http://ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/NewsArchive/artikel.php?ID=214755 It has recently come to my attention that 45 Ghanaians were deported from Nigeria and robbed by the government of the Nigeria by being prevented from even collecting their stuff. Historically both Nigeria and Ghana have done massive deportations of each others citizens. In 1969 Ghana deported up to 2 million Nigerians and in the 80's Nigeria deported 1.5 million Ghanaians while mocking the poor citizens by naming a bag after them, the Ghana Must Go Bag. I thought we had matured past the stage of such massive deportations but, if we have not then, I am of the opinion that it is time to deport at least 5 times the amount deported from Nigeria. That would mean we need to deport at least 225 Nigerians. Prior to the migration of Nigerians in the 90's Ghana was not known for several crimes like the infamous 419 crimes but, since Nigerians started coming to Ghana the fraudulent crimes have put our country on the list of the top 419 countries in the world. Ghana's good name and hard won reputation has been forever tarnished due to these criminal elements who have disrespected the kindness and welcoming attitude of Ghanaians. In fact, some of the low thinking ones among them view this kindness as a form of weakness and may prefer to be treated as they are in other countries which either deport them or execute them as a quick internet search will prove! It seems we are importing some of the worst irritants from Nigeria and if we don't get rid of them we are going to have to continue paying for their crime. Surely there are some good Nigerians but, the bad ones outweigh the good ones. The bad ones include those who commit the aforementioned crimes, and those who have unearned arrogance. By far the later irritants are the most annoying of the Nigerians and the first that must be deported! It is this arrogance that manifested itself when the vain minister within Nigeria had the audacity to deport migrants without letting them collect their things. This is by far the lowest level of primitive nature that can occur in 2011 and does not happen in any state where there is rule of law. I am sure their belongings are now being shared among the criminal element in that country. Thus, the time has come! We need an Aliens Compliance Order of 2011 similar to that of 1969 to rid us of the criminal element of Nigerians within Ghana. They have gotten the ball rolling again so, we must finish it this time. It starts by kicking all those who overstayed their visa out of Ghana as they are likely jobless and committing crimes. It continues by auditing the source of funding for many of the criminal businesses we have imported from Nigeria in recent years. It further continues by reasserting that if you are going to be a guest in Ghana you better follow the rules or, there is a consequence. After all, if the standard in 2011 is kicking people out without their belongings then, that is the least we can do. |

Water taps have run dry at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, and tankers have been called to the rescue, investigations have revealed. P.M.NEWS learned that since Tuesday evening when the central water supply system broke down at Nigeria’s busiest airport, convenience rooms in the facility were filled with human waste and the entire terminal building covered with awful stench for two days. It was gathered that while most engers avoided the airport’s toilets, those who were pressed by the call of nature, made use of table water and came along with their tissue paper. A female traveller and wife of a Nigerian serving Senator almost collapsed in the toilets when she came face to face with a heap of excreta and assailed by heavy stench. She recovered many hours later and placed a distressed call to P.M.NEWS. A cleaner who works in the building told our correspondent yesterday that the toilets were a no-go area between Tuesday and Wednesday. “Oga, people are wicked,” he said. “People piled excrement on top of excrement. There was excrement everywhere.” “There was no water here yesterday (Wednesday) and early today (Thursday). If you had come early, I will not even allow you to come near here,” he added. Yesterday, our correspondent saw tankers supplying water to the airport, but investigations revealed that the water supplied yesterday was not enough. FAAN has been headed by Mr. Richard Aisuebeogun since November 2008 when the former head, Mr. Mohammed Usman, was sacked by the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua. He reports to the Ministry of Aviation. The immediate past Minister of Aviation, Mrs. Fidelia Njeze, last year fixed the toilets at MMIA. When P.M.NEWS ed the General Manager, Public Affairs of FAAN, Mr. Akin Olukunle, yesterday, he declined to explain the circumstances surrounding the situation at the airport IMAGINE ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2011/06/10/water-taps-run-dry-at-lagos-airport-tankers-to-the-rescue/ |

Friday, April 15, 2011 A mild drama was witnessed recently at an interactive session between President Goodluck Jonathan and of the entertainment, arts and creative industries. The well –attended event, which held at the posh Expo Hall, Eko Hotel and Suites, was further amplified by the intimidating presence of several Nollywood stars and their musician counterparts. To the consternation of many, mid way into the gathering some people started sharing cartons of customized Goodluck Biscuits, from Deli Foods, with the smiling image of Mr. President boldly emblazoned on it. However, painfully for Jonathan and his team, several of the stars angrily turned down the embarrassing gift from Mr. President. And their reason was simple. Why would Mr. President give them biscuits at a corporate event like school children? “That was a very embarrassing gift my brother. Are cartons of biscuits our problem in the industry? We came here to rub minds and interact with Mr. President on how to move the industry forward and they were busy sharing biscuits to us as if we were school children. I and several other stars on our table rejected the biscuits; in fact, we did not bother to touch it where it was kept. We need ideas and s on how to move the industry forward and not cartons of biscuits. They should have told us to come with our children since biscuit’ sharing was their main reason for conveying the meeting, sincerely, I and several of my colleagues felt insulted,” blasted this visibly angry star in Nollywood. Another stakeholder who spoke with us on the condition of anonymity maintained that the Goodluck Biscuits gifts, shows how unserious those at the corridors of power sees and treats Nollywood. “Mr. President consulted widely with other stakeholders and professional bodies in the country and didn’t insult them by sharing cartons of biscuits. But when it was our time they started sharing biscuits to us that goes to show how unserious they regard us despite all our efforts at helping to rebrand the nation with our movies. On a lighter note, I think they decided to use the so-called N200 million Dollar loan to buy biscuits for us, since in their own thinking we are very hungry, quite appalling.” ![]() ![]() ![]() http://odili.net/news/source/2011/apr/15/500.html |
