Dvea: Thank you. You have really taken good time and effort to respond to this man - @immortalcrown who has annoyingly insisted on asking what can be regarded as ridiculous questions. Even as at 2018, most of the security guards in my office at Lekki earning less than 60k monthly at the time, use to arrange to work straight for one or 2 weeks (sleeping in the office) without going off duty because they can't afford the daily commute to/fro their homes. You can imagine what the situation would be at the moment! Most of the lowly paid workers who work far away from their home have simply stopped working, or taken to squaring with friends who have houses in the neighbourhood of their work places. However, in the majority of cases, sales girls and similar low cadre workers usually stick to working not too far away from where they live. Many people are living so poorly, just managing to stay alive, and unless some of them start dropping dead, some funny people would still be saying "at least they go to work", so it means they are OK. Despite the current proliferation of private universities, they are still not easily found in all locations. Many lecturers have to be commuting long distance in order to report for work daily. For instance, many people working in UNILAG live far away, even in Ogun State. And if you consider a salary of less that 500k on the average for most Professors, who must have spend over 20-25years lecturing after their first degrees, what of other junior lecturers who may even be mature, but recently diverted to academic just completing PhDs in their late 40s and 50s. They even earn much lower, yet have family responsibilities. they labour to have PhD, and many even have multiple other degrees and professional qualifications since not all of them venture directly into academics from the start. The salary is just too low. At this stage, many have children in the universities themselves and also cater for larger extended family problems. I wonder how much @immortalcrown earns that he thinks lecturing work is currently lucrative and salary of less than 500k is not a poor compensation for a professor who is at the peak of the academic career in the current depressed economy. 2 Likes |

thrillionaire: I was actually praying for the Prof Tahir man to be relieved of his position and wondering whether Tinubu would allow the man rubbish Southerners' advancements in education with his archaic and backward policy on schooling age. If his fellow-Northerner replacement insists on implementing the same obnoxious 18 years minimum age of ission into tertiary institutions policy, he would be shown the way out unceremoniously as well. Good riddance to bad rubbish! 1 Like |

mrvitalis: The statement that the "Sahara Desert and the Amazon alternate every 10,000 years" is not accurate, but it may be loosely related to known climate cycles affecting these regions. The Sahara Desert has experienced significant climatic shifts in the past. Around 10,000 years ago, during the African Humid Period (AHP), the Sahara was much greener and ed lakes, rivers, and vegetation. This was caused by changes in the Earth's orbit, which affected the African monsoon system and increased rainfall in the region. However, over time, this period of greenery ended as the climate became drier, and the Sahara reverted to desert conditions. Similarly, the Amazon rainforest has been affected by climate changes over millennia, but not in the same cyclical pattern as the Sahara. The Amazon has remained largely forested for millions of years, although it has experienced periods of drying and deforestation, particularly during the ice ages. In a nutshell, while the Sahara has gone through wet and dry phases every few thousand years due to orbital changes, there is no evidence of a regular 10,000-year alternation with the Amazon. Both regions are influenced by complex, independent climate factors, not a shared cyclical relationship. 6 Likes |

NaijaCrusader: I don't know why there is no campaign to remove the minister for education and stop the obnoxious policy! I would have understood if this was coming from an Hausa/Fulani president's tenure. However, to have this under a Yoruba presidency, and there is no sustained rukus from the people is a great wonder! I don't even think the President is aware that the policy is a stain on his government! |

RodgersAkpafu: Though I Israel and pity the helpless ones who happen to have been born in Palestine (if they chose to be peace-loving), I think Israel should have been more circumspect about the way they are waging this war. Apparently, it seems HAMAS has succeeded in their quest to provoke Israel to heavy-handed over-reaction, and into subsequent loss of sympathy of other nations. It was so clear from the beginning, so I don't understand why they still didn't use wisdom to handle the situation! You can win all your battles at once! You can see the mentality of jihadists - they don't mind how many of their own people's lives they are wasting just to get their desires achieved. HAMAS knew what they were gunning for from the inception, orchestrated their own civilians murders in the hands of Israel by intermingling with the people during battles, considering them as mere collateral damage (matyrs), yet they complain that Israel is committing a genocide! They are demonically-inspired strategists! |

