Prince Chidiebere Onu, the owner of Don Maseratte Boutique, Lagos Island, has denied authorizing any of his staff to punish the female sales girl captured being assaulted in a video by some male staff at the boutique

In the video, the sales girl was accused of stealing in the boutique by three male staff who later assaulted her.

Reacting to the video, Chidiebere Onu expressed sadness over the incident adding that he was unaware of the sad event and at no time did he authorize anyone to mete out punishment to any staff in whatever form under no condition as he was far away in the East for an important program at the time it happened.

“I want to categorically state that I was not present during the incident and at no time did I authorize anyone to punish the said girl for whatever reason,and was never aware of it until the viral video was brought to my attention," Omu said.

He apologized to the victim on behalf of his company ' because it is not part of my business ethics and organizational core values.'

He, however, dismissed claims that the victim was stripped saying it was ' aimed at misleading the general public through misrepresentations of facts.

He assured the public that those involved in the act would face justice, pledging full cooperation with law enforcement authorities.

“I assure everyone that the individuals responsible for this act will be identified and held able. We are working closely with the authorities to ensure justice is served," he said

A Non-Governmental Organisation, NGO,
Shelter for Love & Help Foundation has distributed hundreds of clothing items and packs of food to the needy.

The distribution which took place at Ogbete market in Enugu State was in response to the hunger and hardship crisis which is ravaging the country caused by rising inflation.

The outreach program drew a large crowd from all walks of life, with both the young and old gathering to receive their package from the foundation.

Also speaking, a parent, Mrs Chinagorom Wogbo said she was excited that her son attended the institute, being ' the first of its kind in the Southeast."

She said she got to know about the institute on internet, adding that her son's insistence on studying aeronautical made her enroll him at Eastwing aviation.


"We got to know about the school through Internet because my son was bent on doing aeronautical; we need to help him out but before this, he gained ission in Lagos University.


"But because of his age; we didn't want him to far away from us, until we started making researches until we found out that we had great Institute Eastwing Aviation in Enugu.

"I am very satisfied with the school and didn't know that one of this kind of institution is now in the East. Quite the best!," Wogbo noted.

A student, Wisdom Adiele, said, "I feel so special and different being here because the lecturers do their best to ensure the students know everything they should about aircraft.


"I feel excited that today is our matriculation day," Adiele said.

Eastwing Aviation Institute is the first privately owned aviation institute in Nigeria approved by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to it science students that meet the cut off mark of the t ission and Matriculation Board (Jamb).

Commenting on the new song, Chief Imo said he received criticisms from men after he released a song praising mothers.

He added that the new song was not because of criticism but ion to sing about fathers too.

In his words: "The new song is not premised on the critics because I always had it in mind to sing for the fathers too, but I kept the plans on the back burner. In the song , Imo advised mothers to 'also help the fathers because what they are carrying is plenty, so they should work together to achieve a goal. Fathers are the pillars and the mothers are the spice making the home sweet.'

Emphasizing the importance of fathers and mothers working together, Chief Imo noted in the song that 'what is good for the pregnant woman is also good for the man that got her pregnant. '

Ogun govt earns N1billion revenue from rice production, poised to feed the nation

Ogun State government has generated N1billion in revenue within three months in 2024 following the rice revolution embarked on by the state governor, Dapo Abiodun as it's poised to feed the nation.

On Aug 19, the governor announced a significant milestone in rice production in the state as the state government harvested the rice planted in May 2024 at Magboro Rice Farm in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state.

With an impressive yield of 7 MT per hectare on the 200-hectare pilot project, the state produced approximately 1,400 MT of rice, equivalent to 20,000 bags of milled rice.

This achievement brings in an estimated revenue of ₦1 billion every three months to the state ,directly benefiting the out-growers, including many youth and women who are new to farming.

Following the success of the first harvesting, the governor is now scaling up to 2,000 hectares, with plans to expand to 5,000 hectares, projecting ₦10 billion to ₦25 billion in revenue per quarter.

This latest development has brought Ogun State into the league of rice-producing states in the country

The farm under the Ogun State Economic Transformation Project, ed by the World Bank is the brainchild of governor Abiodun aimed at driving economic growth and development in the state.

Speaking at the occasion to mark the harvesting o f th rice, Governor Abiodun said that with the flag-off, Ogun State is not only ing states like Lagos, Kebbi, and Bayelsa in producing locally grown rice for the consumption of the people, but also fostering economic development, creating jobs, and improving livelihoods within the communities.

