Well nothing weird, but these times stood out for me.

1). My son between his JS3-SS3 a lot of ladies were seriously disturbing him, I knew it was a matter of time before he will succumb. I told him, it was time for us to shop for his size in condom (I don't know the heck I was doing - but I wanted to protect him as much I could). Now we laugh about it.

2). One midnight I saw one of my acquaintance around my estate, looking for where he could buy groundnut, he said he wouldn't be able to sleep that night if he did not eat groundnut, it was weird to me, but as a good guy and because my estate hardly sleep, I foolishly took him around shops looking for where he could buy groundnut, but no lucky.

Couple of days later he died of overdose in a hotel room, where he was having fun with 2 hookers. That day I found out groundnut is a code for drugs.

3). The day I stopped buying foodstuff when I travel out of state. I travelled out of state, on my way back, I bought bag of garri, keg of palm oil, oranges, plantain and everything that would make my then fiancée and her family happy. I forgot taxi, keke nor bike run in her estate and their house is far from the gate and I was not wearing belt that day. When the bus stopped me by their estate gate, it was a struggle to carry the bag of garri on my head, the bunch of plantain, oil and other bags in one arm and still pulling up my falling tros from my waist with the other hand and my phone was dead, I couldn't call them for help. In my struggle I looked like a mad man, till a friend of mine saw me, pulled up and gave me a lift, since that day, I don't buy food stuff when I travel out of state. I send the money for them to buy whatever they want.

You are one helluva funny guy... shocked

grin

I had to read that 3rd story like 4 times. Each time laughing my lungs out.

If your fiance or her mom had seen you with the bag of garri on your head, dragging the palm oil and plantain while struggling with your tro. I am sure she would have "divorced" you before you even get the chance to marry her. grin

The picture of you with garri on your head with oversized tros in my head is so funny!

I also used to have the same view as you back then when I was still a devoted church girl and abstaining from relationships and intimacy in general... I'd always get pissed off whenever my friends from class would be talking about their love lives in my presence... And they'd always come to my room to gist about it while I'll be in a hurry for them to leave since I had nothing to add to their discussions... grin grin grin

I'll be acting as if I found their gist interesting while deep down I'll be feeling like calling the TLB to come, take them and shove them where the sun never sets... grin grin grin... The frustrations of being single for too long can take a toll on someone's body and reasoning... grin grin grin

It wasn't until the right guy came my way and the day he touched me for the very first time, I felt this electricity going all over my body like Eskom's loadshedding after stage six power cut and it also felt like I was struck by lightning from a cumulonimbus cloud... And it was only an embrace and nothing intimate... grin grin grin

And you can be single, but still get killed, keep that in mind.

If you felt that way from a touch...

I wonder how you felt when you became intimate!

if you like study gender studies , so far you have ion for it and are keen on making it in that area

the best thing is to be self employed or work in a company like Valve, any reasonable non profit org where you'll be valued and treated well

I read a book one time...

I will rephrase the story as I can't recall it verbatim... But still very much same storyline.

So these two brothers in a Chinese province. Mr Hang and Mr Wang had two male children each.

So mr Hang sent his first son to military school where he did well graduated and became very good at military strategy. Soon the king of the province heard about how good he was and made him military commander and General of his army.

As for his second son Mr Hang sent to school to learn philosophy and the art of teaching. He also graduated in due time and was made a professor at the highest level of with the greatest honors accorded any citizen.

Now Mr Wang seeing the success of both sons of Mr Hang decided to tow same path for his sons so he did the same. Sending one to study military strategy and the other to study philosophy and the art of teaching at the best schools available.

Eventually both graduated with excellent grades and soon the king heard of how brilliant they both were so he invited them to his palace for a chat.

After listening to both of them speak he sent the son who studied philosophy to prison and had the one who studied military strategy amputated.

When the king was asked the reason for his actions he said that the military tactician he had amputated because listening to him he discovered he was very bold and courageous and brilliant with his strategies on wars. He would have employed him to be a general in his own army. But it would cause disunity and rancor in his army. Because he already had many generals in his army and so he cut of his legs so he wouldn't go and work for a rival ruler's army where he might be made a general which would be devastating for him if that ruler decided to attack his province.

As for the other son he had sent to prison: how dare he talk philosophy, peace and history at a time of war.

Moral of the story is study the times. Not every course is marketable. Go for what is sellable and make a ion from it. I don't believe in that study anything as long as you have ion those things don't work anymore.

Society changes and it's only the ones that adapt and go with the flow that success awaits. No go dey study philosophy when the world needs a bicycle repairer.

Make whatever you study or do your ion. Find your real ion when you succeed at what you do.

Something like that!

And even the dead too.

Unlike another country I know.

I wonder what was wrong with me when God asked which country I wanted to be born into... Maybe I had a blunt in my hand. And in that crazy moment of extasy I must have screamed with the lost and frenzied glaze in my eye "Africa... NIGERIA!"

I can't ... But lord I am sorry I was high. Any remedy to undo...?

He is addressed as Professor in the media. It will be interesting to know why this has not been raised. He was once married to the Fani-Kayode family of Ile-Ife.

Since you are struggling to comprehend my point and how some unpatriotic Nigerians with low self esteem have been denying themselves of being blessed by Nigeria so you wanted to make it about money, I will plead with you to first go make the kind of money some Nigerians have made. You will realize that to build formidable sustainable wealth requires character. Many of you don't even understand how extremely diligent and hardworking some Nigerians are because you keep company with those who have failed and blame others for their failure.

Those folks that you praised have not even achieved a fraction of impact some Nigerians have made in governance. The Kegame you mentioned in ignorance is a clear example. President Kegame is on his 4th or 5th term as president yet he has not built Rwanda up to how Asiwaju Tinubu transformed Lagos. As at 1999, Rwanda was ahead of Lagos in economic and population power yet today Lagos has caught up and far overtaken and exceeded the whole of Rwanda yet Lagos had a smaller land mass and was behind before.

My point again is that you have been spending time with the losers by choice in Nigeria. Your mindset is equally inferior to the reality of how some Nigerians have achieved far greater impact yet not loud. Go and read about MainOne for example.

Pls what do you smoke...?

If Tinubu is really a capitalist- he will never

never impose draconian regulations by the

CBN to make life a living hell for job creators,

Companies will not be fleeing left and right from

Smh. The money in Nigeria is so huge that it may take 100 of Ghana to make such money. He is a Professor and immediate past President of Ghana so he's aware of how powerful the Nigerian political and economic elites are. We have the courage too like how we took on the South African White Supremacists to ANC leaders; mobilize, fund, educate and feed them in Lagos for years till apartheid was defeated.

The UK-trained Engineer founder of Econet confessed that it was when his business got to Nigeria that he made the money he never even knew existed in the whole of Africa!
Ignore Nigeria at your own peril. Did you see how Kenya delivered the ipob terrorist group leader to Nigeria wink

Nigeria will never bless those who speak ill of the land. Have you noticed that it's same set of people who have been complaining of not being blessed by Nigeria from generation to generation?

Nana addo was former president of Ghana...

He is a lawyer and one time attorney General of Ghana I think. But he isn't a professor.

We have the courage alright and the brains as well but everything particularly leadership as in this scenario is not all about money.

I think we put money first as Nigerians reason why our values are constantly depleting by the day.

The abubakar tafawa balewas, amadu bells and founding fathers in general had the world stage at their time and were respected. But it wasn't necessarily about the money.

True money is important but leadership is more than that.

The kenyattas, kigames and even the military guy from Burkina are all respected today not necessarily because of the money but what capacity they bring to the table!
