Reading the comments in this forum is a reminder of a world before the political concept of diplomacy came to be. A world of barbarians before civilization dawned and one can make argument for understanding the states of things back then. Want a wife and kids? You need a willing partner. Nothing you want in life comes from within. Your happiness even comes from other people...lock yourself alone in a room for a month and tell me that you don't need other people (who create the food you will eat and the video games/Internet you will occupy yourself with). Humans don't do so hot in solitary confinement, you need people, and you need them to like you or your life is worthless.

Other people's perception of you is your reality. Those people who everyone thinks less of get less, and eventually get nothing.
