Hello everyone,

For the past few weeks, I’ve been working on Startupsvilla—a directory website that curates all Nigerian startups in one place.

🌟 Why I Built This?
Back in January, I was searching for a Nigerian brokerage app for my stock investment journey. I received different recommendations, but the lack of a single trusted resource made the process overwhelming. Google wasn’t much help either, as many investment app lists were locked behind paywalls.

So, I decided to create Startupsvilla—a platform where Nigerians can discover startups that simplify daily life, boost productivity, and business growth.

🔥 What You Can Do on Startupsvilla?
✅ Explore startups across various categories, including fintech (investment apps, Web3, digital banks), edtech, and healthtech—with more categories coming soon!
✅ View detailed startup profiles with key insights.
✅ Like and bookmark startups for future reference in your dashboard.
✅ Edit and update your profile seamlessly.

Check it out here: https://www.startupsvilla.com/ 🚀

Hey boss, is there any alternative to android studio? It's quite heavy and slow on my system

To those interested, I recently published an article on "how to build an infinite scrolling news feed with NextJs 13 server actions".

Here's the link to the article: https://qdus.hashnode.dev/build-an-infinite-scrolling-news-feed-with-nextjs-13-server-action

The live version: https://infinite-scroll-news-feed(.)vercel(.)app/

I also use react-query "useInfiniteQuery" to implement another version of the infinite scroll... It's all in the source code which can be found in the article

Failure2019:

Tailwind CSS
Next js

You don't need CSS to beautify your site

Anything js is modern bloat

You don't know what you're saying lmao

Failure2019:
Using all these bloated technologies just to build a site

Better to stick with a static website builder like Hugo

What's the bloated technology here? It's just a NextJs website

I have always wanted to have my own blog and now it brings me joy that I have been able to build a custom technical blog for myself. It's built with NextJs 13 + Markdown+ TypeScript + Tailwind + Vercel. I made it open source so y'all can customize to your own taste!!!

Features:
Syntax highlighting
Table of content
Post categories,
dynamic OG images,
dynamic metadata/ SEO optimized
comments (coming soon 🔜)
Post scroll progress (coming soon 🔜)

Hi Devs, so I finally had time to explore NextJs 13 app directory(server components) and I created an advance multistep form with it, typescript, Tailwindcss, framer-motion, radix-ui and zod(for form validation).

I was amazed to how easy I was able to grab the new shiny stuff in the server components.

(Live link): steppers-form[.]vercel[.]app/

(GitHub Repo): https://github.com/FesoQue/Advance-Multi-Step-Form

It's open source and you guys can contribute/fork it

These are some of the things I got done on PaletteAI in my spare time:

✅ Changed the header from the top one to the bottom one
✅ Added a button that copies all colors in a palette

Next up:

⚡ Cache API responses to reduce load time
⚡ History list of generated palettes

paletteai. vercel. app

I just checked on my phone. Why do you have 2 loading spinners? The one on the button and the one on the page before the pallet loads.

You can simply leave your button in an inactive state until you settle every body wey follow for the flow.

What did you use for styling?

So I took the spinner on the button out and replaced it with a 'please wait...' text

I used Tailwindcss for the styling

Next feature I'll be adding to my little AI is - ability for s to copy all colors in a palette at once.

Nice.

Good job.

Would suggest using Redis to cache prior searches so you dont need to fetch for every single request, hence reducing load times.

Thanks for your input.. I will implement that one of these weekends. Will notify you about it

The shiny new things happening in the software world is creating usable product using AI. I jumped on the trend and created my first ever AI side projects. I named it "PaletteAI 🎨" and the link is right here https://paletteai[dot]vercel[dot]app

So palette AI is powered by openAI(the AI behind chatgpt) and it's a tool that generate not just palette but a color design system that provide harmonious balanced look for your design... To generate yours, input a valid color (color name or Hex code preferably) and click on generate palette. This process will probably take few seconds for the AI to generate your palette. Try it here https://paletteai[dot]vercel [dot]app

I built it in two weekends 😄 using NextJs(frontend & backend) and Vercel edge function. I will open source the codebase after doing some refactoring.

Y'all and criticism is needed. Also feel free to ask me any questions regarding this project too

What do y'all think??

Every time I use golang generics, I feel like an immortal. It makes my code more sexy and so assuring. One of the reasons I have come to fall in love so much with it is because I no longer have to bother myself about type casting ed arguments that satisfy the empty interface a.k.a any type.

No more writing spaghetti code that handles different data types, It's just amazing ! I don't really understand why some people find it so hard to see the light.

Do you like it too ? If no, why ?

Hey bro, trust you are doing well?!
How can i get started with GOLANG as a beginner? Can you recommend me a course that teaches from the basics down to the advance level?
Thanks.

I prefer W3css to tailwind.
Powerful yet Lightweight.

Is that a new CSS framework?
Brogrammer(m): 2:23am On Aug 22, 2022
truthCoder:

Tailwind makes development easier and projects easier to maintain.

Implement reusable components and use @apply for repetitive styles (h1, btn, box etc) and you are good to go.

I started using Tailwind over a year ago and i have not done anything with vanilla css since then.

Tailwind allows you to think in code. You can only understand this statement once you get it. If you are still wired in vanilla, it would seem like gibberish.

Tbh, I'm still hooked on vanilla but when I tried Tailwind, it made a lot of sense and I kinda of work faster because - it saves me from the stress of coming up with class names, fear of styles collision etc

Will see if I can master it within a month

Ajibel:

Very nice idea about this: 'md:[flex justify-center items-center]'

But have you considered using the @apply directive?

I just went through the tailwind docs to see what the @apply directive does and how to use it... It's easy
Brogrammer(m): 2:06am On Aug 22, 2022
Rgade:

I love this conversation. I was so opposed to tailwind for a long time cause I didn’t get the hype about a framework that littered your markup with classes till I tried it, now I’m hooked.
Writing plain css now feels like torture.
I can see you’ve already gotten tips on how to extend tailwind’s power.
If you want to declare your own custom single values you can use the theme.extend object in your tailwind.config.js file.
And for composing reusable components you can use the @layer components { }.
I’m sure if you stick around long enough you’ll get to love it cool

Did a quick check on the docs and you're spot on.
