In your case, I will advice you to involve the law court (rent tribunal) and they will come and break the door,take inventory of every property in the house from bed to spoons, move them to the court and keep them there. Then you will be able to rent your house to another person and incase the tenant suddenly shows up, he would be told to go to the court to claim his property back and you as the landlord will have no case to answer.
