Most Africans are dunces. The Biden in US had hinted 2025 as the time to phase out petrol-powered vehicles in US yet most foolish Nigerians want such person in power. When will African learn how to play politics?
dude, the question on your mind should be, when will Nigeria learn to diversify and take an active interest in science, research and industry? You are asking the wrong type of question.

Best news that can ever happen to Nigeria. I wish more countries will follow suit and ban petrol usage. I bet it will serve as the long awaited wake up call.

There are various positions which other tribes hold sway in.

Taking a snapshot to of positions in which northerners rule is disingenuous.

Also, it is hypocritical to group the north as one when the only thing that merges them together is often religion.

Another thing that must be noted is that they are even more in number than the south.
pls send me a comprehensive list, also to include the religious configuration of the appointment list. The diversity of Nigeria is religious as well as geographical(or tribal). I promise to rest my case afterwards.... thanks

Mr. Senator, let's get serious for once...

You can actually have half of Buhari's cabinet from the East, and the region will largely remain underdeveloped... This is not even up for argument.

How does appointing so many people from a certain region or certain regions better the lives of millions living in those regions??! This is a simple yet hard question for many of you to answer.

The things I expect people like you to be addressing and pushing for are as follows:

1. Complete review and amendment of this national constitution.

2. Forensic and intrinsic look into poor governance in most states of the federation, especially the same East you come from.

3. Addressing the hideous and abnormally high cost of governance across the nation, starting from the excessive take home of all elected and appointed officials including you and your fellow charlatans in the senate.

4. Pushing for laws to hinder or stop travelling abroad for all elected officials and their families at the expense of the nation's almost nonexistent funds.

I know he won't bother with the above cos he is a beneficiary of the pathetic and failed system he so hypocritically tries to critique.

This playing to the gallery of dimwits and clueless citizens has become stale, boring, and redundant... Please, give it a rest!!!
especially the East you say? Is there a particularly poor governance in the east different from the poor governance in the north? Or are you indirectly saying that the north even against all empirical evidence is better governed or possess better leadership?

What of FIFA, NASA and IMF?
before you gloat and celebrate think about it, if these positions were completely reversed to favour another part of the country will you still consider it fair? If the fact you are a Northerner(and possibly Muslim) and this does worry you have you ever thought about the fact that the opposite could be the case.

Fairness is the demand here, we cannot run a country as diverse as Nigeria like this. The appointments are too lopsided. When Obasanjo, Yar Adua and Jonathan were in power they applied more wisdom in their political appointments. I REST MY CASE

Lai Mohammed should simply sit this one out. His role in this should be mostly to advise and to douse tension. His vehement denials only makes him an accessory to murder. His methods constitute a decent majority of the problem. I don't know whether he is not aware of the image problem he has with the public. His tactics are not good at all because he tries to continually force his angle of things on everyone.

We know that it is his job to react to issues surrounding this government, and we also know that it is a thankless job, but he should be more diplomatic. People might not like you but they will learn to respect you. Right now, due to his tendencies, he lacks both love and respect. Sad angry undecided .

Nairaland is being paid for single-handedly by one man. The hosting, the domain, the data to manage the adverts and all are one man's investment. It is not a government pet-project. If he wakes up tomorrow morning and puts chooses to snap his butt and put on the forum, it is entirely up to him. And if we don't like it, we go elsewhere. I hope you get the point.
he started the idea does not also mean that oppression should be part of the project. I respect him and his vision but I will not fail to call him or anyone else out for that matter if they do the wrong thing(s).

Go and start up your own forum
that is how people say that if we are not satisfied with the way the country is run we should leave. The country as well as Nairaland belong to Nigerians one way or the other. We need a country where we can express ourselves without unnecessary hindrances. I was never rude or ridiculous, I simply made use of the word 'protest' to express my dissatisfaction about the way things are going on in the country. You quoting me shows you have dictatorial tendencies.

Today the country is in rubbles economically and our dear government is more interested in seeking out EndSars protesters and ing hate speech bill. Trump lost elections and his ers still came out to protest. Trump makes a lot of controversial statements and yet nobody is talking about hate speech bill or social media control bill, is America and Nigeria not both democratic countries? I REST MY CASE!!

grin democracy is about freedom, the freedom to express should be basic. It is a constitutional right. I also be believe that freedom should not transcend into interfering with the freedom of others but at the same time it should be allowed.

Nairaland is a big DISGRACE,
the other day I posted a comment with the word PROTEST and got banned by the s. It seems the fear of censoring has already infiltrated the minds and entire bodies of Nairaland s and their actions has become that of cowards. As for me I will continue to resist cowardice in all its ramifications.

How can the country become better if we don't stand up to speak and resist evil. How can ability be achieved without dissenting opinions and refined criticisms. Nairaland s you are all living in fools paradise, by the time that useless hate speech bill is ed then you will know the effects and importance of media freedom.

Shame on Nairaland s for playing Buhari's game and that of his stooges.
SHAME! SHAME!! SHAME!!!

Protest is not a crime, it happens everywhere in the WORLD

When the north wants to make a decision concerning the north they all meet and discuss and make a collective decision, there's no way leaders from 19 states would meet the they won't make a decision that Nigeria won't shake.

But if in the south they want to mam a decision only SW would meet or only SS would meet or only SE would meet at the end their decisions won't hold any ground.

The SS is holding a meeting on their own concerning oil thats found in other southern regions, other southern regions should boycott the meeting and any decision they make.

I don't need to lecture you about Norway. I will be wasting my time. Telling you about Statoil and Norsk Hydro and the merger will be time wasting. Norway population is less than 6 million about the size of Orile / Ajegunle in Lagos but Norway made more revenue from Fishing than what Nigeria with estimated population of 200 million makes from oil. , Nigeria through the North also carry the burden of Niger and Chad.

We have no comparism at all with Norway. I chose America because of British our colonial masters.

Nigeria existence is based on Colonial masters Laws and Constitution, that Laws and Constitution are based on Federalism and Regionalism. We are ed together by force by the Colonial masters. We must obey the Constitution handed over to us at Independence.

I used America as an example because of similarities in the Federalism handed over to us by the British.

The British did not make resources in one Region the properties of all Regions when they ed us together by force for their own benefits. The Colonial Masters used Federalism and Regionalism.
Baba your sense cannot be questioned.

de-escalation should have been used. The job of a president is not to siddon look. He should have called for calm. He is president for crying out loud and will remain so till the middle of January next year.