CursedOsuPigs: So in the UK, will the child who finished A-levels be required to start writing a delaying exam like JAMB again? He/She would just gain an ission for a mere 3 years University degree! Does this really exist in Nigeria? Do they peg age of entry into good jobs to 24years of age over there? We should realise that Nigeria is quite different, and there are already lots of bottlenecks placed ahead of the average citizen, without having to add more road-blocks! |

PressMyButton: He was indirectly responsible for the killings. Seeing he was going to be arrested, Wadume places a call to the military officer that was providing 'cover' for him. The military officer then instructed his subordinates to 'rescue' him from the Police. In a place where the rule of law operates properly, he would have been charged as being partially responsible for the murders of the Police officers while performing their duty! Unfortunately, Nigeria 'happened' to the dead officers! Recall the case of the over 70 DSS and Police officers that were ruthlessly murdered in cold blood on the order of a community religious cult leader in Nassarawa some years ago. The IGP of the dispensation famously said "we will forgive them", so nothing came out of it. 1 Like |

Westerhoffe: Well, it's quite difficult to make an adult do exactly what you want if they don't want the same thing all the time. Your list is long, while not bad in essence, yet it's difficult to keep up for women as they grow older. At this point, if you've not been very caring and respectful of them from the early stage, they won't care what you think at all and you may start having conflicts. Therefore I would rather see your list as a 'wish-list' that you are hoping and praying for, but not entirely a 'demand-list'. Another important thing to note is that high-heeled shoes are not really healthy for people and will often lead to pains and maybe even difficulty in walking later in life for most women. |

Hello Brother, I appreciate the sharing of your experience. However, I think you should be very careful about engaging the spirits in discussions. You may unknowingly be opening yourself up to attacks and manipulations by doing so. Of course, you can command them based on the scriptures - God's own words, not your own words or ideas. Listening to them and entertaining their lies may lead to more harm than good. May God be with you. Amen |

I think many of our people largely lack comprehension ability especially when it comes to written form of communication. From the story as written on the first page, the nurse tampered with the DNA samples. Understanding what that means clearly makes it possible for one to imagine the outcome. The samples are the ones to be tested in the lab, and if they are swapped by someone that has access to such within the hospital system, the results will automatically be wrong. People read the story, yet they skipped this important part of the information, and they now question how the Nurse can change the test results when she clearly can't be authorised to that extent. In actual fact, the story did not say that she changed the test results, but she swapped the DNA samples before the test. Definitely, the end results would be the same! My Naija people! 2 Likes |

goodconsience77: On the contrary, in my own opinion, I believe that the quest for a third term was OBJ's undoing, which contributes to what Nigeria is suffering today. Such moves might have worked in Rwanda and China, but they have proved a failure in Nigeria. OBJ had already achieved more than people expected of him when he came in as the president by laying a good foundation for the country's economy, effecting a substantial level of debt repayment which allowed his campaign efforts to secure debt forgiveness - a largely successful endeavor. He was already on the way towards achieving privatization, having started in the Telecom sector. He just needed to settle down and carefully narrow down who could succeed him. However, he was influenced by busybody sycophants who convinced him that Nigeria would not do well without him and that he needed an additional term in office to consolidate on his achievements so far. Once he bought into that idea, he lost focus and devoted his time and effort to gathering money for bribing the National Assembly in order to change the constitution to allow him to contest again. All his genuine anti-corruption efforts slowed down, and he began witch-hunting his perceived opponents. He also slowed down on privatization efforts and was busy attempting to secure for the third term attempt. Of course, those who egged him on in this direction used the opportunity to either steal from the economy, knowing that he was too distracted to fight them with the EFCC, or they collected money from him supposedly to disburse to would-be ers. Eventually, when it became obvious that a third term would not be allowed, he had wasted a lot of 'Ghana-must-go' hoards of cash on politicians and had to hastily plan for an emergency successor. He didn't have much time to ensure the sustainability of his successes, which were already eroding under his own tenure due to the ill-advised ambition to secure an extra term. The rest is history, as we started a nose-dive right from the terminally ill Yar'Adua, who could not govern well and decisively due to ill-health and relied on Turai and the "cabals" to make selfish decisions for the country. He even reversed most of the last-minute Board of Public Procurement (BPP) sales of assets and did not do anything to correct the errors that he was meant to. Now, under his watch, we are wasted assets such as NITEL and left the refineries moribund. Nigeria's fate has only sunk even further under subsequent government since then. So, greedy elongation of tenure is not a great idea. |

