Somie4: Do you, SOMIE4, do solemnly swear, to take 'the company' as your own sister, to be nice to her, to allow her privacy, not to attempt to turn her to a housemaid or errand girl despite her similar condition, to engage only in civil conversation with her, to her, and to generally treat her with dignity and respect, in morning sickness and swollen feet, in doctor's appointment and back pain, until successful baby delivery do you part? 17 Likes 2 Shares |

Missvenus1: Nigeria's Currency Export Regulations (Official): For all residents: local currency (Nigerian Naira-NGN): up to NGN 5,000.- in banknotes. Foreign currencies: up to USD 5,000.-. Exceeding amounts must be declared upon departure. Non-residents: local currency: up to NGN 5,000.- in banknotes, provided declared upon departure. foreign currencies: up to the amounts imported and declared on arrival. Nigeria's Currency Export Regulations (Reality): Once you 'settle' immigration, you can travel with any amount you like. You only have the currency import regulation of the country to which you are carrying the money, to contend with. Nigerian Immigration will not ordinarily pat you down to search for excess cash except someone has snitched on you or you foolishly d your plenty cash at the airport. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

emmie14: Ah! Bros, yours is just their usual istrative delay since you are not a first timer. In fact, you are almost guaranteed one once the former visa was not abused. This was our first Schengen application and we were really worried. 1 Like |

Imustreturn: Indeed it was worth it at the end. I appreciate your encouraging words after my post 15 working days tension started and you gently made me realise that I was still in kindergarten as far as waiting was concerned. Please share your own good news with us soon. I am looking forward to it. |

Annediniebimo20: Yes, my office colleague had a similar experience No biggy at all. Just go with ALL your receipts and correspondence with your doctor/the hospital and the embassy. They just want to be sure that you did not use child welfare and you have promptly settled all your bills. Some Nigerians think they are smart. They go for child delivery then since the child is a citizen, they utilize child welfare thinking that they have gamed the system. Unknown to them, upon expiration of their visas, they will NEVER set foot in the US again for the next 10 years. It is at interviews such as yours that they realise what they have done to themselves. 1 Like 1 Share |

AZUH: This is the breakdown: Visa Fee: N21,900.00 VFS Service Fee: N8,400.00 SMS: N400.00+N50.00 Courier: N4,150.00 Lounge: N10,000.00 Total: N44,900.00 |

Sunnycool95: Well, I see your point. Especially when compared to TLS 's express 7 days express visa. However, the 5 hours I spent at VFS was a far greater waste than N10k. I could certainly have spent that time better. If not because I had a backlog of The Economist magazine on my phone, I'm sure the wait could've been much worse! After wasting 3 hours, I went to a VFS supervisor and said I was ready to pay for VIP. The supervisor lady told me that it was too late and that I should just endure since I was already being processed. ![]() |

AZUH: Exactly as advised by IMUSTRETURN. Please pay N10k for VIP Service and leave in less than 30 minutes if you don't want to spend 5 hours there! |

Imustreturn: Bro! Flesh and blood did not reveal this to you! ![]() I can't concentrate on anything! Just generally apprehensive! Someone on this thread reported that tourist visas are much more difficult to get now. Business and student visas are the preferred categories. And I applied for a 30-day tourist visa! ![]() |

Imustreturn: My port is out! And a decision was reached after exactly fifteen working days! I received the SMS and email notification on Monday 20th August. In fact, I am tracking delivery of our ports on UPS website. If not for these public holidays on Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd, I would have known our fate by Wednesday at the latest. I have never wished for public holidays to move faster in my life! ![]() ![]() |

seyewest: Brother, I have a small concern I am hoping you can help clarify. My wife and I applied for US B1/B2 visas and we were granted same back in January 2017. We explained to the visa officer during our interview that we will be travelling during the Easter of 2017 for a vacation but that we also intend to make enquiries in Houston about giving birth in the US. However, wifey and I didn't get pregnant and an opportunity came to travel to Australia in October 2017 which we preferred. This year 2018, we have been to the UK but we never really had reason to go to the US. Our US visas will expire in Jan 2019 and I am concerned that we may have renewal issues if we appear to have wasted the 2 years we were initially granted. So, I have arranged to travel to Houston in September 2018 for a one-week training and my wife will accompany me. The training is legit., company sponsored etc. However, two of my colleagues in the office claim they were grilled at POE to the point of humiliation because they hadn't travelled for a while on their US visas. One of them was so offended that he claimed he told the CBP officers point blank that he would rather return to Nigeria instead of enduring further humiliation. Then at that point, the CBP officers allegedly calmed down, treated him more respectfully and eventually cleared him. I don't want my wife and I to suffer a similar fate. Should we engage the US embassy before travelling and inform them of our changed travel circumstances? Or should we just plough ahead to POE and hope no similar issues arise? |

michaeladesiyan: This is really unfortunate! Stay and process your stay in the US on a visitor's visa? How can you make a comment like this in a public space with your first name and surname? POE officers know about nairaland! They probably visit this site to read up and stay updated with Naija US travel trends! 2 Likes |

On 27 July, 2018, I applied to the Italian Consulate for 30 days multiple entry Schengen visas for my wife and I to enable us attend a conference in Rome, and for a 3-week vacation thereafter to , London (outside Schengen hence the request for multiple entry visas), Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, and Greece. I regret not paying for VIP service at the VFS office in Lekki ![]() 1 Like |

People be acting like they haven't heard of one set of twins marrying another set of twins on the same day. How is this any different please? There is zero awkwardness or any other thing wrong with this scenario.
