Your 4 years old will go to preschool while your 6-year-old will go to elementary 1.
You do not need a nanny, for them because you work 20hrs a week so you must have closed from work by the time they are done with school.
eg you resume work at 8 am and close at 1 pm that is 4hrs, Monday to Friday gives yous 20hrs

Elily:
Hi everyone,

Please I need advice concerning my family's F2 visa.

I traveled to US exactly one year now on F1 visa for my PhD studies. I went to the interview alone because my family's port wasn't ready by then. They (husband and two kids, 6yrs & 4yrs) have tried on two attempts to get their F2 visa which was denied. On the first instance, the VO asked of our plan for a nanny since my husband said he will be spending one month in US (my husband was advised to say so). We didn't have plan for a nanny by then and they were denied.

On the second occasion after two months, we made inquiries on babysitting and presented it to the VO. My school also has resources for parenting graduate students which my husband presented to the VO but still they got denial.

I don't really know what else to do. I'm planning on going with them next time but I'm not sure if I will be allowed in the interview hall since my visa has not expired.

What should be our next of action

Please your candid advice will be highly appreciated.

Hi everyone, I recently got itted to the USA.. which comes with an award/scholarship but I am unclear on what the funding covers. I have msg the school for clarity but have not gotten a tangible response. this is the body of the award mail. So I want to know what part of funding the award covers. thank you for your contribution.

Your stipend is about $6.50/hr.
$500 per month is before the tax
$499 will be paid for you for every credit hour course you eg if you for 3 courses at 3 credit hr per course that will be 9 credit hrs
let's say your fees based on the above-ed course is $12,000 the school will waive
$499x9 = $4491 for you and you will pay the remainder by yourself

half bread is better than chinchin but at the same time start thinking about how to make up for the deficit.

Master of Business istration - Fall 2023

Congratulations on your recent ission to the Bleep College of Business Master of Business istration degree program. Based on your outstanding academic credentials, we are pleased to offer you a merit graduate assistantship for Fall 2023. This assistantship is renewable under the conditions discussed below and can be held for up to 5 semesters.

A graduate assistantship (GA) provides you with a number of benefits. For example, the GA carries a stipend of $2,000 per semester, and $500 per month for each of the four months of the fall and spring semesters. Primarily assistantships provide a waiver of tuition at the rate of $499 per credit hour for your courses up to 12 credit hours per semester and are allocated based on enrollment throughout the entire duration of the program. Your assistantship also waives out-of-state tuition covering all tuition-related expenses. The university requires graduate assistants to maintain 12 credit hours each fall and spring, meaning your assistantship's total estimated value is $5,988 for in-state students and $15,696 for out-of-state students per semester. Please be advised that an assistantship will not cover the total cost of your program’s expenses. You will be responsible for any and all remaining program and mandatory institutional student fees.

Being awarded a GA is an honor, and GAs have the opportunity to work closely with the faculty and staff of the college helping us to meet our teaching and research mission. We hope you're excited to receive this news

Immediately she opened her window she called me to come forward, which I did.

Me: Good morning mam
VO: Good morning

VO: Have you traveled before?
Me: No, I haven’t

VO: me your i20
Me: (es it to her)

VO: What are your plans with this degree in this school?
Me: Studying sociology will help me in acquiring more knowledge in social theories, critical thinking and data analysis, this will help me in achieving my career goal which is to take up a job with *****. The current CEO of ***** is someone I met when I volunteered to work with **** in sensitizing women about the dangers and preventions of sexual exploitation. Upon the end of my voluntary work I was promised a position and I look forward to graduating in time and coming back to focus on that. It’s also one of my career goal to start up an NGO that would focus on the prohibition of human trafficking in women and young girls specifically, It is also very important for me to be close to my aging mom who isn’t getting any younger.

VO: Who is sponsoring you?
Me: I would be sponsored by a family friend whom I have known since childhood, when the need for me to school abroad came up he had a conversation with my mom and offered to sponsor me in honor of the relationship that both families share

VO: What does your sponsor do
Me: He’s a software engineer by profession and works with Microsoft, he also owns an Africa food store in the US

VO: What do you do?
Me: I am currently a student at the university of ***** but due to the incessant strike it became necessary for me to school in a more predictable academic environment, hence the need to school abroad.
(VO nods in approval to my ds 160)

VO: Where would you be staying?
Me: I will be staying with my sponsor until my on-campus accommodation is sorted out.

VO: When did you graduate high school?
Me: I graduated high school in 2018 and gained ission in 2019(VO nods again)

VO: When is your program start date?
Me: Uhhhmmm(I really did this, I thought about it for like two secs) August, August 20th to be precise.

VO: Do you have any friends or family in the US?
Me: No, just my sponsor.

VO: Do you have siblings?
Me: Yes, I have two siblings

VO: Older or younger?
Me: Older. I am the last

VO: Where are they?
Me: My brother is in Lagos and my sister is here in Abuja

VO: What do they do?
Me: My Sister works with **** and my brother works with ****
VO: Typing….. (and then proceeds to me my i20 without my port but I didn’t notice she added the white paper to the i20) keeps typing..
Your visa has been approved( proceeds to tell me how I can collect it and saying something relating to the white paper but I didn’t hear.)
Me: Thank you mam, thank you( she smiles and then I walk away)

Note: From my experience, she didn’t ask for any documents or any proof, she seemed to be paying more tension to what I was saying and what I filled in my ds160. I noticed that whenever I said something corresponding to what I filled in my ds 160 she’d nod her head and with all these questions my interview still didn’t last up to 1min highest I’d say 45secs.
Thank you all for assisting me without even knowing it🙏🏾

she has 3 months to enroll in school in order to be in status

Ebisign:

If she transfers the sevis to the second school and decides not to enroll in the first school, classes will not start in the second school till January. Will she be allowed to stay in the country without being enrolled in any school? Her visa is carrying the name of the first school.
chibertha(f): 6:13pm On May 29, 2023
They should transfer their SEVIS to the second school by themselves.
But if they choose to in the first school they must pay the school fees for the semester attended and then ask for a transfer to the next school afterwards.
Ebisign:
Hello everyone,
Please I need insight on this situation for a close friend. She really needs to know her next steps.
If one has gotten a visa to go to one school for fall 2023 semester and travels and is yet to enroll in the school then the second school gives the person ission with more funding than the first school for the next semester which is spring 2024. Does the person have to enroll in the first school even though the first school is not giving any funding or Assistantship and is asking that the person has to pay the tuition deposit. Should she pay tuition while waiting for the second school to start enrollment? What can the person do in a situation like this?

The ph.D assistantship I received from my dream school has a deficit of $15,000.
Can I renegotiate with my Supervisor to give me full funding if the offer letter he sent to you does not cover your full cost of attendance?

What is the best way to approach this.

Should I just settle for another school that offered an assistantship that covers most of the Cost of attendance for my Masters degree, with only a deficit of $3,500?

all you said is not true.
I was first itted in 2019 and my enrolment deposit then was $2000 which I paid, due to some reason I did not apply for a visa. when I asked for a refund, it was returned to me the next day.
Then in 2020, the fees were reviewed downward due to COVID TO the $500 I paid and, was applied to my school fees

It was one of the conditions for being issued an I-20 then.
But today they have waived the deposit and application fees because it is one of our recommendations as international students here

Ronaldoguy:
Tell them to waive the enrollment deposit or deduct it from your scholarship. Dont ever pay any enrollment deposit because it is non refundable and it does not boost your visa chance. In fact any school with enrollment deposit is a red flag to VO
