I doubt if the Nigerian authorities have the time to put a law place they protects freelancers that's it they understand what we do to start with. It's easier to tag the youths yahoo boys when they are stealing theirs with pen.

Well, they took all the funds in my card since December last year and ever since I can not use their service but I wrote a mail to them warning them.

If I can get about 50-100 freelancers who are having terrible experiences with them, happy to write this story and have it published in one of the dailies by the end of next month.

The fact that there are no labour laws that protect freelancers does not mean they should be mistreated.

So I have this istrative job that pays me 100k on the island in Lagos. The job doesn't actually afford me any opportunity to grow and I have done a serious introspection of what the future holds and I am not particularly pleased with my analysis.

@OP, you really tried to have decided to make this plunge however I would give you these few advice.
I'm close to 40 but I feel life still holds more for me so reaching or getting to 40 should push you to do some tough stuffs so you dont regret later.
I'm a web software dev but I have realized that the business side of tech is more glamorous if you can climax around there.
take this seriously:
You can either keep doing the work AND use your evenings to read/code. Start with C and more to python and specialize on backend, you can easily port to data analysis with that stack. You may start with freecodecamp.org.

OR

Save 3 months of your salary and resign but ensure that you are going for a stack that can get you a job in 8-10 months. Both tech fields will give you a good start but this 2nd option may be tough prior to getting a job o.

1. Mailchimp is not the only autoresponder you can use, you can use getresponse and there is this cool one called mailmunch (provides a free u can use forever) you can also use.

Set up all the email swipes in the autoresponder. This saves you time.


Look at what the merchant is using to capture attention. You can model his.

Yes from facebook. Facebook is majorly hard cold traffic and you have to do more persuasion to convert them. These days I use warm traffic and that is better for me.



It can be any of landing page, email series, or the headline or wrong targeting. However, fb ads is for advanced marketers and even at that it is 50-50. As i said earlier fb traffic is HARD cold traffic and as u have to be damn good to make lead conversions from your ads and even to sell your products. Try consider cheap and more effective traffic generation strategies than fb.

Q2 is usually the slowest quarter in the publishing cycle so I'm not too surprised. On a positive note, April 2018 I made a total of $2450 so this month's projected income represents a 259% year on year increase.
