Hi @JMG12 please I sent you a message here and on Instagram. Please do you think I should add some more money to my POF and send a webform with the new update.. I submitted my study permit application Dec 23 and did biometrics Jan 5. Then the exchange rate was about 650, now the exchange rate has doubled.. I submitted $53,000 ( I am going alone, I am not married , 18k for tuition and 24k for living expenses, as my program is 14months , leaving me with $10k extra to spare) but now with this volatile exchange rate my POF has depreciated in value to $32k (so technically does not cover my living expenses and tuition anymore) . My application is 8weeks now, and the only thing showing is Biometrics and Background check -IN PROGRESS, Eligibility and Medical says -NOT STARTED.. I am really worried, do I put more cash in my and send a webform with the new statement balance?

Hi, i used the same port photograph (Soft copy) from an old CIC application for my new CIC application & it wasn't a problem.. The applications were 11months apart..

Exactly what was also done for mine...
Also, as i couldn't sign electronically, i printed the family information form, signed and dated it, scanned and ed it like that...

#smiles#....you didn't have to print them out or sign anything physically.. Once you finished filling each form and at the end it says Click 'Validate.: You have signed ( you'll see that your name appears on the top right corner of each form)...it will generate a Bar Code after validating.
Additionally , when you finally press 'submit', a spot would come up where you fill your name at the end of the application, after confirming from you that all you have filled is correct.. That is your final electronic signature..

Scan as many documents as you can, convert them to Pdf files and merge the Pdf files as one file using any application eg Pdf merger. Then it.
To illustrate, you can merge your marriage certificate & child birth certificate together with your port/Visa pages and in the spot for port..

Canada doesn't do Visa Lottery, so the one you've presumed to have done is most likely not a legit scheme. So it is safe to say in your application that you have not been refused a Canadian Visa. If you however have been refused a US visa, please say 'Yes'.. If there's a part for you to state the reason why, please give a reason why you feel you were refused a Visa. it can range from nervousness during your interview to not being financially buoyant as at the time of applying, reasons are surplus for you to be honest in your application... Honesty is the best policy...

it does not mean the application has not been touched..Infact most times, it remains that way till a decision is made on the application. If you have done biometrics, do not worry, they will access it when they need from their computers without it reflecting on your page..

There is nothing wrong with your application, you must have ticked that you would like to receive 'monthly updates' from the embassy on your CIC page its an auto generated message ..Expect that every month through out your application process till your application is Closed.

* I chose not to self sponsor because i had just started a new job & my wasn't really smiling.

* As soon as my application ed the processing time & no word from them i wrote a polite mail to them in Ghana and sent a CSE aswell on 6/02/17 to remind them about my application..

You must have ticked on your CIC page that you would want a monthly update from CIC about your application, that is the update you are getting.

Attach an SOP or LOE next time, that is the only avenue for you to let the VO understand the reason for your choice of study even though you have earlier qualifications that are different.. But it may be wise to get your gcms files first before you reapply though.

Use the Application online called 'PDF Merger' or any PDF merge app you like to merge your multiple PDF files... But merge them orderly.. For example anything that has to do with finances like your sponsors and letter from your sponsor, bank statements, proof of land ownerships etc merge them as one file and under the section on your CIC page that says 'Proof of finance'.. If you want to Academic files like your Certificate merge it together with your ission letter from your canada school and it under 'Acceptance Letter'.. If you are doing upfront medical and police report merge it with your Letter of Explanation and it in that section.
In the end the VO will print them all out and assess them.

Fill the web form .. So that the guys in charge they can put a bit of pressure on them in Ghana...

Its 30 weeks since i submitted my application via paper route to the embassy in ghana for a study permit, am yet to get any positive response from them. Have sent mails via the email address and the CIC website, all i get is:"Kindly note that your application is still in queue for processing. No further action is needed from you at this time."

I never thought i would wait this long for it. Just confused

Sorry, did you mean to say it was transferred to Accra Ghana? Cos i don't think it can be transferred to Lagos and still be under processing. I believe a decision has been made for it to be transferred to Lagos and no need for medicals. You can clear me up should in case i didn't get you.

If a decision has been made it will be 'dispatched in the message ' but transfered means its gone from VFS office (the people who handle the collection) & transfered to Canada (Lagos ) Embassy (which we know is handled in Accra especially student permits).

Yes, they will send you a message to come submit your port. There is no fixed time but it can range from 5-14days as observed from previous processing.

Does the medical request mean anything about my chances of getting the permit since school resumed on 9th of January

A Statement of result can be submitted as you have no other alternative at the moment.. Like the TRV doctor mentioned you may have to attach a new offer letter if it is requested, but if you are sure that you are actually to resume late, if a new offer letter is requested attach your email correspondences with the school asking to come late and their reply that you can.
Be prayerful about your approval, its looks like thats were the need for the additional documents is headed..#smiles#..so stay strong!

I applied for study permit visa to Canada on Oct 26, 2016 online. Did biometics Nov 9 or thereabout and got medical mail Jan 17.

The thing is I did medical upfront at Prime Medical Consultants Sept 15 in Port Harcourt but somehow my sis (in Canada) missed ing the medical sheet when submitting my application. I went back to the said hospital last two wks thursday. I later got to know they forwarded my results the following sunday. My still hasnt been updated yet. I was even at d hospital last friday and they claimed to have sent my results still. My sis has also sent an inquiry to cic online on that (last thursday).

Pls good people what do I do? Has there been a slightly similar case like mine that I could learn from?

The hospital might have sent it but you have to send the embassy the UMI number on the Upfront medical sheet via email so they can access it and update your medicals.

Thanks. I applied 3rd oct 2016, online application got my port request 16th january 2017. Its my 3rd attempt actually, i didn't do anything exceptionally new except send them a calm but angry LOE telling them its my last attempt, with a notarized paper showing my willingness to come back and prayers. it took me a year in all.

It was stated in the email that they won't issue me a visa beyond the expiry date of my port.. Can I renew my port even though i still have 6 months more?

Congratulations!..Ofcourse you can renew your port just like @successtouch said .. When did you apply for your student permit?
