blackman007:I will soon, I promise. @bolded, That's the reality of trading generally and not peculiar to deriv alone, they are designed for majority to lose money and not to make it. That's why I'm also not jumping on going live immediately even though I'm confident enough I can pull it off. I don't wanna go live, and when I start seeing shege left and right and start blaming deriv, instead of blaming my lack of patience to test the water before jumping in. So what was the experience like for you? What would you say caused the lack of success when you traded synthetics? 1 Like |

LincolnOnyeabor:Realistic lot sizes? I didn't get that part, I use lot sizes based on position sizing I'm risking per trade. That lot size was just equivalent of the $100 I risked for that particular trade. If it was a 1k , the 1% of that would have required 7.4lots instead of the 74lots you saw up there. Mt5 does the calculation for me, so I just input lot size after setting my SL to get the amount to risk. If I want to go in, I go all in after I'm sure. So don't really need funding anytime soon to test, demo will cut it for me for now. I will hit you up when I'm ready to go live. Thanks. 3 Likes 1 Share |

sharone21:Finally read a blog that gave answers to 99% of the questions I had. I've always avoided news event in forex, because it messes with my analysis. This is pure technical analysis which is my forte. So I will just wait and double the demo to 20k to build the needed morale and confidence before going all in. How long have you been trading this stuff though? And how's the experience like? 3 Likes |

LincolnOnyeabor:Zero commissions, I guess it's gonna be the same on swaps too? It's awesome. I will see more YouTube tutorials on it to know more about it. Still looking forward to your answers on those questions I asked prior though. Thanks. First trade arrived destination safely. 1 Like |

LincolnOnyeabor:Thanks it was helpful. I've ed through their website and opened a demo already. Judging by the historic chart I looked on MT5, it looks normal. I've googled lot of pros and cons about it but all I'm getting are not solid enough. So from someone who trades live on it. Does it have time it moves differently? Since no news affects it at all like you said. Or it's always as volatile 24/7? After going through the instruments they have, I've settled with the Volatility Indexes alone. Probably because that's the most common instrument I see people trade on IG most of the time. I'm risking $100 per trade which is 1% and will only go live if and whenever I doubled the 10k to 20k, or better still $15k with little drawdowns. I'm trying to take advantage of the no news factor, so I'm trading all time frames once it shows the pattern I trade. This is the current trade I spotted this morning currently on breakeven, the RR is 1:3, so $300 is the target. And these are the instruments I chose. Any recommendations by you will be appreciated boss, thanks once again. I will still read more about it, it's a weekend so I just decided to start taking trades already while also reading about it on the side too. 3 Likes |

twosquare:Easy question. 10k live funding anyday twice on a Friday. You can then use your first withdrawal to purchase the 100k evaluation and trade alongside it. The 10k is even cheaper, this shouldn't even raise any doubts at all. 4 Likes |

Cashhy11:They all went up but dropped more aggressively to the downside. Only US30 would have hit my target. S&P500 was close to it as well. But Nas, Btc, and UK100 only went half way before the reversal. That's why it's good to break even after some significant move in your direction. Protect your money first and take the rest the market offers. No more, no less. News trading to me will always seem like a gamble for day traders. 1 Like |

Pull up your charts now and check all the listed stocks going how we predicted once again. Like Peteregwu would say, "stop playing, and if you're playing, don't play with me". ![]() ![]() 3 Likes |

LincolnOnyeabor:Nice one. But how's this deriv stuff? How can I get access to the charts without going live? I would like to test my strategy on it. 1 Like |

If today was a normal day and not NFP's, all these stocks looks bullish from my end here. Nas100, US30, UK100, and S&P500. But NFP is crazy and can send price tumbling anywhere and rubbish technicals. So what do we do on days like this? We say not today. 3 Likes |

Cashhy11:Slept off, and woke up to the loss. The deleted EurChf would have played out nicely too had I not deleted it or if I was awoke to place another order. All in all, me ayam done trading for the week. NFP people, all the best o. 3 Likes |

EurChf doesn't look like it's gonna come down that low, but GbpChf can. So I've set a buy limit for GbpChf. 1:2rr.

Cashhy11:I think I've already missed the train on EurChf, hopefully it does one pick up again. Didn't give me enough entry signal before zooming up.

Cashhy11:Chf has dropped further down in Asian, so all needed in London now is long opportunities and reversal candles to scalp few pips off the effing sluggish pair. I won't do too much, anything around 1:2rr and we are good to go.

