My salary was my chop money, I wasn't saving. What changed everything was when a teacher that spent 12years there was sacked because 1 of his 4 children was attending another school. Note it was compulsory for all the children to attend the school and you will pay full school fees for all of them. What was his salary then? 23k. The man left 2 months later we heard that he has gotten another job in uniben. Thank God for his mercy. Just One deal I make more than my salary for months.

Hmmmm.... I my days as a teacher in one private school in benin in 2013-2015. Teachers who have spent close to 12-14 years there then were earning 32-36k as salary nothing attached.

The principal earns 40k (nothing attached and he still pays school fees for his 2 children in the school from the salary)and he is one of the oldest dude in the school with over 15years serving the school.

I work in a pharmaceutical company. There is no way a company can employ 1000 staffs and pay them fixed salaries. You will be paid based on percentage of what you sell. Its a contract job, but just try your luck. Lol.

The Nigerian society of engineers should have lobby the law makers to place pay package standard for engineers just the way it is in the medical and pharmaceutical profession.

Pharmacist council made sure that every pharmaceutical shop you open in this country has a pharmacists that must be paid 120k minimum and they have stuck to that till date. You can't own a pharmaceutical shop and not have a pharmacist on ground that s the place even if he is to and go yet he is paid handsomely by the owners.

A friend who is a pharmacist told me that the last year conference they had is even making the wh
whole thing tougher all in a bid to protect the prifession. Same applies to medical doctors, whose association has made it compulsory that you can't just employ a doctor and pay him peanut. Even if he works less than six hours a day.

But the engineering association is shithole no strict laws guiding its profession. All they know is collect levies and tax the graduates. No laws protecting the profession.

So the professions are reaping from what their predesessor had on ground to protect the profession.
