I did my interview today and I was only able to interview for one class of visa- the B1/B2 visa. Unfortunately I was not approved for the B1/B2 visa, how long do I have to wait before I can schedule my F1 visa appointment?

Your appointments will need to be scheduled on the same day. You may find that you need to reschedule one of your appointments in order to do this. One officer will interview you for both visas. Please tell intake and the interviewing officer that you are applying for both an F1 and a B1/B2 visa.

Thank you @USMissionNGRA, it is actually impossible to schedule for two visa applications at the same time with one or different CGI profiles. So I still have just one appointment date and an approved emergency request. I have no confirmation that the second visa's appointment date will be the same as the first. I guess this is starting to become a headache I will probably try to find extra time off work to go for the second visa interview if this does not pan out.

Thank you so much for all your assistance. If on my appointment date I get to be interviewed for both visas, I will provide here.

I have received a response that my emergency request has been approved and that I can reschedule my appointment. Is it necessary for me reschedule? Or can I stick to the initial date I already selected for my appointment?

On the day of my appointment will I be interviewed by separate Visa officials? If it is the same Visa official would he/she know that I have two appointments on the same day or I will have to mention it before the interview.

I sent an email to [email protected] not too long before I discovered this thread and I just received a response with respect to being interviewed for both visas and I think it is conflicting with the response i received from you.

Try to schedule one appointment at a time for the same date. If that does not work, schedule them for separate dates and then use the "request emergency appointment" feature on the CGI website. You can explain the situation in the space provided. It will be forwarded to the correct office and we can try to take care of it on our end. If you haven't heard back from us in 2-3 working days from the date of your emergency request, please email [email protected]. If your application will need to be in istrative processing for a significant period of time, eg for more than a week, we will probably give it back to your for safekeeping. Please keep in mind that we will need 2-3 working days to print your visa and deliver it to a DHL location within Lagos (and longer for DHLs outside of Lagos).

Thanks again for your reply, the CGI website only allows scheduling for one visa appointment at at time. It seems like the unique identifier for every application is the applicant's port number. Due to the fact that I am applying with the same port, I am unable to proceed in my application to book a second appointment.

Is it okay to schedule for one ( the F1 visa) and use the emergency request as suggested?
If there is an option to a document, should I the evidence of payment for the B1/B2 visa fee?

These are great questions.

1. If there are F1 visa appointments available more than 120 days before your program start date, yes, you can book an appointment for then. However, we cannot issue F1 visas until 120 days or fewer before the program start date, so if the officer intends to issue the visa, he or she will need to put your application in 221g status, or "istrative processing", until the appropriate amount of time has elapsed.

2. Yes, you can add a B1/B2 application to your F1 application. You will need to pay an additional visa application fee and schedule the appointment appropriately. Please ensure you inform our local staff at intake and the American officer that you will be applying for both visas at this time. It is possible that both are issued, both are denied, or that you are issued one while refused the other.

Does this mean that I have to schedule for both one after the other?

Also, when my application is under istrative processing, does my port remain with me for submission after istrative processing?

1. I have received my i20 and filled the ds160 form already. Can I schedule a visa appointment earlier than 120days before my program start date (August 15)? I have work free days next week and and it will be easier for me to have the interview next week.

2. I would like to attend a conference in June about 45 days before my program start date so I am also applying for a b1/b2 visa but my interview date in June. Go to the website, follow the instructions, pay in the bank for it, email the teller of payment with the filled application form, truth is if you really want to get ur transcript on time u have to know someone there, mine took them almost four months for them to type,
they wont send it to ur home address or give it to you, so put the name of an organization u r sure of collecting it from, don't send it to the sch u are applying to also because they make a lot of mistakes records office, they can send the wrong results and the money they charge for overseas courier is simply ridiculous.
