I want to say thank you to that bros that encouraged ppl to apply for civil service jobs. I got AO at dwp last month. A lot of information on this thread has been so useful and wonderful. I appreciate everyone that has made this thread worthwhile. Tech bros and Sis, pls I need your advice. What do you think about being a salesforce .? The goal is to go into salesforce consulting. Sometimes, it feels like most salesforce jobs are more in the US than UK and many of the vacancies in London (lol). I would really appreciate your thoughts. Thank you 14 Likes 2 Shares |

[quote author=Goke7 Thank you for the insight... Would taking apprenticeship roles not be termed as public funds for those of us still new in the country? Please, pardon my ignorance. Ese , I have been seeing large companies like Lloyds bank advertising for entry-level business analyst roles, which they call apprentice Business analyst roles, I have also seen another Large company known as Legal & General d same, so check out things like that and apply. Apprenticeship roles as Business analysts, Data analysts, and others are a good way to go, for 12 or 24 months or so they will train while you work, with this you have solved the UK experience-ish barrier and you can move on from there. Good luck, so target large organisations for apprentice roles. Just to add, salary amount should not be your problem now as this is where our people are missing it. Your priority is to define your career path and integrate fast into the Uk system
1 Like |

Please, I need your input and that of others.I'm asking for a friend as this was not exactly my case. My friend's husband got a job and applied for tier2 visa along side the wife. The husband has resumed work but wifey still in naija with kids. They did not apply with kids cos the kids ports were not ready. It is ready now and she wants to apply for the kids( she has been granted her visa). When she clicked on apply as child, there is confusion of how to fill. There is a column for personal info, partner and dependents details. 1.is the personal info supposed to be the wife who already has her visa( she is trying to apply for her children? Please, I will appreciate clarification on this 2. For accommodation, the Hubby stays in a shared apartment, what should be filled for the kids application? Of course, the Hubby is house hunting already Thanks |

Abubanty: Hey God, That's much o. I'm sending my hugs to her. I pray she receive her good news very soon. |

Abubanty: Exactly; like your life depends on it o. My husband got about 75unfortunate messages but aced his second and third interview, rejected some invites eventually. One thing that I know helped him was a group ppl in his profession formed. He saw two SI samples and he was able to write different ones based on person specification. We did all the applications together so I understand how depressing those unfortunate messages can be. In all, NEVER GIVE UP. |

pretty1986: @Abubanty has captured one of the reasons. Truth is she should continue applying. Read job description and specification to draft her ing info instead of just using one SI. I believe the more she apply, the higher the chance of interview invite. It will end in praise. |
Really?! ![]() All this misinformation is quite startling You could say that the rate of council tax varies by county/location, but all parts of the UK are subject to council tax Someone in Northern Ireland said they don't pay council tax. He is right |

emperorlaqrin: I think rent is cheaper up North of England. Meanwhile, a lot of people just see England as the whole of UK. Northern Ireland is a cool place from my research, cheaper cost of living and of course will have its own challenges. My 2cents 13 Likes |

Pls I need clarity and I will appreciate help that comes from you people. 1. While filling visa application, is it a must to travel on that travel date I fill? 2. MA has applied for visa and ticked 'spouse will not be traveling with me to the UK' simply because the spouse port was not ready when it was filled. Spouse now has his port. He wants to apply for visa today with the hope they travel together. Considering what MA filled as ' No', will this affect his application if he ticks he is traveling with MA?. Thank you |

Cleo18: Depending on the job. For example, I think nurses are supposed to have a certain grade in IELTS (not so sure) if your job does not require it,you can write IELTS while applying for jobs. My husband did not write IELTS but used Ecctis. |
![]() |
tummy009: No, you don't need that. My response was to the moniker who wants to apply for Ecctis. When applying for visa, you need proof of English. IELT/ OTE/ Ecctis depending on circumstances. I hope I answered your question. 1 Like |
Agent of discouragement, if you don't have anything reasonable to tell him or her, why not move on, than coming here to write rubbish. you that's tired of Uk, when are you coming back? since those who are there are looking for a way to come back home. nonsense. @vanod, if you know that moniker(Lagosismyhome),you won't say this. Besides, she did not discourage OP. It is better we all learn to manage our expectations. The truth is a lot of agents are selling COS. However, people should not give up applying. 2 Likes |