He said: "This is a 200-hectare rice farm. The farmers are mainly women and youths from all parts of the country and not just from Ogun State alone.

"Each farmer was allocated one hectare of farmland; this means that we have 200 farmers in this cluster. This project started in April this year. They began planting in May, and today we are already harvesting, making it a three-month cycle. It means that we can do this three times a year," he said.

He added: "20,000 bags of milled rice per cycle should be estimated to cost about N1 billion. So, these 200 farmers, made up of women and youths across the country who farm here in just three months, have a revenue of N1 billion. If they do this three times this year, they will earn N3 billion. We have no business being hungry in Nigeria."

Rangers FC just won the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), and in the euphoria of winning will honour late Mr. Ibu in the highly anticipated novelty match.

In a statement made available by the Chairman Central Planning Committee for the burial, Monday Diamond Ani, he noted that the novelty match is a way of honoring the late Mr. Ibu with Rangers being the Nigerian Premier League Champion and the official club of the Enugu State government, adding ‘this is an indication that the Enugu State government appreciates him.’

He added: "Also, special thanks go to the General Manager of Rangers FC, Amobi Ezeaku and Commissioner for Youth and Sports Lloyd Ekweremmadu for their remarkable effort and time invested in the planning of this novelty match.

Diamond further highlighted that the donations for the funeral service from family and friends are still ongoing and the committee appreciates the goodwill of all who wish to honour the late Mr. Ibu even in death.

Contrary to speculation and misinformation from a group of people who have been sponsoring fake news about the burial arrangement for late John Okafor popularly known as Mr. Ibu,

The Central Planning Committee(C),some notable friends and family of the late actor have distanced themselves from such publications on social media sponsored by some evil minds and published by one Mazitundeednut concerning late Mr Ibu's burial with the caption: "Family, friends beg for funds to bury Mr. Ibu"


The Central Planning Committee noted that the said publication was made with intentions to ridicule Okafor's family as beggars by giving out denigrating stories concerning the late actor.

Reacting to the publication, the Chairman of the Committee, Monday Diamond Ani debunked such stories maligning the late Mr Ibu and his family,describing it as ‘manipulating,malicious, fabricated and engineered by the evil gang against Mr. Ibu even while on sick bed and after his death.’

He noted that the Central Planning Committee not minding the several millions of Naira consumed by the late John Okafor's sickness in several hospitals in Nigeria, has made several plans towards Mr Ibu's burial such as erection of billboards across Enugu State, organising a star-studded tribute performance which will hold at the Base Event Center Enugu, novelty match to honor Mr Ibu and other commitments towards making the burial historical.

Speaking further about the development on the burial arrangements, Diamond said: "It is important to note that the night of tribute which is coming up on the 26th of June will be preceded by a novelty match which will be played on the 25th of June between celebrities and personalities against Rangers International football club of Enugu at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.”

He warned the ‘evil-doers, image destroyers of celebrities on social media’ to desist from tarnishing Mr. Ibu's personality to avoid the wrath of God.

“ I want to make it categorically clear that there was never a time when such publication emanated from us. Its the handwork of some miscreants, enemies of progress who must have wished for Mr. Ibu's death and are perhaps happy that Mr. Ibu is no more and wanted to use this medium or avenue to tarnish the name of Mr. Ibu and the Okafor family in general,” he said.

He added: “It is a fact that a fund is being raised to the burial of Mr ibu which is customary in Igbo land where well wishers will be contributing funds to the burial. Some will even bring live cows, provide financial , provide help in logistics and that's what is happening in the case of Mr Ibu, so it is not a taboo.”

However,.someone coming out on social media to say that the Okafor family needs funds to bury Mr. Ibu, is a lie from the pit of hell and should be disregarded. Mr. Ibu was the king of comedy movies in Africa and represented Nigeria as far as motion pictures is concerned and will be buried not like a kid, but as the legend that he was.”

It is important to note that the night of tribute which will be heralded by candlelight procession and an all white dress code will showcase mega performances from gospel artists, musicians, comedians, goodwill speeches from Nollywood legends, personalities, technocrats, captains of industry.

The Anglican Church of The Pentecost, Diocese of Lagos Mainland on Sunday honoured Lady Tina Okafor, two others with Ezinne title.

The amazing mother was honoured in a grand style in the church during Mother's Day Celebration. According to the Chair lady of Mothers Day/Award Committee, Mrs Nkechi Ezenwa: "Lady Tina was given Ezinne title due to the fact that the Women of the Anglican Church of the Pentecost considered her Marriage of 30 years a success.