LincolnOnyeabor:It boosts confidence bro. That's why I don't complain about missing winning trades anymore, but I'm happy instead that it went how I expected and I know another opportunity will present itself sooner rather than later. You might want to reduce how you interact with people offline about forex especially when one is really not there yet. It increases the pressure to perform on you which is really not good for your growth. Only 3people[my siblings and gf] knows that I trade, the rest probably thinks I'm into fraud and God knows I'm not ready to put them out of their misery anytime soon. 6 Likes |

I will be looking to long ×××chf pairs during London session tomorrow and call it a week. Hopefully it goes down further during the Asian session so I can buy the low during London tomorrow. EurChf, UsdChf are the two on my watchlist.

Cashhy11:The news came out in favor of my two trades, but unfortunately I'm out of the two already. Gold took me out on BE and started selling. Like I always say, the satisfaction that comes with being right with trade entries is so orgasmic. I couldn't take advantage of the Jpy pairs as none showed entry in London. I already had two extremely volatile instruments trades running during New York that I couldn't benefit from the JPY long prediction that happened across board. Happy weekend traders. 3 Likes |

Gold stopped me out at breakeven as expected. I've broke even on Nas too, and reduced my TP to just 1:3rr. If it doesn't hit before 3pm. I will be closing manually. I'm too close to my TP to leave it opened with 3pm news at the corner. I have more to lose if it doesn't favor me than to gain if it does. So it's not really worth it. Modified: I've closed when three different 5mins candle started rejecting. Should be around 2.4rr. I'm done trading for the week. I might try London session tomorrow, but if nothing comes up. Till next week Tuesday then and let price correct itself on Monday with the mess the NFP will cause to it tomorrow. Ciao. 1 Like |

Cashhy11:I've gone breakeven on gold. I don't like it when trade gets that close to my SL, I was expecting a little tap and reversal to my predicted direction, but it went for my stop and I only escaped by 2-4pips. Being in this trade till now was pure luck. Most of my winning trades just brush my entry and reverses, but this one really tangled with my balls, so I won't be giving her second chance to take me out. I believe if it really wants to sell, it shouldn't return back to that entry for the next couple of minutes/hours. And if it does return, I lose nothing.

Narrow escape on gold. It could still hit my stoploss though. Hopefully it doesn't.

Cashhy11:I said I was gonna long again, so I set a limit order close to yesterday's low to ride it longer and have a smaller stop to increase the RR. Yesterday trade only gave 1:1.3rr when I closed it manually. If today's trade can reach yesterday's high close to where I closed yesterday's, it would give a 1:4.6rr instead. I bought too high yesterday, so I had to resist ing too early today. It's good it's playing out so far. Thought I had missed the move initially when it started buying during London session. I shorted gold too. But it seems that one wants to hit my stop. 1 Like |

Cashhy11:It was a good idea I left with something instead of waiting for more only to have it take the one I already had. It has almost retraced back to my entry as I predicted. I'm looking to long again if it gives another signal to enter to. The chart is still showing me same thing I saw this morning that made me long it. So long again I shall if presented with another opportunity. Other long options for tomorrow are the ×××jpy pairs. I will also be on the lookout for them too. T 5 Likes |

My Nas trade closed at around 1:1.3rr. Don't think there's any more long moves today. I'd rather leave with something than have it retraced close to my entry.

Cashhy11:I wasn't filled up as price didn't come lower as I'd expected before going up, so order cancelled. My Nas trade is at breakeven now, I can only watch what happens till 8pm. Worst case scenario is a breakeven, better scenario is closing manually in profit while the best scenario is hitting the full TP. 4 Likes |

EJ closed exactly how I wanted it. Limit order has been placed below to ride to the upside. Price can only do two things, hit my SL or head to my TP if I'm filled in. I just make sure I make more when I'm right than I lose when I'm wrong. 4 Likes |

Had liver to hold through news today because I was shooting for a lot of pips on the Ustec, the only way to reach that TP was through news event. Glad it pays off that I didn't break even before the news and stood my ground. If not I would have been stopped out by the news fakeout. I'm looking to long EJ for about 50pips TP, so my SL will be around 17pips or thereabouts. It all depends on what this next 30mins candle says though. If not, tomorrow is another day. 3 Likes |

BeginnerTrader:I'm one of the staunchest advocates of naked charts and zero indicators. But you see this indicator ehn, not even my gf can make me remove it from my chart. I'd rather breakup with her than make do of it. It's a good thing I could trade before I found it though, not like I can't do without it, it's just that I'm better with it. 2 Likes |

BeginnerTrader:You wey dey disguise with your name. Which kain yeye beginnertrader ![]() ![]() This is what my chart looks like now. No s or resistances whatever. Just my one timeframe moving average that forms my session bias, and I watch for my candles sticks reversal patterns to the big boys to ride along.
