Hey Deevick!! yeah man I see the good work your keeping up with right here. You deserve three thumbs up and a 5 star rating lol!! Oh well, I've been good and yeah I know I went awol and should be crucified for it lol but then it's been real hectic tryna keep up with the academic pace. I've been taking classes like all year round and even during breaks when I should be giving myself some time off, I literally have no life my broda! Anyways as for YIM, I'm still on it just that I see no reason to sign in lately but if you wanna have a convo any of these days just lemme know and I could breeze in and drop some lines with you. All the best man!

Naggy Baba, I can understand your stance jare. its necessary as life is in phases while men are in sizes. But I can tell you are on top of the situation.

On the YIM matter, it would be good to have a word or two with you my man. However I can't your YIM id anymore. I have checked through my list and I can't identify it. Though I am certain it should be in there. Here is mine deevick246. Please get on and Buzz me or check me up. So I can be sure we are together overthere. Onelove.

@house,check this out too, VO:what r your plans after studies(bachelors)? ME:after studies,i'll come back 4 my compulsory NYSC;after that,i'll apply 4 masters in US,to professionalise my course of study, after which i'll come back to NIG,get a very good job,and contribute to d development of my country. What u guys think. Abeg fast o. Its 2morrow,i need to do a little mock interview with u guys.

Your response †o the question is on point. However, ensure you keep your answers short, straight and direct. So you can shorten it as : After studies,i'll come back 4 my compulsory NYSC. Please say the meaning of NYSC. You can leave it this way and wait for further questions from the V0 or you can say it as you stated it here. Best of Luck man.

Helloooooooooooo NL!!!! Been like forever since I last checked in here. Happy New Year to you all and wishing everyone planning on coming here success in their respective interview. I just wanna reiterate a few things that drew my attention. YES, the embassy verifies bank statements they feel somewhat suspicious about. This ain't hearsay, I've actually witnessed this first hand. However this rarely occurs so I would encourage everyone to try as much as they can to present genuine documents. If you are missing something, there are two things involved - pray to God and commit the rest to him (I strongly believe in that) or better explain your reason/case to the consular officer. the possible outcome if your eventually caught far outweighs whatever amount it is that you paid to have the phony document procured. Finally, if you have a goal and aspiration please come to the US, there are many resources available to bring out the best and awake that giant in you. By no means should that be interpreted as an automatic financial breakthrough cos then it's plain myths and fantasy. If you have adequate from your family and you are an excellent student, trust me your stay here will be very rewarding. Anyways, I see loads of new names here that I'm not familiar with anymore aside deevick246, djunit1, imperiouxx and that's about it! Where are the old ?? Hmm I guess I've missed out a lot here, Peace!

Naggy baba, you get mouth oboma. Lol. It been a while indeed, we are still here representing, because NL has come to stay. How is everything? Why is it that u hardly get on YM this days? Take care.

Talking more about the concept of well reasoned that you previously wrote, deevick246, I think I should say more.

1) Firstly, if cleverdude follows in your footstep, it is a guarantee that he might probably be denied. I hope the guy with interview tomorrow is able to see that the following quote is meaningless in the English language: Do you except with such a response his visa will be issued?

2) A well reasoned individual should know that there is no way that a US-bound Nigerian student can prove that they are 100% genuine student. They can only show that they are real students. They do this by speaking and writing in correct English and keeping their answers very simple and related to the questions asked.

@ Aroy1

Thanks for pointing out incomplete sentence error or wrong word error in my post. ''Do you expect with such a response his visa will be issued?'' It should have been stated as ''Do you THINK with such a response he will get a visa?" How about that?

Please get this straight and I think everyone should know this, we are not here to pick on eachother but to rather proffer solution to the challenges of getting the F1 Visa. Peace.

@ cleverdude,

You have heard from Aroy1 and myself, I feel you are not bound by any of our suggestion but you are to choose the one you feel is well reasoned and that sounds logical.

I also want to put this open to other of the house. Please let's suggest the best possible answer to cleverdude's question.

@house,what if d consular asks: VO:why were u denied last time? ME:i wasn't able to present my case very well as per reason why i chose my course, but nw i'm prepared(n really,i'm really prepared 4 it). What do u guys think?

@ cleverdude

This your reason for previous refusal is on point. All you need do is just to say it convincedly and confidently.

aroy1:

cleverdude Maybe you should say you do not know why you were denied; the guy who interviewed you that that day could best answer that.