"The marriage has produced well behaved Children and Grand Children. A true devoted woman of God. She is never tired of rendering her services to God in her Parish, the Archdeaconry, the Diocese and her fellowship (SFI).

Her family is one of the pioneer of the church and till date they are not tired of rendering their Services to God," Ezenwa extolled.

She further stated: "She has been a pillar and a huge both to the younger women and the elderly in the church in the fellowship and in her social work and services. Young women fondly call her Mummy Tee. Again she has been and has remained the only women leader in the parish till date due to her good deeds, kind hearted and love for the women and everyone around her. Little wonder when the opportunity of the Honor of the title of Ezinne came up her nomination was expressly approved by the majority. This didn’t come as a surprise to anyone. We are happy to introduce her to the world as EZINNE on merit."

Talking about her career, Lady Tina is an independent TV Producer and Presenter. She produced and Co-presented a TV talk show on NTA channel 10 Lagos also CEO of CUCIOIC Ltd, an SDG Ambassador on Humanitarian and Social Development. She is an Assistant Superintendent of Police (SUPERNUMERARY) shows her soaring achievements in resume.

The Anambra state born philanthropist is currently a Diocesan Board Member of Lagos Mainland Diocese of the Anglican Communion, Okota Archdeaconry Board Member. She is the Bishop’s nominee at the PCC level and one of the oldest standing of the PCC of The Anglican Church of Pentecost Okota. She is the women leader; a position she occupied since the Inception of the Church over 15 years ago.

Among other recipients were Lady Uche Ndulue, Mrs Elizbeth Uzoma who the award and honour were celebrated by the church

Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie has landed an endorsement deal worth millions of naira with Rowe Oil company for the nationwide promotion of the company's product.

The deal was signed in Enugu at the launching of company's engine oil with top executives of the company in attendance.

Speaking at the unveiling of the product, the Managing Director, 9th Integrated Energy Solutions Limited, Engr. Benjamin Okechukwu said the event was to officially unveil Pete Edochie as the brand ambassador of Rowe Oil Nigeria.

Represented by his Managing Director during the unveiling, the Chairman of 9th Integrated Energy Solution and CEO Rowe Oil Nig, Chukwudi Nnaji well known as Onwa Igwurubeze said the endorsement deal will run for two years and it is renewable.

"We believe the deal is for a lifetime considering Pete’s age and we believe in the entire Africa not only Nigeria even beyond the shores of Africa that he is the most reputable movie star at present and because of the impeccability of his character and integrity. It is a multimillion naira deal because we know his value and the value of the oil and we are glad we did the deal," he said.

He continued: "9th Integrated Energy Solution is the company that brought Rowe Oil into Africa starting from Nigeria. We owned the franchise for the whole of Africa and Rowe Oil is a German Oil. Our product comes with a seal and we have specific distributors who supply the product to the general public, it is not a product you can just find at any outlet.

Commenting on the endorsement deal, Pete Edochie expressed gladness as he was made the brand ambassador of Rowe Oil.

"I have never been associated with any scandal which is why people look for me when they have beautiful products and that is why I am here and glad to be made the brand ambassador of Rowe Oil. There are so many reasons why this product is very unique. Ordinarily, anybody who has used a vehicle for a long time would agree with me that the noise of your car is always the template to check the life of your engine and the life of your engine can only be sustained by the choice of oil with which you lubricate the said engine. We said that Nigerians have come of age and it is about time we got introduced to things that are modern and scientific,"Edochie said.

Edochie added: "A lot of people who have cars use all the motor oils they find available to them; it is not the same thing with this one. You don’t take it off the counter and use it as you like, No. We want to guarantee that if you’re using this oil first, it will prolong the life of your vehicle and simultaneously clean your engine. Make no mistake about it, Rowe oil is expensive but we know that quality comes at a cost. After the expiration of two years and they still want me as a brand ambassador I will sign another deal and make them pay better."

Speaking on the company's product, Okechukwu said: "I would say that presently we have five categories of oil for every car. There is what we call the oil finder in our system whereby when you come to our service center or any of our branches, all you need to tell us is the name of the car, engine, and year and we will provide you with the specific oil for the car. Now, it is absolutely important that you use the right oil for your engine so that you can enjoy the maximum benefit that comes with using the right oil which includes improving your engine efficiency, cooling your engine, cleaning it as well as sieving fuel because when your engine runs smoothly the load on the car is eliminated which in turn reduces your fuel consumption."
