Now look at what you want within. You're not dull, you could have failed due to a lot of reasons.

Aside getting ission from any school and possibility of any aid. Do you think you have enough undergraduate knowledge to progress in graduate school. If so and you have the money go for it.

If you don't think so, think about starting undergraduate again to have a better foundation.

It's not the best but we all have different times in life. You're not too old. I know people that started undergraduate at 25 years.

Firstly, are you looking to get another first degree or masters degree? For a masters degree, your course isn't align with the program you intend to study in the US, it is highly unlikely, virtually impossible your gp will get you an ission into any medicine or nursing program in the US and I don't know your financial capability, the tuition and fees for the program, particularly the undergraduate, will discourage you.

As you are still very young, you still have a lot of time to set things right. My advice for you is to pick yourself up, persevere and get a PGD in microbiology here with a good grade, write GRE, then start applying for microbiology masters program in the US. When you get to the US, you can make your dream come to .

Good morning Coldburn - i can relate with you and i have once been in your situation before so i can relate. I also graduated with a 3rd class degree from a public school precisely OOU. Infact, i had the same situation of over 2,000 people in my set, beyond the capacity the school could manage at that time. So what i did then was to start by working with a very small company that pays so little as 25,000 per month and used that as a pedestal to get jobs in bigger companies. Along the line, i went back to apply for another first degree in a private school while working and got a 2:1. The rest is history now.

So this is just to tell you that having a 3rd class degree does not define you in anyway nor determines who you will become. You are 22yrs so you have some time to achieve that which you need to achieve. i dont really know much about the field of Microbiology so in the meantime pending when the gurus in the house responds, try to search for US schools and see their minimum requirement, there are many that wont disqualify you based on your university degree but evaluate you based on other criteria like test scores so if you would need to write the GMAT,make sure you study very hard to have a competitive score enough for the ission officers to overlook your university degree.

Lastly, you can still go for your medicine or nursing, please dont limit yourself by settling for less, just search for schools, see their minimum criteria and work towards it even if it means starting with a postgraduate in the USA (you might also want to check Canadian schools but wont talk much on that since this is a US thread) and with focus and determination, your 3rd class degree will be history, you are the Einstein the world is waiting for.

I studied microbiology in a public university in Nigeria I "finished" last year 2019
I finished secondary school 2015 at 17 gained ission same year,i applied to study microbiology out of the fear of staying home for an extra year i had the mindset that to study medicine of nursing one had to be on the level of Einstein or something , my ion has always been in the health sciences.
So i resumed school 2016 a freshman ready to conquer a "tertiary" institution but got the Shock of my life on the kind of education been provided "my secondary School was quite exclusive or at least we had the necessary requirements for quality education"from overcrowded lecture halls with a single lecturer talking to himself in front" we were over 2000 receiving lectures in a 300 cap Hall ", to general living conditions,
NB I am not trying to make an excuse for my failure after all I had course mates who graduated with good results i know it's all my fault i failed but I had no motivation or interest in going further but I no fit come tell my mum's say I no do again she was so happy when I got in on my first sitting bought me heaven and Earth the day I let for school so I decided to see how it goes and went further.
Now I am a 22yrs old 3rd class graduate, ready to give education another go
I plan to apply to study a medical related course(Nursing or medicine ) in the US
