It was a happy day for fish farmers in Camp 74
as the Executive Governor of Delta State Dr
Ifeanyi Okowa visit the camp to inspect the very
large fish farm that was destroyed by flood last
week. The Governor after inspection stretch his
hands of fellowship as he render financial
assistance of One Hundred and Fifty thousand
NAIRA to each of the Two Hundred and Thirty
Five fish farmers operating in Camp 75,he
commiserate with owners of the fish farm stating
“I have heard a lot about Camp 74 before now
but, unfortunately my first visit is coming at a
time that you all were involved in a flood disaster,
it is rather unfortunate especially, with the fact
that we are still expecting flood.”
The Governor commended the fish farmers for
their tenacity and zeal for hard work, stating “In
the first instance I must appreciate all of you here
for demonstrating that as young people either
from school, out of school or even from within the
communities that it is possible for a young man
to work hard to fend for himself and that it is
possible to start, small and grow; you have built
a business community and effectively you have
been able to run it on your own in such a manner
that you can claim total ownership of what you
have here, I must say that we are quite impressed
and we must congratulate you because you are a
role model for all other youths”.
He added, “whatever that has happened, I thank
God that seeing you today I can see a lot of zeal
in you, the tenacity in you and the fact that you
are convinced that through fish farming that you
are able to make a living because this kind of
incident, [the flood] can discourage a lot of people
from continuing with the fish farming but going
through the farm, I can see the efforts you are
making in various ponds to salvage the little that
you can.”
“I will use this opportunity to appeal to our
youths that it is possible to work hard and
gradually build yourself to make money and have
your family sustained through hard work, it is an
honest living and because it is an honest living
God will always find a way to bless and sustain
you because most of our youths believe that the
way out is to look for fast money and that is why
we find all kinds of things going on in our society
like kidnapping, armed robbery, and such money
do not lead us anywhere,” he emphasised.
The Governor disclosed that Delta State was
capable of providing fish for local consumption
and for export and called for more persons to be
involved in fish farming saying, “some years ago, I
visited the Ekpan fish farm and I was glad that
we had such a fish farm in that area, today you
have replicated another fish farm here in the state
capital and we are glad about it and we hope and
pray that we are able to groom more youths who
can actually continue to fend for themselves along
the river banks, we have a terrain in Delta State
where we can truly develop aqua-culture and be
known for it throughout Nigeria, we will make all
necessary arrangements to offer , as you
do know our first programme is creation of wealth
and jobs for our people.”
The Chairman of Camp 74 Fish Farmers
Association, Mr Nwanneka Upright who
commended Governor Okowa for the state
government’s prompt response to their plight,
informed the Governor that the flood which
ravaged the fish farm made the farmers to lose
more than N250 million worth of fish disclosing
that they have about 1,000 fish ponds producing
over eighty tonnes of fish monthly.

"Our biggest problem in this country is that we
are a pathologically dishonest people. Today, my
timeline is littered with tweets from suffering
Lagosians who have spent an average of 3 hours
in traffic. Yet, the solution to the problem is
glaring, and not many, certainly not those with
the power to, are attempting to attack this
problem.
What is the problem? Lagos is effectively
Nigeria's only port. Yes we have some others in
name, but I have been to the ports in Warri and
Onne, so I know that the balance of economic
activity in both, combined, compared to Lagos, is
negligible. Calabar is even worse.
How is this the problem? Nigeria, a nation of at
least 120 millions depends on just one entry
point. An entry point that has no functional rail
line leading out of it, and dilapidated roads. An
entry point that has only one real highway out of
it, the E1, which is under maintenance. I am
tempted to say forgive the man in Alausa as
there's not much he can do, but I won't.
Ambode has access to three Senators and five
Reps, who can initiate a review of the Exclusive
Legislative List. Will he do it? No he will not. Why
won't he? Because his backers, do not want any
other part of Nigeria, to compete with Lagos.
They believe that it is Lagos's birthright to be the
premier city in Nigeria. Fair enough such a belief,
but, to the detriment of Nigeria?
This fear of competition, is what killed Nigeria in
the 1960s when we had every chance to grow.
The fear of "Igbo domination" made Nigeria turn
against its most enterprising people at the time,
rather than make efforts to compete with them. A
similar fear is repeating itself. Fear, that Lagos
will become "unimportant", will make the APC
hierarchy not to look at the obvious solution of
opening up the rest of the country. As a result,
the rest of Nigeria, will keep trooping to Lagos,
and Lagos, already being crushed under its own
weight, will eventually die under its own weight.
What happens when Lagos dies? For the
avoidance of doubt, under the current economic
arrangement, Abuja is artificial, Lagos IS Nigeria.
When Lagos dies, Nigeria follows. Simple as
that."

my question is this: if saraki had had the party's (APC) to be the senate president and he still goes ahead to falsely declare his assets as he is being accused now, would this drama between him and the CCT have seen the light of the day?

The Husband cos he failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt before the Law that he didn't kill her in the middle of the night and made it look like she took her own life. He should have left the house atleast for that night.

Don't get me wrong, the Wife may have taken her own life but the husband shouldn't be spending the jail term. He is becos he is the prime suspect
As for the Law which is blind, its still blind

Respect!

Dangerous Silence:
.
.
A man walked into his wife with another man in their bedroom. Instead of shouting or beating both of them, he just looked at them and went back to the sitting room.
He switched on the Television and started watching some gospel videos.
The wife and the boyfriend were in panic. The boyfriend dressed up and came by the sitting room then he said, "Sir am sorry for sleeping
with your wife. She seduced me into it and didn't even tell me she was...".
The husband shut him down politely and replied, "such things happen, you can go..." With that the boyfriend left.
The wife never came out from the bedroom, till it was time to sleep. The husband switched off the Television and went to sleep in the bedroom. He found his wife sitting on the floor crying.
The guy never said anything or even asked her about the episode.. He just got into the same bed, covered himself and slept.
In the morning when he woke up, he found his wife dead. The wife committed suicide in the middle of the night as he was sleeping. He is currently serving a 20 year jail term for murder.
Question is, Who was not fair?
1. The husband?
2. The wife? or
3. The law?
Please tell me...