Rebuke: The lady's mother is Russian/Ukranian, hence her looks. Apart from her physical beauty, she has proven to be courageous in her zeal to see the Ajaokuta Stella company project rise up from the dust and become productive. She's featured in several public debates and national assembly open fora, where she showed her bite. We hope and pray that she will continue to portend good for her people, and not go the way of most of the brilliant females ahead of her who disappointed all by going into thieving frenzies as soon as they get top public position! 1 Like |

Dafresh: Hello OP, I ed your results for Bing AI chatbot to analyse. The results are below for you to read and decide whether to follow the suggested advice: The Widal test is a blood test that detects antibodies against the bacteria that cause typhoid fever and paratyphoid fever. The test results show the titers of the antibodies against the O and H antigens of four types of Salmonella bacteria: Paratyphi A, Paratyphi B, Paratyphi C, and Typhi D. The interpretation of the results depends on the baseline titers of the antibodies in the population, which may vary by region and exposure. Generally, a titer of 1:80 or higher is considered significant and indicative of a recent or current infection. However, some people may have higher titers due to previous vaccination or exposure, and some people may have lower titers despite being infected. Therefore, the Widal test is not very specific or sensitive, and it should be confirmed by other tests such as blood culture or stool culture. Based on the ed document, the results of the Widal test are as follows: |------------------------| O | H | | Sal. Paratyphi A | 1:40 | 1:40 | | Sal. Paratyphi B | 1:20 | 1:20 | | Sal. Paratyphi C | 1:20 | 1:20 | | Sal. Typhi D | 1:80 | 1:80 | The results show that the titers of the antibodies against all four types of Salmonella bacteria are below or equal to 1:80, which means that there is no evidence of a recent or current infection by these bacteria. However, this does not rule out the possibility of a false negative result, especially if the test was done too early or too late in the course of the illness. Therefore, it is advisable to repeat the test after a few days or consult a doctor for further diagnosis and treatment. The treatment of typhoid fever and paratyphoid fever usually involves antibiotics such as ciprofloxacin, azithromycin, or ceftriaxone. However, some strains of Salmonella bacteria may be resistant to these antibiotics, so it is important to choose the appropriate antibiotic based on the sensitivity test or the local resistance patterns. The treatment may last for 10 to 14 days, depending on the severity of the illness and the response to the antibiotic. In addition to antibiotics, ive care such as hydration, nutrition, and pain relief may be needed. I hope this helps you understand your Widal test results and possible treatment options. Please note that I am not a medical professional and this is not medical advice. You should always consult your doctor before taking any medication or making any health-related decisions. |

Dandat: Uh, there is a huge degree of ignorance in the land! People are jumping to conclusions about the ministerial nominee's documents being forged! That rule you mentioned happened a lot earlier for most parts of Southern Nigeria (50s, 60s) and not in the 80s. I started school at 3 years of age in 1975, since my mum was a teacher, and my parents made me repeat primary 1 even though I ed the promotion exam by their choice. Quite a few fellow school teachers' children in my situation did not repeat any classes but left secondary school at 14 years of age! I left at 15 years since we did not go through the 6-3-3-4 system of education! This was common for children of teachers in Ondo State at the time, and there were no nursery schools to cause unnecessary delays! Many of my close friends, who were sired by teachers, graduated from secondary schools between the ages of 14 and 16 years by 1987! |