@ Aroy1

Do you except with such a response his visa will be issued To me that response of yours sounds not well reasoned, and its also capable of showing to the VO that the person in question is not a genuine student. Because seriously he ought to know why he was refused the visa, however in a clumsy situation his best bet is the answer he gave up there.

justwise:

That bolded comment is nonsense and i mean it, only you know the rational behind that. I hardly comment on US visa issues if you check very well, i only read and delete fraudulent posts/thread.

The argument here is about whether the embassy has the right to an applicant's bank balance which we all agreed that they do if there is need for it. So where is your rambling coming from?

I know you are the or one of the s of the Travel Section. On this premise, I know you have got powers to do and undo. I personally respect you and your works here of going after vicious criminals who come here to exploit innocent people. I just feel attimes you tend to over stress some issues.

Please, I am not saying all this to put up issues with you. Peace.
deevick246(m): 12:13pm On Jan 13, 2012
justwise:

Can you point out any misleading info i have given to anybody here?

@ justwise

Do u know my problem with your comments/posts on visa related matters on NL? is that you often portray yourself as the Consular General/ VO in most cases. For goodness sake you are not. That been said, I even feel you are more grounded in UK visa procedure than the USA visa, and I must state it clear here that both countries visa procedure / issuance / application is not the same.
We are all here to help eachother in achieving the visa collection goal and not to make a mess of peoples intentions.

On the issue of whether the embassy do confirm the genuinety of the documents submitted. This is Nigeria, we are easily influenced by money. Take for instance if the embassy approach a Banker and say we want to employ you as our secret confirmation/ verification agent, all you need do for us is to confirm Bank s and nothing more. For this job we would pay you generously, say like 500$ per month, do u think the banker would differ? Because someone I sometimes came across who submitted a non existing Bank to the Embassy and the VO said to him,''We (embassy) have got power, we know how things work here, I called your Bank to confirm your three times and I was told its forged'' Let's state it clear, its unethical for any Bank to disclose a customer's information to a third party but this is Nigeria anything can happen.

I need to say this to your face, you are a captious individual. Please stop throwing yourself around this thread as if you are a saint. This is said not to start a quarrel with you, because everyone here knows you are good at that, but it is rather in order for you to consider your actions here. Peace.

The subsidy should remain. Please can somebody tell me why our government is so insensitive to the needs of the electorates? Why can't this government just focus on building more refineries and maintaining them than talking about the removal of fuel subsidies?
I love how Femi Falana addressed the issues, he displayed doggedness and commitment to the messes than pallying with the powers that be.
This country is so blessed with all it takes to be a front liner among the nations of the world but our greatest undoing is leadership. When are we going to have credible and selfless leaders?

Please can any one tell me Questions that can Possibly be asked when you get to the Us Embassy trying to get a Student Visa, thanks

My friend no one will tell you that, because all you need is in here. What you need do is to work hard on this thread by scrolling to the previous pages to study what the people who got and who didn't get their visa went through. For goodness sake that's the reason why this thread was created and not for people looking for already baked cake.

tranceD, was it scanned copy or the real copy you went along with? Well, my graduate coordinator sent the letter since Oct 20 and not yet here, i guess he made mistake on the address. I asked from the graduate school and they mailed theirs on Nov 22 and just some mintues after my post up there, I got a call from my mail runner saying I'm having a new letter from the graduate school. Hulla! faster than I could ever expected.

Dude, are you saying the mail that was sent out on the 22nd Nov, 2011 is here in Nigeria on the 1st Dec,2011. If that's the case, I can only say you are lucky man. May the good works you have contributed here speak for you on the day of your interview. it is well with you man.

House, is changing location after being denied an outright denial in the new consulate? To be more precise, if a person was denied in lagos but couldn't get a date in lagos until way after the school's resumption date but got a date in Abuja that's before the school's resumption, is that a red flag? And what reason can be given to the consular for changing location? Is the fact that the lagos consulate didn't have available dates before the person's resumption unlike Abuja enough reason?

That's a enough good reason and also the place of choice for interview is yours to decide.if you are able to secure a date for interview in Abuja shoot at it.

@Kay-Dee and imperiouxx

Thanks for your prompt contribution. Besides parents/uncles/aunts, what other categories of people are acceptable as sponsors? Can I use someone who's not so related? Like my Pastor, or a family friend or even a close friend who owns a big IT firm? Sorry if I'm asking too many questions, am in dire straits and don't have time on my side.

Yes, anyone who is not directly related to you can stand as your sponsor. There is provision for such and such persons are usually referred to as philanthropist. But the onus lies on you to state to the VO, when asked what benefit(s) the philanthropist stand to benefit in sponsoring your education (millions of naira).
