I hope you are all doing well. I’m currently evaluating a startup that has requested my National Identification Number (NIN) as part of their onboarding process. While I understand that some companies may need this for verification purposes, I’m a bit sceptical about sharing such sensitive information, especially since the startup isn’t ed with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

Has anyone else encountered similar situations with startups?
What are your thoughts on sharing sensitive personal information, especially with companies that lack proper registration?
Do you think it's reasonable to expect transparency and security measures in place before providing such data?
