him a clap for failing abysmally.

“I dare say that President Buhari has miscalculated badly on this matter because Nigerians are simply fed up with him.

“The economy has collapsed under his watch and he has by this frank remark itted that he has no idea on how to fix it and that is why he summoned the governors to help him.

“This is really very sad because President Buhari has run out of time and what Nigerians need now is leadership which has the political will, istrative experience and sound economic acumen to get Nigeria working again.”

The former Vice-President expressed his disappointment that Buhari had continued to blame the PDP for the country’s bad economy, saying the President had reportedly confirmed that he was incapable of fixing the economy.

Atiku said Buhari should step down from his position since the economy was in bad shape.

He said Buhari’s ission had confirmed the British multinational bank HSBC’s prediction that re-electing him in 2019 could plunge Nigeria into a deeper economic hardship.

Atiku said, “Unless those in charge of the APC and the party’s ers are, as usual, suffering from some form of self-delusion, it just does not make any sense for them to say that the All Progressives Congress’ Federal Government has brought succour to ordinary Nigerians when President Buhari himself has itted to the governors that the economy has gone beyond his control.

“Or do we need a prophet to tell us that the President’s ission is a vindication of our long-held position, and indeed the forecast by HSBC recently cited by the Nigerian media where the bank said a second term for Buhari would greatly affect the economy of the country?”

He added, “The exchange rate of the naira to the US dollar when the APC assumed office in 2015 was about N170 (official rate) to $1. Today it is N360 to $1. Today millions of Nigerians, most of them youths, are unemployed, forcing them to become professional beggars who wait for the FG’s monthly N5,000 handout and N10,000 Tradermoni aimed at bribing them to re-elect the party in the forthcoming elections.

“Power generation has actually dipped from 4,949 megawatts, which the PDP left in 2015 to less than 3,500 megawatts even though Buhari’s managers consistently claim that 7,000 megawatts are what the country is currently generating. What more evidence do we need to know that the APC has been a curse rather than a blessing to our country?”

Atiku lamented that the President had failed to apply new methods in addressing the challenges facing the country.

He said, “Our President is still living in the Paleolithic age of blame game and buck-ing as responsible for his failures.

“What this simply means is that President Buhari was not really prepared for governance and did not even understand the simplest intricacies of running a national economy as big as Nigeria.

“This is really tragic and it is obvious that President Buhari has come to the end of the road and has completely given up on the next steps to advance Nigeria, while those who his dear wife openly declared misled his istration into this economic quagmire are still drumming up for his next level of more hardship, suffering, unprovoked deaths as a result of mis-governance.”

He said the President was tired and should, therefore, be asked to return “to his much cherished sedentary, pastoral and rustic lifestyle in his country home in Daura and then leave the rigours and highly strategic art of governance to those who know how to govern and get the economy working again.”

But the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, said he would not comment on the issue.

Adesina said, “I don’t respond to PDP issues. Whenever it is the PDP, talk to the APC. Journalists should know this.”

When reminded that the question was on Atiku’s call for Buhari to resign for itting that the economy was in bad shape, Adesina said he would not talk.

When one of our correspondents got across to Issa-Onilu, he also directed him (the correspondent) to spokesman for the President Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation, Mr. Festus Keyamo (SAN).

However, calls made to the telephone of Keyamo were not answered.

He also did not respond to a text message sent to him as of the time of filing this report.