If this response is not too late, I think you should just proceed for your Masters degree in the UK with she goes along with you as a dependent. Being a ed Midwife already in Nigeria, she can commence the UK NMC process to becoming ed in the UK while working to you over there. Currently, Midwives seem to have better opportunities of securing visa sponsorship jobs. This would be especially easy as you would both be in the UK already. You can both determine much later if she still wants to convert back to Nursing. I don't think she needs to spend much money on this at the moment. From information available and testimonies of people on YouTube, she can even write NCLEX Nursing, and if she es, she can practice as a ed Nurse in the US, even with her current RM diploma! Seek credible information! |

OP should clearly understand that his new wife is being deliberately difficult and even wicked. If anything should happen to him later in life and he is no longer available to personally care for his children from his late wife (illness or death), the new wife will treat them very hashly. They will suffer! OP can't be too gentle here. He needs to be mad angry and let the woman's know that if she can't treat the child well as due your own child, the marriage will die. QED! He can't be indecisive and make the woman think she's right in any way concerning this. She already knew the girl as your child (adopted notwithstanding) before marrying you, and that has not changed regardless of the background story. She got married to a widower with children, that much detail was enough. I am even very annoyed on your behalf, and my response here is just a mellowed-down version of how I really feel and believe you should feel (outraged) - not for you to start apologizing for the pact that you made with your late wife with the new one! Bro, this woman (including your busy-body aunty who was evidently not well-meaning) can't be allowed to ride rough-shod on you and destroy the peace of your home! Away with her, abeg! |

Princesspreshus: I strongly believe you don't know what you are saying, as you definitely don't know what slavery connotes. As a slave, you don't have rights and would most probably be suffering in the midst of plenty as you are seen as being less than a human being. I think I understand you a bit, but still never allow sentiments and your current circumstances to make you willingly surrender your destiny to obliteration. Similar sentiments made a lot of people take the Libyan route. They didn't realise they would be treated as being less than animals. Many didn't live to tell their own story of the sufferings in the desert and tortures in Libyan prisons by themselves. 4 Likes 1 Share |

arms8022: Why do you guys think he is lying about the age he was in SS1? People's background vary and quite a sizable number of people actually attended school early, even years ago. I am 50 years old and left secondary school at 15 years of age during the days of 5 years of secondary school education. Many of my close friends in Ondo / Ekiti States were of similar age when they left secondary school - especially if they have teacher as a parent! My former employer (a lady) graduated from UNILAG at 19 years of age in the 80s, so go figure out! My 1st daughter of currently 14 years old at SS2, while my younger daughter is 10 years old in JS2. We even have a family friend whose daughter is presently in SS3 now but will only turn 14 years old in January 2023! Nigeria is full of diverse people with diverse experiences! 5 Likes 1 Share |

RedChiefPriest: From the way the original post is worded on Twitter, it may be that the combined income of the couple is 24million Naira per annum. Another mistake people make about the analysis of a good salary in Nigeria is that there is no consideration that the people with so-called great jobs may somehow lose their jobs and never be able secure replacements remotely close to their previous salaries. In fact, if you've had a relatively good-paying job in Nigeria, you are an "endangered specie" as it may turn out to be your undoing if ever something went wrong with your career trajectory along the way! You could be so over-qualified that you would be by-ed even for the simplest jobs that you could easily do. This is the experience of many people that I know in this category. They regretted not haven left Nigeria when they were at the top of their careers, even though they won't have minded securing jobs with average salaries now. However, none are forthcoming! There is no job security in Nigeria! If you happen to fall, you are most probably down and out! That's why people are so prayerful and many even fetish - so as to hold on to whatever good one happens to get in Nigeria! There are usually many "adversaries" who would be scheming to bring you down through any means possible, including going "spiritual" on you! If you know, you know! 6 Likes 2 Shares |
